Can anyone explain this to me? - HTC One X+

So I am trying to download an app on my phone, and it won't let me because it says that my device isn't compatible with the app, which to me makes no sense. I am running the Elegancia rom for ATT. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. Thanks!

It might be the pesky tegra3, but it could be the ROM also. Try it from your phone and post baxk

It's because the ROM changed the name of the device to HTC HTC One X+, instead of HTC One X+, and the app doesn't recognize that device. I've seen this before with other ROMs on other devices. Not all apps reject the double HTC, but some do. You should be able to fix it by editing your build.prop

Ok so I downloaded build.prop editor, but what exactly do I need to edit to take away one of the HTCs and fix this problem?

I don't think your problem is related to the device name, actually. I get the same thing in the Play Store (HTC HTC One X+), but my device is shown as compatible.

Maybe it's an AT&T issue. I'm running the International version of that rom, and device is shown as compatible.

Does yours show up as HTC HTC One X+ on the Store? Like I said, I've personally had this issue on another ROM. I never edited the build.prop to fix it because the dev updated the ROM, but people on the same ROM said they were doing that to fix it. It could be a combination of issues, so eliminating the easiest one first makes sense.

Does the modaco hacked apk work? I can see if it installs but have no way to test mobile payments.

I didn't. When I tried to install it, it quit with "App Not Installed." Anyone get it working?
Did anyone change the build prompt to galaxy nexus?,

I hope someone gets this working. I try to install but get "App not Installed" as an error. I love my Starbucks Card and Adding Google Wallet would make life easier. There are so many places that have the scanners now.
I tried the hacked apk and the buil.prop edits but both give the same "insufficient privileges" error. I think the sense roms are missing some NFC libs or something like that. Can someone with an international version using a CM based rom give it a shot?

Mass Effect Infiltrator?

Ok, so this game (Mass effect infiltrators) comes preinstalled on stock HOX+ Roms for free. I decided to flash ViperXL+, and was wondering if it was still legal to post/find a Download link for this app on xda? I already purchased the phone, so shouldn't it make sense I could have it on any Rom I wanted? Or is it possible to pull it from a stock Rom? Any help is appreciated

No, it runs fine. I just want to know if it's legal to re download it since it doesn't come in the viper Rom

You can pull the .apk from a stock rom and install it on a custom one. But posting a link to the .apk would be illegal.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2
I believe what is factory installed is only a demo. For me, I was prompted to purchase the full version. I could be mistaken on this though. But if I am correct then with out a doubt posting the full version anywhere would be illegal.

It is a full version on my ATT onex+. To the OP, i'm no pro at this, but if you backed up your stock rom then you should have the apk backed up in there somewhere, i would think. I would do some searching in the backup file and see if you can extract the apk from there and re-install it.
Full verson where?! I have the att hox+ and it did not come with a full version. They wouldn't be that nice.

Yes, it is the full version. And I do have a stock backup, so maybe I can figure out how to grab it from there...

Q: HTC Backup for HTC One

Well I hope no one has asked this question yet, but I just read that HTC Backup for HTC One has been released as a standalone application for AT&T and other variants I am assuming.
Here is the google play link.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...central&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=bloglink
Now it says my phone is incompatible, as I am running CleanRom 1.6 does anyone know of where I can download and sideload the APK file?
Here's a link to the one I just pulled from my phone. http://db.tt/RvXONAh7

So would you say it's safe to keep removed if you don't backup on HTC?
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I backup to HTC but I don't think removing it is a problem

I think this is a good idea. Does it already exist?

Saw this in the international forum and thought we need this as well. Unless we already have it in which case could someone point me in that direction?

Any way you can explain that in a way that someone who knows nothing about rooting and bootloader unlocking and development would be able to understand.

Basically our phone is branded as the att version. With a cid number that does not match the one that the dev edition possesses. The only way we can spoof the cid to match it is to achieve s off.
Your phone comes s on(security flag on),meaning you can't touch lower level things like hboot, radios, and cid numbers.
S off is a difficult process so it will take some time until it's available, and even when it is available its only recommended for advanced users who know what they're doing. It's very easy to brick a device when it's s off

Incorrect, it will restore and run just fine on att. S-off isn't necessary unless doing ruu.

VVM apk

So, I have used ARHD on my m7 for the longest time. Due to AT&T having an awful VVM app I reluctantly used YouMail. Having seen the AT&T new VVM app, I'm hoping to get it working on my m8 with ARHD. I don't know if any of the devs in this corner of the woods have some insight or not. I have installed the att_vvm.apk and it shows its installed, but no icon appears.

It seems the AT&T and WWE versions of messages are the same. That is of course if you were referring to the Messages.apk
Since I have no way to launch the VVM logcat is pretty much worthless to me right now as well.
Still no dice. Logcat only shows a few things about the att vvm app, no errors though. Not sure how to track down any more info.
Well I restores back to a stock rom to investigate, and it is definitely tied to the Messages.apk, if i freeze it in Titanium VVM also disappears.
Can someone please upload the messages.apk from the AT&T ROM?

Stock Messages app.

There must be another dependency outside of Messages.apk and ATT_VVM3.apk. I just wasn't sure where to look. Maybe as deep as SystemUI.apk?

Despite being the old/different version, this actually says it is incompatible with my M8, not happening for anyone else? (Im runngin ARHD 3.1)
I'm on ARHD 3.0 and the market version works, but must be connected to gsm at activation.

That's why. ARHD is based on the international firmware. Your phone isn't recognized at being AT&T so the Play Store won't let you download it. For me, I had a Titanium Backup of VVM that I just restored. I'm not sure how you could get it. Maybe a build.prop edit or something probably. Someone else may chime in.
Still the proper goal is to get the HTC version of VVM running on WWE roms. It is much cleaner looking and is integrated into the phone app itself.
I don't want to bother Mike with such an unrelated task, but I know there are many ARHD users on AT&T.
I don't know how to track down dependencies so my only way to contribute is to blindly flash apk's from AT&T over ARHD until it starts working.
This is really bugging me trying to get this to work lol
I have two days off soon. I will spend some more time trying to get it working. Specially since we have system rw it should be a simpler process.
