BeanStalk Rom for 5" Player, International? - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

I don't have enough posts to reply to the Development section, but I'm really digging this ROM. For me, most everything works including GPS. I've used Sygic and am really impressed with the speed in which the GPS locks (in doors). I will be on this Rom for awhile. Everything is super smooth using the Apollo Launcher. The Beanstalk over the air updates don't work and the battery takes longer to charge then 10.1. Maybe this will be fixed in future updates.
I would be interested if anyone on this Rom has suggestions for the included Android Tweaker program. Are there any settings which benefit the Rom? Also, are there any developer options which improve the Rom.
Everything I use my player for works great on BeanStalk: GPS, Bluetooth music streamer (car stereo), and Music Player. Great Job Meticulus!

For my US Player 5.0, applying the settings in the 3rd post below made a huge difference.. Night and day. You need adb working to do them.

Best player for straight forward listening and quality?

Can you guys recommend me one (or some) of the top media players for music? I've read many reviews but many players seem to be bloated with unnecessary things like online music/radio, syncing, lyrics, and other things that I don't personally need. All I'm interested in is something that presents a very nice UI, is easy to use, can create a now playing list (unlike Ipods..) and can enhance stock sound quality.
From reading, I think my best bet so far is Poweramp but I was just wondering if there were any good free ones out there or others I might want to consider.
Thanks!
edit: Also, to go along with this, I'm interested in what I can use to transfer/sync music from my computer to my phone. With wp7 Zune made it very easy to drap and sync, see what was already sync'd, etc.
If you had a Zune, you might like Ubermusic

I just downloaded the trial and am testing it out now. Yeah, its really good.comparing it with the stock player on my wp7...there's no comparison.seriously impressed. I don't have an sd card or case yet so for now I'm sticking with my windows phone for music at the gym but I will almost definitely buy this app as soon as I do get my full library up on here.
There's no way to use the zune software to communicate with my phone to sync is there? For now I used windows media player to sync but am wondering if there are better options...

I use double twist. Has a nice UI and works well enough for me.
I also just downloaded N7 which is getting fantastic reviews. I only have one album on my phone so kind of hard to really see how it works. Reviews are stating it's better than power amp. So far I like power amp better... anyone try both?
I have both and poweramp wins hands down
Does stock music app already have the equalizer there in settings?
I, in general, hate to use any third party apps that do almost the same as stock unless i removed stock app.

Poweramp is a great app. I tried them all and lucked up Poweramp when it was first released. It is well worth the price. The development has been spot on with ongoing support and regular updates..I I have used it across multiple rooms Samsung stock captivate, cm7, cm9, gnotes gingerbread and have never once noticed a glitch or incompatibility of any kind. The sound reproduction is excellent. I use it for audiobooks and to play podcasts downloaded with dogpile... The ui is intuitive, and still offers tons of tweaks and optimizations... Then there is the fact that the ui, as anything well designed tends to be, is down right elegant and a pleasure to use. Seriously, you will not regret the purchase.

I like Rocket Player because it works well with isyncr and isyncr wifi. It's free in the basic version and $2 for the unlocker which has more features.
Rocket Player is new but it promises to give Power Amp some competition.
Power Amp is no doubt the best but I don't need all of its features.
PowerAmp might be better than it used to be, but I think Player Pro is the best one on the market right now. It looks great, it's not some custom crazy interface (hello PowerAmp, even though it's a little better in 2.x), easy on battery, great widgets, lots of updates, the browsers are great looking and easily configurable, etc..
player pro
i use player pro it does the same a poweramp . excellent quality eq
I have tried literally everyone out there. Poweramp, Player Pro with the dsp options, n7, google music, the stock music player, installed beats audio etc. The best all around player would have to be a tie between power amp and player pro (with the Dsp addon)... but if you are into some serious sound quality and you really like tweaking and personalizing your sound use Neutron Music Player. It is seriously underrated, but the UI is kinda funky and it doesn't organize your music very well.
I just tried player pro and compared it with power amp. Player pro is nice, I love the interface but it still doesn't sound quite as good as power amp, even with the dsp add-on IMO. It's a shame because I really like the interface on player pro much better. It also seems to run smoother within android.

Bluetooth Audio Streaming

I picked up my Note the other day and I have come across an interesting situation.
My Mazda3 has built in Bluetooth and I can stream to it no problem. When I did so on my old Infuse, the display on my car only ever said BT, no track number or play timer. Now with the Note, there are areas that show the track and play time. When I play anything with the Samsung music app, the track number increments properly, but the play time stays at 0:00. With Google Music, any track I play shows 600 for track number and the play time stays at 0:00.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
EDIT: I should probably mention that for now I'm on stock Gingerbread.
Yea, it's just the way the software works with a2dp from what I understand. Every music app will be a bit different if they support the feature at all.
But then why didn't the Infuse have the same behavior?

Infiniti G37xS
I'm encountering issues. On the stock Note GB ROM, mp3 tag data was showing up in the display of my factory head unit on my Infiniti G37xS.
After applying the ICS leak, this functionality no longer works. This also worked with my Skyrocket and the stock ROM. In all cases, I was using the default "Music Player" application.
Does anyone know of any market players that support tag (or even album art) over bluetooth?
Thanks,
-MK
Thanks to all poster or submitting such useful information, really liking the forum and members for their great support

Sounds like some of the functionality isn't complete or was left out of the ICS leak. Could be either the BT driver or the Music app. Let's hope it gets better with future leaks or official.
I would like to know if there are any apps that support full track info.

Different build? Not sure. This is the first phone I've ever had that displays info on the screen. I've used bt streaming since the tilt 2

I just sent an email to the developer of PowerAmp on this exact subject. I have a Lexus that works just fine with my Son's 4S - displays everything on the screen. So it must be doable and its good to hear that at least GB Note has it somewhat working - so I think it is up to the app developers to get there code tweaked to support it.

Any news from that Dev?
Also CM9 is supposed to enable the track number, time and track info display.
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/20091-request-avrcp-13-for-cars-w-bluetooth-built-in-etc/page__st__30
So there are some differences in ICS versus Gingerbread which give me some hope.
So now on ICS using the same version of Google Play Music Instead of getting the 600 as the track number and 000 as the play time, i just get dashes. But on ICS I actually get the rest of the track info, like artist, song and album. So two steps forward, one step back.
I have included some photos
ICS likes to pause music for a split second while the camera snaps a photo, so BT shows as paused and continues showing that even after playback has resumed. So in the photo you can't actually see the dashes I described.

few questions I'm unable to find clear answers on.

First off i want to say thanks for the help everyone. I'm on cm9 and solved most issues myself but I few I'm having problems with. First the native music played force closes when I try and search for a song. Its no big deal since I could just use gmusic. Jw if others have this problem? The next is what app does everyone use to have a video cam iv seen lots of different posts on it so I'm just trying to get a clear answer on that. Last is has anyone gotten svoice to work on cm9? Mine force closes all the time. I was wondering if it was maybe the download (got the apk from the op) or if there is a mortified version on it for cm9 and the photon? Thanks once again folks

1) Apollo is brand new and still in beta. Could very well be a problem with the app and not necessarily the rom
2) videocam illusion, download from market.
3) svoice?

Its not apallo its still just music. I'm on 6.1 but have had this problem since v1.
Thanks
And S-voice its one of the best apps for talking to your phone. Its from the sgs3 iv seen it run on lots of phones

Not sure why the music player force closes. It would do that to me if i tried to skip songs too fast. I can say i have no issues with Apollo though, very smooth and the widget has a previous song button. Video camera illusion is the best camera at this point in time with no drivers. Every now and then it will lag but just restart the app and the problem goes away. And i have been unsuccessful at making svoice work. I tried installing the apk, using the flashable zip, mixing in with my gapps when i updated, and even changed my build.prop to match the SGSIII but still no luck.
Reflash.

Apollo is pretty spartan for a music player. If you enjoy music a better player might serve you better. I recommend PlayerPro, but it's $4.99. For a free music player, the MIUI player is not bad (works on any ROM... I think it worked on stock Gingerblur too).
I don't use video. Apparently Video Illusion is the only one. I haven't cared enough to try it.
S-Voice isn't compatible with our phones. Those straight rips don't always work. Have you tried Dragon Go, Speak to It, or Vlingo? They are all rated highly and work well with our phone. None of them are very good, and even Siri isn't that good in real-world applications, from what I've heard. Voice commands have a hell of a long way to go. They worked flawlessly in Star Trek, but there's a reason we're not using them on desktop computers. The technology is just not reliable. So you cannot expect miracles out of an ARM processor running Java, or whatever iOS runs exactly. It's simply unreasonable.

[Q] Implementing AVRCP v1.3/v1.4 for i9100 ROM's

Hi there peeps....
I don't post very much because I usually google my way to everything I need to know... but every google I've tried leads me to dead ends on this one!
There are many ROM's out there with AVRCP v1.3 bluetooth. Much respect to those developers!
I have a Kenwood car stereo and it displays Track/Artist/Album information when using Vanilla RootBox/AllianceROM/CM10 etc etc
But, the one ROM which I really love does not support this, MIUI. Every variation I have tried only streams the audio, no track info.
I have tried replacing all bluetooth related files from a known working ROM into the most recent MIUI (of the same Android version) but it just breaks the functionality all together. With Alliance ROM I noticed a service "Samsung AVRCP" when I backed it up using Titanium, I suspect this has something to do with it.
I'm no developer myself but I do have some programming experience (not android though) so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
So...
Q: How does one implement AVRCP v1.3 (or higher) into a ROM?
Bump

What music player app are you using?

I have been a longtime user and fan of PowerAmp. It has been the best music player (IMO of course) up to this point. Well it seems
as there is only one developer that manages and writes PowerAmp. This has resulted in loss of functionality to certain degrees, and form
with using PowerAmp on any Android version 5x and higher. Apparently the developer has bitten off more than he could chew in a reasonable
fashion, leading to no updates from a V3 Alpha form in over a year. So all there is in stable form is V2 that works on Kitkat and below versions.
Using V2 on a newer Android version 5x+ results in losses of quite a few functions, but still usable in ways. This leads me to my question...
What are you using for a non streaming music app? I am looking for superb sound feedback, Edge screen functionality, and adjustable parameters
to tune sound feedback such as Hi-Res to take advantage of onboard DAC functions. All feedback is appreciated, as I look forward to your responses.
Thanks much!
I'm still using PowerAmp
PowerAmp is still my app of choice. The alpha can work directly with the HD capabilities of the Snapdragon 835.

PowerAmp. It does what I want and then some.
Hell yeah, poweramp since release here. I'm wondering why I lost the hi-res output option though coming from the N4 to the N8 though? And I used the same apk.
I've been using Media Monkey for years now. Tried and bought them all for android and always go back to Media Monkey.
PowerAmp - Nothing better
+1 PowerAmp
GoneMad Music Player
I used PowerAMP for many years, but switched to Stellio. It's a much better player in my opinion, lots of customization and the UI is so beautiful.
I've been using Rocket Player. My use case is probably different those others, though. I'm a long time iTunes user and have Apple Lossless music. Rocket Player can play those.

Neutron.
Lots of actually usable setting options... like MX Player but for audio. The claim to be for "audiophiles" brought me to it.

I am using both poweramp and the Samsung player from the app store. I like the way the samsung player integrates with the phone perfectly. It is strange that it is not pre loaded with the phone but I guess Google is trying to push theirs.

Wonder why hi-res isn't available, but was on the note 4?
Was a long time PowerAmp user but for some reason, which I can't recall at the moment, I was encountering an issue which lead me to try JetAudio.
A year later and JetAudio is my player of choice. I still use PowerAmp on my Shield Tablet but for everyday use, JetAudio never fails to impress.
Only caveat is that all of its sound plugins, excluding the default one, require you to purchase a license but you can try them before you buy.
What is the name of that music player
