I have rooted Mega 6.3 i9205 with stock rom (XXHUAMH2) and the CWM recovery that i downloaded here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2369998 doesn't work after flashing it with odin and it goes back to the original stock recovery. I tried a lot of ways but to no avail.
Is there anyone here to successfully boot into CWM recovery mode? Thanks. Please help
Did you try this one?

There is one trick you have to do:
After flashing CWM you HAVE TO go to recovery immediately, before booting into ROM. After that you can reboot from CWM and it will be permanent.
If you reboot to system instead, there stock recovery will be automatically reflashed.
I have flashed CWM successfully using this method.
Thank for the replies. Now I got it

I've tried flashing recovery via Odin and CWM Recovery and it will reboot into recovery just fine. However, when I let it reboot into android, turn it off, and then go back into recovery, CWM is gone. The phone, however, stays rooted.
Any idea what could be wrong or how to fix this?
Secondly, if I can get into CWM immediately after flashing, is it safe to flash a new ROM at that point or do I need to get CWM to stick first?
Anyone? Any suggestions at all will be appreciated

Sure... You can flash a rom immediately following the flash of cwm.... Did you also install busy box?
Which cwm are you trying to use? 5.8.4.7 seems to do me good....?

Before your phone boots after installing cwm in Odin do a battery pull then boot into recovery (Volume Up+Home+power) then flash your superuser/root package. It will stick then.

I tried using that CWM version as well as an older one. Both work and I can get busy box and superuser installed once it boots up. But when I power down and try to go back into recovery, CWM is gone. I do get to keep root though.

I tried unchecking the auto-reboot button on Odin 4 and 7, and going that route. Both allow me to get into CWM, where I try to flash the recovery v5.zip. Still doesn't stick unfortunately.
My flash counter is up to about 10 now, trying to get CWM to stick..

Thanks everyone. I used CWM toolkit, reflashed the stock recovery, then used odin 3.07 to re-flash CWM 5.5.0.4 and it stuck.
My Galaxy gio is rooted and is with a clockworkmod recovery. Yesterday, I tried to flash a custom kernel. After flashing successfully (through cwm recovery), i reboot my phone and then it stuck at boot screen.
I did many searches but cannot understand any.
I can go into recovery and download mode which is i think so required by odin.
I wonder if I can flash any stock rom again easily. Can anyone provide me with a zip file with which i can put in sd card and install zip through cwm recovery by which i can unbrick my phone. I tried wipe data and factory reset but nothing worked. Plz help:crying:

You can better go to the Gio Q&A/General section
And ask again.
There are more experienced people over there.

Hi..check my post here and flash one of those recoveries from @Silesh.Nair post from his signature as those have kitkat support and are needed to flash these newer custom roms, after flashing one of those recoveries in the download mode with odin (i use odin v3.07) put the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.93.zip file on your sdcard and flash it with the recovery.
Note: When you flash any one of those recoveries after flashing it you must go directly back into the recovery mode when your phone reboots as if you do not the stock recovery will be installed again..you only have to do this once and after that it will not go back to the stock recovery..try this and see if it gets you back on track.

I've successfully rooted my I9300, actually I wanted to install recovery and try new ROMSsso I went to the method with recovery install through ODIN. But it didn't work for me as the matter was overwriting of stock revovery, I tried every method there to somehow get recovery installed. But all failed. Finally went to CF AutoRoot method and I only have root access now, the phone feel a bit slow now.
1. When an root app is run it takes a lot time to prompt me with root grant/deny(precise to say some app shown timeout). What's the problem?
2. Can somebody say how to get custom recovery in this condition?
3. I have backed up the efs and got two backup files as these[efs.raw.img-20 MB & modem.bin-12.1 MB] . Is it all? anything missing?
After getting a recovery I will make a NANDROID Backup. But please help me in the above three questions.
Thanks for your kind reply.
1. Factory reset
2. You can't, not with a stock firmware
3. Depends how you backed up

for the 2. If I can't with the stock firmware how to do it then? Pretty sure there is a way, that's what I'm asking.
Flash recovery with Odin then reboot straight into recovery and flash custom rom, if you allow stock firmware to boot it will overwrite recovery.
There is a guide in sticky thread.

Instead of all those button presses can I just install the CWM through ROM Manager. Is there any problem with that actually?
EDIT: or please at least say me how to block stock recovery overwrite through Terminal Emulator or what else.

Please also find all required files for rooting the Elephone S8 at:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/k1ldc..._root.rar/file
I hope this helps.
Has anyone been able to resolve this?
I chose to restore my phone to factory settings and it just won't stop booting to recovery now.
I tried to flash Eragon but still the same thing.
I am using TeamWin Recovery.
Please help.
Thanks!
Just in case anyone will find this useful...
I resolved this by flashing back the stock ROM using SP Flash Tool.
