Possible to Double tap screen off when not on lock screen? - AT&T HTC One (M8)

I love the double tap on and off. But it appears that double tap off only works when on the lock screen. Is it possible to adjust a setting and have double tap screen off from any screen?

For some reason HTC did not include that option. I know some launchers allow you to do this and I'm pretty sure there is also an Xposed framework that can do it too (Need to root).

You can set double tap gesture with nova launcher. I use a tasker action to lock it, but theres also screen lock apps on gplay

This is exactly what I do with Apex Launcher and Tasker with Secure Settings. Double tap home screen re-locks the device.

Still waiting on my One but does double tapping the status bar work to sleep the phone when on other screens other than the home screen?

Thanks guys! I am rooted, running Skyfall but that rom doesnt have xposed. Will try tasker win conjunction with Nova launcher! That power button on top with this long phone is just too cumbersome lol

found an app called tap tap app that does this

found an xposed module that can do this
doubletaptosleep is the name of the module
double tap the status bar and phone goes to sleep.
works great

I love my g2 for that feature but want an m8 so bad hope they make an update for that.

I use the power control plus app, it has a widget that you can control most everything with.
You can disable this issue in agile lock settings. Look got the double lock section, and pick one that works with your phone.

why am getting icons on home screen after download when the option "auto-add widgets"

why am getting icons on home screen after download when the option "auto-add widgets"
I am using nova launch with my sig device and rom, in google play store, I have the option "auto add widgets" option unchecked, yet I am still getting shortcut on my home screen, why is that so?

The problem wasnt playstore -- it was nova. go into nova settings, new apps...it should be in there. uncheck.

Thanks.
This is stupidity on Nova's part, why having the same option in Nova when it's already part of Google Play.

A: How to change front buttons

Go into settings
tap menu button at the bottom -> Switch to tab view
Go to display tab, there is the "Front touch buttons". You can change the buttons and the color.
I could never find it in the list view.
This is useful on the verizon lg g2. Probably already tab view and easy to find on the other ones.

No need to change to tab view. It's under "Display".
Where do we change the lock screen apps on the bottom?

[Q] tap to sleep?

hi guys i want to ask if there is any tap to sleep app for this phone
That is a good idea. What to know too..
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I downloaded widget locker to do that. So far it's not a standard feature of android yet.
I'm glad it doesn't have tap to sleep.
I use double tap to enter app drawer on Nova Launcher.
I use app called (screen off and lock)
by katecca. you can find it on playstore.. it does the job very simply

There is also sleep button app that stays on your notification bar so that you dont habe to go back to the home screen
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock&hl=en
Im using this one pretty good one
I´m using Invisible Lock Widget
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.casablanca.lockwidget&hl=en
I don't know if the Z2 has a customizable quick launch (you know that thing where you swipe up to get to Google Now) as I don't yet have my Z2...but with my HTC One on CM11 I set the left quick launch bubble to "screen off", which allowed me to quickly turn off the screen from within any app. It's by far the best way to turn off your screen.

Double Tap screen to turn on/off not working with Nova

I am using Nova launcher, I can double tap screen to turn it on no issues.
I saw that with the v10 you can double tap the screen to shut it off as well. If I use the LG luancher it will turn off with double tap, but when using nova double tap will not shut off.
On the lock screen it will doubletap to turn off.
Any suggestions on how to get this feature working using nova?
my att v10 works with nova. double tap at top of screen
Use the screen off and lock app, and create a knock gesture in Nova Settings attached to the app

I haven't heard of that app. I will look it up. Thanks.
Download this app and set it up, works perfect for Nova double tap to turn off on any phone I've used.
If you entered the hidden settings at all..then it breaks the knock on. Pretty stupid bug to make it past testing

What I've found on all LG devices is that the Knock On feature works all the time. Knock Off on the status bar works all the time as well. Knock Off on an empty space on the Desktop seems to be specific to LG's launcher.
As was mentioned previously, the best way to replicate that with Nova Launcher is to install the "Screen Off and Lock" app and assign it to a double-tap gesture in Nova Launcher.
I'm using double tap for another app with Nova, never did anything special, it just worked from the start.

No sorry. Hidden settings within the phone itself by doing whatever that code was. I only did it once and me and few other guys confirmed it in another thread.
Enter service ..hidden.. Menu..it crashes...knock on stops working . i am using stock launcher
Doesn't work on my TMo V10...I like the feature so I am using the LG launcher.

I use screen off and lock to swipe up from the soft keys instead of Google now. Works in just about every screen, not just home
Install this:
Than set this in Nova Prime:

Are you talking about the Developer settings? If so, I've gotten into on mine and knock on and off still works.
