my s3 being restarted even in download mode - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

my s3 being restarted even in download mode and not let me use odin....
because the time remaining in download mode is like 8 seconds
any ideas?

Very difficult to help you because you haven't given any useful information.
My best guess is your battery is dead or your power button is faulty.

No information so not a clue .
What does download mode second screen say .
What model phone is it .

my phone is i9300 international version
no second screen
I'm using a JIG s3 but...
just restarts and goes back to dmode
without the JIG sIII galaxy only shows start screen 8 sec.. and restarts again

A Jig do you mean a USB recovery Jig .
If so you need a service centre repair .

[Q] Download Mode, But Volume Button is not responding

Hi guys,
I have rooted my gf's phone 2 months back using litening rom to gain root and CWM and subsequently flash it with CheckROM 4.
Phone is good for about a month or so until one fine day, when she restarts her phone, the phone goes into download mode.
Now, in the download mode, the button is not responding at all. either vol up or down. No respond. So i tried to go into recovery but the phone one, instead, that combination restarts the phone.
Now the phone cant get into recovery mode at all, by all means, tried CWM manager, tried Vol up + Power + home button
And when i go into download mode, the vol button gave me no respond, the vol button works perfectly during normal phone state.
Jigged it and vol button wont respond too. Tried factory reset the phone but all it did is reset the time and date.
Anybody can give me some pointer and or experiencing the same problem? My gf is upset, and if i cant solve it, i have to buy a new phone to her
No recovery mode and no download mode + USB jig does not work .

i wish i can brick my phone and claim a new one.... my sgs vibrant is easier to handle....
anyone can help?
ok, i tried and tried and finally able to go pass the donwload mode after jig my s2 by accidentally pressing the recovery mode combo in jig mode.
reset the binary counter to zero and send back to service centre
they suspected it as hardware failur but not too sure cos the vol button is working normally during phone state.
now waiting for them to repair it

Power reset or unknown upload mode + phone wont start at all???

PROBLEM???
1) I have an GT I9000G Galaxy SII wid official stock gingerbread for India
2) I was listening to music then suddenly... the phone rebooted itself and displayed the green android logo saying POWER RESET or UNKNOWN UPLOAD MODE
3) now the phone wont turn on despite pressing power button and cant enter into recovery or download mode...
what i have done so far....
1) take out sim... sdcard... battery...
2) connect GSII to laptop with odin 1.8x running
3) put battery back on while pressing both vol up n down button
.... this was supposed to bring back download mode according to http://androidforums.com/vibrant-tips-tricks/223806-guide-fixing-bricks-odin-errors.html
...but no download mode for me....
Anyone have any idea abt what to do???
Request: plz dont tell me to send it to samsung service center....
THANKX FOR UR REPLY
Not Vol up and down!!!! Vol down + home button and power button. This is For download Mode....
power off the phone.
hold the volume down+home+power button. this will boot u into download mode.
ten connect to pc and use odin to flash
c'mon guys... dont tell me you thought i dont know how to enter the download mode.... what u are suggesting is for normal phones (vol down+home+power)... if u read my problem once again u will know that my phone is not turning on at all... nomatter how long i press the power button (battery is fully charged) and there was a strange msg "power reset or unknown upload mode" with green android robot in the screen before all this started!!! so if u have any idea abt how to fix this... do comment... although im considering sending back my s2 to samsung service center... anyways thankx

Try to use a jig.......
hey Gnom2509
you should be more clear because if you search jig it would show a dance or tool or whatever in the search results. rajeshbabushrestha he means a usb jig.
I'm very sorry. My fault. I thought a usb jig. It will force the Download Mode,........maybe.
Update
i took my phone to samsung service center and apparently there was a problem with motherboard... solution: changing motherboard im posting this to help others who might have this type of problem in future :fingers-crossed:

Your problem sounds similar to this one. I assume when you say 'blank screen' that the screen is powered on?
Power off the phone, hold down VolUp + VolDown + Power for 4 to 5 seconds. Then release ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Now press Volume Up. Now hopefully you will be in download mode even if you can't see that you are. If it doesn't work try it again a couple of times. The reason that you have to press Volume Up is that a warning screen is actually displayed before the phone lets you into download mode.
The phone will give you no other indication that its in download mode and won't 'recognise Odin' when not in download mode. Make sure you have Samsung USB drivers (comes with Samsung Kies) installed on your PC.
Oh yeah and by the way the thread I've linked to suggests you have to reflash the bootloader to fix the 'blank screen' problem.

Galaxy S3 Stuck at Boot Screen (Samsung Logo)

Good day gentlemen,
It seems that my S3 would not start/boot up as it only shows the Samsung Galaxy SIII logo and keeps restarting itself. I rooted it before and it worked but the issue was that when I tried to flash a ROM it apparently failed and then the above happened. Any helps would be highly appreciated. Also I'd like to note that I am able to access Download Mode.
Flash a stock ROM

You need to enter recovery mode and wipe all data and caches, then reboot and see what happens...
enter recovery mode (hold home + volume up + power)
choose wipe data / factory reset

my problem is there is problem with my rom and hence i am getting the same problem mentioned earlier in this thread. i used everything including samsung galaxy s 3 root toolbox kit 7.0

my phone is just having only downloading mode. no other thing except the "boot screen" available in my phone.
my question is... how do i overcome to this problem? i wanna re-install the stock rom which i already have. and i know how to install the stock rom. ALL I WANNA KNOW IS WHAT TO DO TO GET VISIBLE STATUS IN ODIN SOFTWARE. AS I THINK THERE MUST BE SOME PROBLEM IN DRIVER.(I TRIED SAMSUNG PHONE DRIVERS, SAMSUNG KIES AND SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 ROOT TOOLBOX KIT 7.0)
PLEASE GIVE ME PROPER DRIVER SO THAT I CAN MANAGE
THANKS

but as per your saying.. my phone's usb driver got damaged. Right? But what it means? I used only the same data cable which i got with my phone.
is it possible that i will get this data cable issue resolved after visiting service center?
And how much possibilities to get my phone back in working condition if i will get it to service station?(asking cause i read that my phone got bricked)

please provide ur valuable solution
1. uninstall kies
2. install the usb drivers
3. use a different usb port/cable/pc
Google search for samsung drivers 1.4.6, I had a similar problem and the latest drivers dont recognise my device but 1.4.6 does. I would link it for you but I am on my phone.

[Q] Bricked my Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830i)

Hello,
I tried to reinstall a custom rom but I forgot to install it with CWM so it was installed with the default Android recovery. After the ZIP was installed I rebooted my phone but now it doesn't get any further than the Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i logo. I tried to boot in recovery and download mode but both of them doesn't work. I hope some of you can help me. I bricked my phone before but then I could get into download mode but now I don't.
Thanks a lot

Try the following guide to see if you can force open Download Mode through odin mode. Here is the link,
How to unbrick Samsung Galaxy Ace
This guide was meant for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 and hence the Download Mode key combination is different. So make sure the change the Download Mode key combination to your own device. If you can force open the Download Mode this way, then you can try installing the stock rom. Do post the result. Hope I Helped

As you can't enter the Recovery Mode and Download Mode, you have pretty much hard-bricked your phone. Since the above method didn't work, then you can try the USB Jig (not always guaranteed to work). If USB Jig did work, then it will force open the Download Mode so you can flash stock rom back using odin. If USB Jig doesn't work either, then your last option is to consult the Service Center. Do post the result. Hope I Helped
