LG G2 (Verizon) Removable Battery Thread - G2 General

So I took the plunge and upgraded to the LG G2 from a Samsung SIII and over all I enjoy it. The one thing that I will miss most is quickly swapping batteries in and out on the go and having a fresh full charge.
I pulled the back off of the G2, and the battery is still looking a big difficult for quick replacements. I'm a bit nervous to dig into mine (it is under an hour old) but I found a picture of the BL-T7 battery removed here: http://gsminsider.com/2013/08/lg-g2-bt-t7-3000mah-battery-hands-on/

Interesting. It wouldn't seem to far fetched to make a quick dongle out of the power terminal tether for quick swaps. Also cutting every other plastic snap latch from the housing back would make the thing come off with ease.

you may need to mod the housing... there is very little room to work with. They crammed as much as they could in that tight area. Personally with a 3000 mah battery I don't see the need. Just replace it after a year or two and keep on trucking.

As Joshua posted, I don't know why you would even bother.
The battery in thi sphone lasts over twice as long as most other phone's I've used.
So far on average im getting over a day and half and in some cases 2.5 days even with 4+ hours of screen on time

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if anyone actually did any modding, or if they changed the battery or anything. Let us know what happened!

Help with squeaking battery door?

Anyone have a simple way to prevent the sides of the battery door from squeaking? Mostly on the left side. Anyone else have this issue? Happens on my oem extended and oem standard door. Thanks in advance.

I had the same case and holster for the stock battery from verizon and quit using it after my phone slid out and hit the floor 5 times...
Went back to a leather case that you put the phone in (with belt clip).
perhaps a tad of electrical grease?...

If its the same thing that's happening to me then its not so much a squeak as it is feeling like its not completely on right.

I had that case and mine has always been tight. Had to really try and get it out to answer. I have 3 extras back from cpo they sent.

Car Mount (Custom)

After looking around for a while, and not finding anything, I decided to make my own car mount for my transformer. It came out much better than I expected. I will probably remake it a little nicer at some point, but it works very well as it is.
It does block the A/C and volume knob on the radio, but they can be effortlessly reached without moving the tablet from the top and bottom. For audio, I have a bluetooth receiver in my deck, as well as the ability to plug in an 1/8th inch jack as well.
I haven't worked out how I am going to charge it yet, but with 8.5 hours of life, I haven't had a great need for a charger yet.
The material is 1/8 x 1/2 aluminum bar and stainless countersunk screws. Material cost was about $15 from the local hardware store.
The first two pictures are the prototype.

Very nice but you should plastic dip the alu bar for a clean look.
Where can one get plastic dip? That's what I wanted to use, but I couldn't find it at the local hardware store...

Nice clean unobtrusive mount (do not like big clunky looking mounts)
I was also able to find it (Plasti-dip) at Harbor Freight tools, and Lowe's (in the paint section) Home Depot's seem to be a hit or miss
Thanks! I'll see if I can pick up some at HF after class tonight.
If there is one near you, Harbor Freight sells plastic dip.
If not, you can find it in some auto parts stores.

Armband?

I just got the Nexus 6 as a replacement for a defective device. Long story, it's not a size I would have chosen, but I'm falling in love with this beast against my will.
I'm not a large person, but I'm pretty active. Obviously my old jogging armband doesn't work with the 6. Has anyone found one that will? Ideally with the case on it? I have this case on it. It's a PITB to get off.
Thanks for any advice you have.
I have this one I got from Amazon.
I like it a lot, but you won't be able to use your case with it.

I have a little fabric armband that a friend gave me the other day. It's actually for a iPhone 6+ so the headphone jack hole is at the bottom. No biggie I can flip the phone upside down in the case. It stays in there fine. I used it for the first time today to work out. Um.. well during one arm rows whenever I'd pull up the weight the volume would go down. At one point I'd somehow booted into the bootloader screen. It was insane. I couldn't help but laugh at myself. I almost hardcore factory reset my phone while working out with just my left bicep.
Moral of the story? Try to find an armband that is made for this phone. I'm sure I can use the armband my friend gave me for running but nothing else. For those wondering this is the armband. I hope I can post this link.

I have the supcase armband as well. Have had it for several weeks and gone on several runs with it. It holds great and you can actually remove the band from it and use it as a case as well. My only complaint, which I don't know if you would even call it a complaint is that the velcro on the armband holds REALLY well. To the point where it is a little bit of a struggle to pull it loose.
Thank you all very much!

Gear S charging problem

So my Gear S does not fully latch on to the charging cradle anymore it only adheres to the back what has happened. I don't want to get a new one that I have to pay alot for so for now I have a hair tie to hold it together that is the only way it will charge for now. However I don't want it to ruin my watch to the point where it will not charge at all. Any ideas or solutions

Try this .....
Ok so I just saw the charger the top piece broke off a little which holds the cradle in place. So for now I will try the pill bottle method if not hair tie it will be.
Both my clips broke
Both of mine broke and now it's a real PIA.
I really can't believe Samsung came up with such a horrible design when such a simple and effective method like what LG or even Apple is going to use exists. I still enjoy my gear S but now that both clips are broken, I really am ticked as it's making charging a PIA.
I've already made the decision to switch to the LG Urbane LTE the moment it's available in the US and while I don't know when that will be, I'm definitely going to make the move. IMO it looks 1000% better too.
In the mean time, I just jumped on Amazon and via Prime ordered the cheap charger only cradle for the Gear S. Due to arrive Tuesday so I'll post back the findings but the dozen plus reviews show it works perfectly. I don't really use the built in battery on the existing one much if at all since the Gear S holds a charge so long.

Just call Samsung and they will replace it.

That is awesome, was this a difficult process? Just curious as I hate the idea of a non removable battery and would like to hope I could tear it down and replace it myself if needed.
:Funny thing...
This is what 75 percent of owners have said has happened to their phone, after a 3 inch drop onto a goose-down pillow
This phone looks good even when torn down!

Was thinking the same thing
You've got bigger cajones than me. This sort of stuff is far too fiddly for my liking
If it ain´t broke, don´t fix it Take good care and use a protective case and your phone will be good for at least 2 years ( until you get to choose a new device from your mobile provider ).
I have to say the battery is fiercely glued in. If you want to see how to change the battery, you can come to Witrigs.com/blog to see the process. Hope it does help.

Is there any information regarding the headphone jack audio amplifier chip?
The most intimidating thing about taking this apart is the glass over the camera area. Sure, I might get it out but not breaking it in the process is going to be tough much less getting it back without the glue looking like crap.

That's the beauty of the N6p. No provider needed.....you can buy a new one whenever you want!
