Note 2 USB Audio with External DAC - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I'm trying to use a Fiio E17 USB DAC/Headphone Amp with my Note 2. It does not work with the stock ROM or CM10.2. It does work using USB Recorder Pro but I'd love to have it work natively. Do any of the Note 2 ROMs have native USB audio working?

Did you enable it in settings?
Settings> Accessories check box to use external speakers.
USB audio works great with my car dock on Jellybeans ROM v22 and on stock.
Still not working on any of the 4.3 ROMs yet though.

I'm getting closer Got the dock to be recognized and it tries to route audio. Now instead of playing through phone speaker it just doesn't play at all. Baby steps.

I'm running a 10.2 nightly (4.3) and I don't have a Settings>Accessories check box.

Unfortunately it does not work yet on 4.3, but akellar is working on it for AOKP.

Trying but kind of at a road block. Good thing is I'm not the only one aware of it so maybe soon.

sixaxis controller help

Anybody get. Sixaxis. App to work on there DNA? I have searched all over from what I understand HTC phone due to the required bluetooth protocol will not work. But I also read. That a custom rom could fix this problem anybody know if any of the newly released DNA roms help this apply work. Thank you for any help
I believe its not compatible with sense. They're probably talking about AOSP roms. That's what I understand from my time in the Rezound forum

The app won't work with sense but the controller should work with a wired connection with games that have native support.....at least it better cuz I just ordered a gameklip

Mhl cable help?

Hey, I just bought a mhl cable off amazon with the intentions of using it to play games with my phone on my TV. When I hook the cable all up (HDMI end to my TV, usb to charger, and micro usb to phone) all I get is a notification telling me I'm connected to a video out source.
Also, when I expand the notification I'm told to start a video or slide show to view on an external monitor, which also doesn't work, and all my apps open in landscape even if I'm holding the phone upright.
I'm running newts sense 5 rom too. I actually wanted to post this in his thread but I guess I can't without 10 posts.
Thanks!
You change the input on the tv?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Sure did.

How about trying it on a stock based Rom to see if it works?
I have Viper ROM. I plug in the MHL and HDMI cable and it just automatically mirrors everything to the TV. I don't have to change any settings.
my mhl works on viper but I haven't been able to get it to work on newts rom with any of the kernals so im assuming it just that rom that wont work
Thanks for the replys guys, next time I get the chance I'll load up a different rom and report back if it works or not.

Are you sure the cable you bought is compatible with our device? I have been looking into this also and on radioshack.com and there are different cables for HTC phones and Samsung which is what I needed. Something about the pins in the micro ish.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium
Yeah, I made sure it was the 5 pin model. I'm thinking it's a software issue like everyone else did. I'll post my results after I test it on a stock based rom.

Alright, so I flashed ViperDNA and as soon as I plugged the mhl cable into my phone everything locked up and I had to do a hard reboot to get it working again. I'm not sure what that's all about, but could someone point me towards a mhl cable that they've personally confirmed works for our phone?

Alright, so I reflashed ViperDNA and then flashed Beastmode 5.0 and now everything's working great. Well except I can't get out of landscape mode while mirroring my phone to the TV but I just figured it was supposed to do that.

No, my phone does everything mirrored. Portrait or landscape.
My phone switches between portrait and landscape as well
I just use the media link and works fine for both roms

Also a sidenote, I Loose all signals (3g,4g,wifi and gps) randomly while my MHL cable is plugged in. Does this happen to you?

Nope. You need an adapter to make it work with your scarf. Especially in cold weather conditions.

Mine refuses to work with my scarf, I've tried everything I could think of. Do you recommend a certain brand? North Face? Gap? Polo?
I think the more important thing is the material. I hear that you wont have much luck with polyester. Wool might be the way to go, if you can deal with the itch.

Skype?

Just wondering if anyone uses this with Skype, and what their views are. How does it sound on the other end? Are the onboard mics good? Has anyone used Skype with a Bluetooth headset and if so which headset?

Never tried Bluetooth sorry but my wired headset, mic works fine that was meant for phone.

Oh im not an apple fanboy trust me..lol..but..i do know the ipad works great with the headset i have while skyping..worked withou a hitch. I have an acer iconia a100 and a500..neither work with the Bluetooth while skyping. I just hate wires and plan to skype from the road. The headset i use is for truckers..a blue parrott b250 and it has exellent noise reduction. I wonder if its just an acer thing..maybe asus will be better for skype and bluetooth.

Overall it works fine. But if connection is bad quality on other side is bad and you do not see it. Quality on prime stays perfect.

No dock audio on kitkat roms

Does anyone have any experience using the iBolt Xprodock with their Note 2? I've tried with two different KitKat roms but I can't get audio to come through the car when my phone is docked. I've seen some similar complaints about other galaxy phones on 4.4, I just can't imaging that dock audio isn't supported?

As I already told you, dock audio hasn't worked on any aosp rom on this (or any other smdk4412) device that I am aware of.
Yes I remember, I thought perhaps someone had found a workaround. There is an old app in the play store that rerouted audio thru the dock on Samsung devices a little over a year ago, wasn't sure if something like that was around or being worked on.
