An Appeal to serve L9 community by providing Mirrors for V10*/V20* KDZ [NOW YR TURN] - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Everyone knows since long time I am trying my best to collect the links of KDZ released by LG in this main thread. You have downloaded them and well everyone is happy since long time.
BUT NOW LG STOPPED RENDERING MANY OF V10* LINKS FROM OFFICIAL SITE AND STARTED V20* LINKS, WHICH IS GOOD.
But as the V10* links are disappearing, I request all of you to upload your KDZ's to any good mirror sites of your choice and share the link for future references and for people (may be developers) who need them after some time.
I recommend www. multiupload .nl
Come on pals! XDA served you at NO COST. Now its your turn to serve XDA. Share your links. GOD BLESS L9 AND OUR L9 COMMUNITY.

Hi, is this verified to be working on the T-Mobile branded P769?
You see...I have a P769 10G, NOT rooted yet and BootLoader is locked...the damn server says it is down (when trying the Lelus root method), but I'm guessing it has to be a higher version such as the 11a.
I know the 11a is for Wind Mobile Canada BUT I see that you have T-Mobile and I'm just trying to make sure that it would work on the T-Mobile version of the phone.
(Yeah I use the newer BIN file...I would guess)

Yes, 11a will work with T-mobile p769.
I used 11a for about a month and it was definitely better than 10g
(the 11a Wind Mobile version has less bloatware and the touch screen is more responsive than T-Mobile 10g)
I don't recommend 11a right now though.
You should install Jelly Bean, it is nice.

Thanks

Yeah...figured so but wasn't sure...but I finally got it to go beyond that.
But now it just says that you have the latest version or something like that and does nothing. I try to manually change the Country to something random, and still says I have latest version and don't need to update.
So I can't go beyond this. (Yes, I even threw the kitchen sink at it! :silly: )
So I looked around at the screen...and then I saw: P769BK
I was like, hmm...what the hell is BK? I searched around the forums and found that the BK version won't work.
I'm on the T-Mobile P769BK 10G...so, it looks like I have to wait but doubt that any work will be done on the BK version.
I wonder why no other "regular" exploits won't work on this...

BK has zero weird thing.
cmahendra is in India , does not have P769, know nothing about p769.
I have three P769s , one is P769BK, two are p769BKGO
you can see the only difference, one is in black box, another in pink box,
all box labels say "P769 black".

[REMARK] Are LG RE-Making GingerBread?

This might seem crazy, but has anyone noticed that all the Optimus one official GB links dont work anymore?
most people probably already have the KDZ, but LG have taken it off their servers and you can no longer update with the lg mobile updater tool. And to top it off, the Update Notification app in the stock rom says V10E is the latest update.
Maybe LG are RE-Making V20?
What do you guys thinks happening?
Personnally i hope the new GB (if thats it) is like the firmware of the Optimus NET

i ran the Update Notification app a minute ago and it says 'Firmware has been updated and is now set in version V20D_00'
im currently using V10B here in the philippines.
I don't think they will be making more updates. They want people to buy newer models, it's not their interest to keep people happy with their old phones...

All the other KDZ links are down; i think, because i have tried V20A; V20E; V20F; not V20C yet. But all these seem to not work.
The main cause could be that LG simply dont think that their GB is decent enough and took it down. but after half a year of saying GB would come, LG wouldnt just say stuff you guys and remove European V20 unless they were gonna change it somehow
Thoughts?

does this mean i can use this to flash/update my v10b to v20d?
my p500 had v20d before (official update), but i encountered fastboot problem and went back to v10b... now when i use the lg update tool, it says v10b is the latest. what does this mean?

It Says V10B was removed, meaning LG dont WANT us to have it. They wouldnt take it offline after more than half a year of promising. The official update was online for a month. LG are definately doing something, or it wouldnt be offline.

bricked LG769BK

stuck on bootloop with security error message. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING. I just want to get the phone back to stock. nothing works. Has anyone had this problem and successfully unbricked their phone? Any help is appreciated.
the problem is being worked on as we speak, mostly due to not having kdz files for that version of the L9. I use the same version too, most of the time, which is why i'm not doing much beyond rooting it and freezing the bloatware.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344
Use the KDZ for the Canadian P769:

If it works, you will loose wifi calling and any of the T-Mobile bloatware. I may be able to send you my kernel, wifi calling APKs, and T-Mobile bloatware.
Good luck.

Canadian V11a works great on T-mobile P769BK phone, I am on at&t SIM, work great on at&t than it on t-mobile.
Actually, it is very clean rom without any bloatware except default web page to Wind Mobile website.
only short-come is "not root-able" yet

So can be rooted or not be rooted? I am confused on that one. I figured the same method would work as the 10E. I am hoping this will let me get back use of my recovery on my P769BK for T-mobile US. After a failed OTA reboot to recovery either reboots phone or goes to dead android.

I am using the Canadian 11A on my US T-Mobile P789BK. It can not be rooted using any of the current methods.
The firmware itself is nice in that it is fast and pretty much bloat free. The little bit that is there can easily be disabled.
Everything works great including wifi hotspot and usb tether. I have been running it for a week now and so far I haven't run into any problems.
I hope someone can come up with a method to root it as I would love to have that option once again.
BTW:
I have used the KDZ offline method to install USA 10G and Canadian 11A and there is no problem going back and forth between the two at any time. Even all apps, wallpaper, data...etc. remain untouched. You would not even know that you switched except for the additional T-Mobile apps and the boot screens.

[Q] p760's firmware on p765?? Is it possible?? has anybody tried it yet

Has anybody tried flashing firmware's from different variant's of Optimus L9
the reason I am saying this is p760 will be unlocked in the next OTA update.
yes you heard it right p760's bootloader will be unlocked in the next update.
So I was thinking if p760's firmware is compatible with p765 or not ????
I think it would be worth to try flashing firmware of p760 on p765 !
they both are identical and the only difference between these phones is gorilla glass. IMO
I know it would be very risky. but it would be worth the risk.
It would be nice if two or more people could confirm that p760 firmware works on p765.

2) Faster and Smoother than before.
3) Data and Apps were not lost (after this Offline FOTA) so checked all options and apps, were seen working fine.
3) The most important thing is Outstanding Full Network. Was having 2/3 bars inside my home, now it FULLLLLLLLL

Yeah you right, if we could somehow compare all the variants of L9 and make comparison/compatible chart for the ROMS that would be really helpful for the L9 community.
I wonder if there is way to try find whether the rom is compatible or not, something like RUN/debug the ROM on the device without flashing it. I wonder if it is possible to that.

OMG, you are really brave. I think you are the first person to try that. Are you sure all hardware and features working well. I will also give an immediate try.
Actually I do guinea pig myself and my L9 always, but this time just want to re-confirm for some more confidence.
The difference between p765 and p760 I think just in the NFC feature (cmiiw). I installed the firmware 10A Baltics only for downgrade from firmware 10C Indonesia. Since I can not downgrade to 10B Indonesia for the purpose of rooting, so I try to use p760 firmware 10A Baltics. And it worked. I am not really sure if "all" hardware and features working well since i use it only for couple of hours but phone, texting, data, wifi and tried some important setting were working fine.

Was holiday 2/3 days in India, phone was not seriously required and got some spare time, so just out of curiosity, FLASHED P760V10G EUROPE on my Indian P765 with my usual Offline FOTA Flash method, flashed easily and smoothly. Obviously ROOT WAS LOST.
In first hour the phone is functioning great. Saw some improvements.
1) Noticeable more responsive screen
2) Faster and Smoother than before.
3) Data and Apps were not lost (after this Offline FOTA) so checked all options and apps, were seen working fine.
3) The most important thing is Outstanding Full Network. Was having 2/3 bars inside my home, now it FULLLLLLLLL
Though No Root and device is showing as "P760" in phone information (who cares), will use for 2/3 days for testing and will share some more finding. cya

wow, glad to hear it, data and apps will always be there after you update the fw using that method
My 765 running v10C screen is not so responsive, think I'll give 10G a try
Btw, 765 is flashable with 760 version and it works. I tried Europe version.
I've tested the stability etc etc
The only not working is the NFC and camera.
Dunno if the others have camera problem too like me, but it can be solved by using 3rd party camera apps like camera360 :good:
Now, I'm downloading the 10G and gonna give it a shoot on my 765 :fingers-crossed:

CAMERA WORKING PERFECT, else I would have mentioned it. After your post again tested 5MP photos and 1080p Video, all perfect and superbly smooth video and photos. You may hard-reset and try flashing. If works on my P765, should work on your P765 too.

[q} download v20d for p769?

So is there a downloadable kdz for v20d on p769? If not why not
there isn't one, and no one knows exactly why at the moment. perhaps it's because they figured out how we were rooting the phone and are locking down the kdz so we can't do it. Also, the full kdz would probably come with the ability to unlock the bootloader, and t-mobile certainly doesn't want that.

jellybean update for south Africa

as a proud new owner of a optimus l9 (purchased through vodacom) I thought that I had made the most economically viable decision in picking the L9 over the plethora of other options available. the scheduled jellybean update and the handset's good specs are what really sealed the deal for me and I'm disappointed in the fact that I still haven't the scheduled jelly bean update whatsoever... the official kdz file for the south African firmware has been posted on: lg-phone-firmware com. I'm truly getting frustrated by not having the latest software whereas I know it's out there and many are already using it... was unable to flash it using the offline method.. been trying that route for the past 3 weeks to no avail so the official OTA is my last chance at getting the update... has anyone in the region received the update as well?
Trust me you dont want it...

what makes you say such? I'm sure the smoothness brought by project butter is beneficial on a day to day basis.. overall jb should be a much better experience than ICS or is there something I don't know?

Trust me, i'm from south america and the update didn't get here yet but i flashed a kvz from Telcel, Mexico which has JB and the phone is a complete different one. I hated it on ICS, love it on JB due to its smoothness and better response to touch.
Have you tried watching some video tutorials? I had tons of problems trying by my own but then followed a spanish one and boom, problem solved.

download it then flash using offline kdz installer. :good:
after numerous attempts at completing the offline kdz flasher I still haven't succeeded. thus is the reason for me trying to find our whether others have received the update on my region because if they have I may as well wait for it to terrible down to my device... if not I'll seek out the assistance of someone with another PC Cuz the offline kdz flasher method won't work on my laptop...

oooooohhhhhhhhhhh..... that's what I've been doing wrong then... been wondering why I've failed at every attempt... I'll attempt this again when I'm at college (free Wi-Fi as opposed to using my own connection which is capped)
thank you very much for the help... I will report back with results in a few days...
in the meanwhile could others with a L9 P768 model confirm whether or not they've received an ota update yet

I never got a message like that, have you already got the OTA update or did you just get confirmation that it is being released shortly?

I received the OTA notification... I've even installed the update and can confirm that I am running jellybean.. it's way another overall... battery life seems to have actually improved despite what others have reported...
I dont know if it will work for you but when i wanted to go back to fully stock using the official online flash tool, i used recovery phone option and it gave me jelly bean v20a instead of v10b which is what my phone shipped with. Its not a great method as it will probably hard reset and you would lose data.
