Video player not opening/Force Close in 4.3 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys I have a 4.3 Stock GNA5 version S3.
Whenever I open the stock video player, it force closes and says "Unfortunately, video has stopped".
But If i try to open the videos via Gallery of QuickPic, and when I select the Stock Video player to play the video, it works flawlessly.
Only problem is the Stock Video Player app doesn't open.
Steps I've already tried :
-> I already cleared the data and cache from the Application Manager several times.
-> I rebooted the phone several times.
-> I went into the stock recovery and did "wipe cache partition" too.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I think you have unsupported / corrupted video in the device, so when the video player launches and tries to analyze the vid for quick preview, it fails and crushes.
I suggest removing all your vids from device (internal & external) and trying again

Reflash your rom or use a different video player mx player should be good enough i guess

Amazon MP3 Cloud Player force close

Was running Vegan Tab Ginger Edition, amazon mp3 cloud player running fine no issues. Updated kernal, amazon mp3 stopped playing. Have wiped davlic, cache, factory/data and reinstalled without the kernal, still doesn't work. Repeated force closes. Tried all fixes, unmounted data and system when flashing vegantab. Downloaded different files. No matter what I do mp3 doesn't work, simply force closes.
Installed Cyanogen Mod, runs fine. No problems with player.

Have done a complete wipe back to stock and reinstall of all programs: clockwork, market, and flash. Reinstall Vegan tab and amazon mp3, still force closes, won't play any music or allow me to purchase music.
Help anyone?

flash player

since insalling the ICS rom i now only get sound and no video on sites playing flash video..is anyone else having the same problem or know of a solution
No problem. Are you using the standard browser? Maybe update or reinstall the flash player?
have tried using most browsers stock dolphin (mini and hd) also have uninstalled and reinstalled flash...and it is supposedly the latest version from the market (play store)
If you are using Dolphin, Press menu button, touch "More" button, select Settings
In Dolphin Settings, change User Agent to Desktop (instead of Android (default)) and see if that doesn't resolve the problem. If not you might have to uninstall Adobe Flash player then reinstall it again.

ICS 4.0.4 seems to break a lot of videos

It might be me, but since both my Galaxy Note and S2 have OTA upgrades to ICS4.04 they refuse to play a number of video files that they DID play before.
Is this a feature. It affects all AVI and some MP4 - but I have played them in earlier software versions
Both phones unrooted
Download MXPlayer from the Play Store and this should enable you to play your videos. However, I am on 4.0.4 and I can play all the video files that you listed.

If I were you I would:
- wipe cache and dalvik cache. See if that solved the problem. If not, then:
- download my firmware from sammobile.com, do a full wipe and then flash it. If still not:
- nope
DoWnload mx videoplayer from here :https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad&hl=en
And do not forget to download arm v7 codec of mx player ( forget about stock player , and. no this app doesnt require root)

[Q] YouTube app crashes

Hi,
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 and I'm running Helly Bean (custom ROM).
Whenever I start the YouTube app,a message appears saying "This action isn't allowed" then after I click to watch a video the app totally crashes.
What could be wrong? I tried reinstalling it but didn't help..
Thanks in advance!
reinstall it
try using a system app like android tuner and look up the app there. open the option for that app and it will allow you to delete its caches and data. if that fails, try wiping dalvic cache.
Both suggestions didn't work :\
Just wait 24 hours then retry.
Same problem with my Samsung Galaxy Note2
Same problem with my Samsung Galaxy Note2 (sgh-i317m) rooted..
"unsupported video format" and "this action isn't allowed" on YouTube..
reset app preferences and clear cache
