I'm hoping it can somehow override the unlocked bootloader requirement. I'm gonna try it regardless.

I'm willing. Where is installer.

Forget it. As of now it says, "Your device currently isn't supported. " Anyways. When it tries to unlock the bootloader, it'll most likely end up just rebooting. And the ROMs will probably be for the P760 (As CM supports it officially on the site)

Yep does not work. Unsupported.

There was a small window open for the P769 but LG took care of that. Do you think they check our IMEI and block the token?

In all honesty I don't even know at this point. I'd imagine it only "works" on phones that are "officially" unlockable. They even stated that just about every Verizon phone is out the door lol.

I saw p760 is on the support list, not 769.
So no luck for 769 user here?

I look at the P769 as a T-Mobile phone instead of an LG phone sometimes. They do not want the L9 to run CyanogenMod. Plain and simple. They want us to get a Nexus for that.

Well from a theoretical standpoint, it would possibly unlock with a P760 ROM(?), like we had to do to unlock our bootloader.

Probably, but... And here it comes:
I think it was xonar_ from my old OB forum who found out, that even if you flash you phone with a kdz file, some partitions remain untouched/simply dont get flashed. Maybe if you manually would e.g. flash every single one, you might have a chance. But that being said, we need a guineapig

sent from my locked rooted P769 v20f
I'm on YouTube (BioDesigner48)
You're able to disable it, but that's it. If you root you can "quarantine" them and it's sort of a more powerful form of disabling. It stops them from ever starting up again and saves a ton of memory, RAM and physical. Now, why would you not want to root? Why not use the LGPwn?
Because if I root the phone I void the warranty and void T-Mobiles Jump program and would have to pay full price. I only got this phone because my HTC Sensation no longer works and I needed a phone to hold me over until a phone came out that I actually wanted.
You can just as easily unroot, lol.

Jelly Bean 4.3!!!!

It is expected that there will be most probably no jelly bean 4.2 instead direct 4.3 update for our device in approx 1 month:laugh::laugh::laugh:
(have a contact in lg got to know it from there)
There above information may be incorrect so don't get angry if we don't get an update:highfive:
Edit:We are not getting any official jelly bean update!
Rather wrong info - why LG would do that ? It is better for them to sell new phones .

some fresh news ?
post your email & LG answer here
i think if there is a update, it must 4.2.2 and Optimus L9 don't update above that 4.2.2
Would be sweet if true, but considering LG is going to release L9 II, I find this hard to believe.
LG never updates its devices. I had the P500 and it got 2.3 from 2.2 and then was abandoned. We got 4.1 from 4.0. Most likely we will not get 4.2 or 4.3 officially for this phones considering they're almost 1 year old and it's not a flagship device.
Question....
But do we have hardware strong enough to run 4.3 or upcoming 5.0?
Then Lg must update our phones...

Our hardware is definitely strong enough to run 4.3 (I am currently running it right now, its smoother than stock 4.1.2) and probably 5.0 too.
Sadly, just because our hardware can run something doesn't mean LG is required to update it. I think we have a chance though, they might give us 4.3.

[BOUNTY] Easier Way to Unlock Bootloader of P769

I don't know if this is the right place to post this. I think we should pool our efforts and provide a collective bounty to a dev that can successfully unlock the bootloader without having to flash 20b euro kdz.
I will start by officially offering $25. Come on, guys... we can do this.
UPDATE: Here is the total so far....
Me: $25
fastwanabe: $25
jpeterson066 $20
Total: $70

Nice to see somebody stepping up to put their money towards this. Since there's no development here, I think this will probably be moved to the general section.
Anyways, if somebody could figure out a way to automatically flash the European ICS firmware followed by the JB firmware, unlocking the boot loader would be as easy as enabling USB debugging then waiting 30 minutes, then inputting the OEM unlock code.
Even better, if a talented developer could reverse engineer the lg KDZ flashing tool like other developers did with ODIN, unlocking the boot loader and unbricking a soft brick would be so much easier.

The problem with offering money for this is, in a month or two when there's an easier method, you would've already successfully unlocked its boot loader because you did sufficient research and you didn't give up after you failed a few times. Granted some of the tutorials could be rewritten or simplified, I know the one I used was written in horrible English by an Indian fella and it took me a while.

[PETITION] Unlock Bootloader All Variants

Let's all sign this, guys! I just find the whole process of flashing a P760 kdz on a P769 ridiculous and unnecessary.
This is laziness on LG's part and I think it's disrespectful to us as consumers. They can try to pass the blame to the carriers but ultimately, they manufacture the device and we purchased it.
They should have asked the people that ensure a steady profit for approval and not another greedy corporation. Let's sign.

You are probably addressing the wrong people. LG doesn't really care. It's T-Mobile who requested to lock be bootloader, LG cannot go against it. They may unlock p760/65 although I don't really know how they are sold in Europe and what are the pricing models. P769 is very unlikely, T-Mobile will not do it because they sell this phone very cheap (been seen for $150 on Amazon) and without their plans. It's their way to screw it up as much as they can and lower its perceptive value so people would go for more expensive phones and plans.
I chatted with a T-Mobile rep not too long ago and he told me that the manufacturer is responsible for releasing the unlock token.
The cheap phone thing doesn't make sense, though. You can easily unlock the very cheap Huawei Summit and load CyanogenMod 7.2 on it. I did it for my mom's Summit.

If you genuinely can't be bothered to flash the KDZ and make it work, you probably don't need an unlocked boot loader. The fact that they unlocked the P760 allowed all of us to get unlocked bootloaders and I think that's plenty enough.

A group of nerds from a forum website on a phone that's a year old and past it's life cycle (sadly) isn't going to match up to a multi-billion dollar South Korean electronic/appliance manufacturer, with thousands of shareholders and investors. And what do we have? Oh, wait, oops.

(Q) What is....

I'm new to the device and I've seen a few things unfamiliar to me such as GEEB & Geespr...I googled GEEB and only came across ROM threads with GEEB in the title. I've checked all the threads for the device hoping to find a clear definition. I couldn't find anything, so what is GEEB and Geespr ?

Unlocking is required before bloatware can be removed, also needed for installing recovery used to flash custom ROMs. If you bloat is removed without unlocking you will get security error soft brick upon reboot needing lgnpst to restore.
