USB headset with dock? - Transformer TF300T Accessories

I have a Razer Megalodon USB headset. I've been using it with my computer for a while, but I recently switched back to using my tablet for most tasks. The headphones light up and flash as they activate like they do on a computer, and I can adjust the volume with the built in digital wheel, but the sound still plays through the built in speakers.
Anyone know if it is possible to use USB headsets with the USB port on the charger/keyboard base?

You would probably need a custom kernel.

[Q] How to 3.5mm microphone input with 3.5mm stereo output?

What I need to do with my atrix is plug in a microphone via 3.5mm jack and playback over 3.5mm output to stereo. I've seen adapters to plug in with stereo 3.5mm and microphone 3.5mm to 1 3.5mm jack. I know the atrix has multi functions on the 3.5mm jack. I wasn't sure how I could harness this function within the Android OS?
So I plan on getting a studio quality microphone with a standard 3.5mm jack. I'll be plugging this into the atrix by a 2 way dongle if that's possible? Input/output dongle? Then it'll be outputting the audio from the microphone to the speakers for amplification or whatever output source of choice.
Usually I'd use my laptop to do this function. However, my laptop is a huge pain to use and I'd prefer to use my phone since it's way more convenient.
THANKS GUY'S!
Can the atrix record from external microphone?
Studio mike to mini Jack is s waste of time. You need a balanced cannon socket to get the benefit.

Thats cool I was wondering if I could record using an external microphone?
I can record from the Mic on my headphones, do I don't see why not.

That's great to know. So then how could I then playback what's being recorded in real time?
Sounds like you are trying to use it as a multi track recorder. Have you tried one of the multi track apps? Something like audio evolution et al?

Great idea. Now that's promising! If there's an app that can precisely control each individual steps on the 3.5mm jack. There might be several functions available like spdif out via 3.5mm dongle or something? Or a audio brick with a microphone input and stereo output so once that cable is dialed in. It should honestly work perfectly. As long as the app can hold it's own. I'll check it out.
What cable do you think I should use for this function?
Any other apps available? How easy would it be to write?
You're looking into making your Atrix to act like external audio interface with low latency monitoring. No, AFAIK you won't get satisfying results on any android device. It has something to do how android drivers handle audio. I was looking into iRig for android and found out that it's not going to happen.
However, high quality recording is possible. You would need adapter with preamplifier. I found a perfect one (MIKI) and have seen it in action. It enables your android device to use any dynamic mic for recording. Using appropriate adapter with this you could even use condenser mics. Price tag of €100 is the only thing that's holding me back to buy it.
Accompany it with app such as PC Recorder and you're all set to go.
Yeah, the audio stack in Android is pretty crap. I'm guessing it's the whole running in a java vm instead of native code?
My old 2007 2G iPhone with its 128MB RAM and ~500MHz cpu works fine as guitar effects processor, my last year's dual core Atrix with 1GB RAM lags like a mofo. As does every Android phone we tried. Get the basics right Google!

I can't find that device anymore?

I need to plug in a mic into android phone then playback over the 3.5mm stereo output.
THANKS
Good news everyone!

Can't find a place where I can buy the software and cables and accessories to do this. I'd be very interested to buy it.

Anyone can recommend a bluetooth earphone or headphone for the prime?
I would like to have one that I can also use with my PC for Skype and movies.

I have the Sony DR-BT50 and love them, they are "over the ear", so you get great bass and they block a lot of background noise, especially when on a aircraft.
Thanks! Does it have a built in mic?
I actually enjoy the Samsung HS3000.

Sound quality with the included earbuds is very good, and you can swap them for any pair or headphones or earbuds that you prefer. It has built in volume control, playback controls (ff/play-pause/rw). Several built in EQ settings. Microphone built into the clip for calls and skype and charges via microUSB. I also like that is has a built in voice to tell you when you have connected, disconnected or when your battery is about to die.
It is very nice.

Yes it does.

Optical Audio Out on Prime

I'm looking to find a way to get optical audio from my Prime. I'm hoping to connect the HDMI and have the digital audio be converted into an optical out so that I can get digital audio on my home audio and car audio system.
I bought a 35mm headphone jack to optical adapter somewhere about 6 months ago to do something similar. It seems like radio shack should carry them. I'm not 100% sure where I bought it, but worth a shot.

I think those are for minidiscs and anything that has dual use headphone port, but surely the Tf is audio only?
The easiest way is to use a tv without optical out. I use one on my LG 50" to 5.1. Works for my tab, laptop and comp. As far as the car, you'll have to get a deck or car tv with HDMI in, but I haven't seen anything in person that wasn't analog for audio. Decks also have bluetooth. I have a JVC that works well with audio streaming.

Voodoo sound out of desktop dock?

I bought a Fascinate on eBay to take advantage of that Wolfson DAC. I want to use this as a dedicated player in my car, but want to use it through the Samsung Home Dock (3.5mm jack on the back of the dock).
Anyone know if the Voodoo sound will come through that jack, or only through the phone's 3.5mm jack? Is there a ROM/Kernel combo that works for this?
Nope it won't play voodoo through dock since the dock connects via USB port and not the headphone jack. Voodoo sound only plays through headphone jack.
Try using dsp manager for music in your car/dock.

USB speaker support

I'm wondering whether a set of USB speakers that I've got, Altec Lansing iML 247 can be made to work with the TF201. When I plus them into the keyboard dock the light on the speakers comes on but sound comes via the built-in speakers.

I doubt they will work. I think they only work work on a PC, unless it could be a power related issue?
likely powee related. i have usb speakers that worked. the dock powered them up. you might have some higher powered speakers requiring more power than what dock can dish out. try plugging dock up to Ac adapter then try usb speakers. they likely will work then since dock is being powered by Ac adapter.
If the speakers do not have a seperate cable for the headphone socket, then my understanding is they will not work as ICS does not have the drivers for USB to audio. When Jelly Bean comes it is supposed to heve the necessary drivers for USB to audio. and therefore your setup should work.
I have tried the speakers on my Prime in Jelly Bean (4.2.1). The speakers work but there is no way to control the volume. Any ideas on a way to do this?
