Xblast tools make bar smaller. Try it out! I also used gravity box for hiding bar completely too.

How do you remove the navigation buttons in the camera app?
Edit: nvm it's in default.xml
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

I'm using Ultimate Dynamic Navbar. I can set the Navbar transparent and only use the last 2 pixels at the bottom of the screen.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

There's always PIE, if you don't want to give ANY screen space to nav buttons.

I had trouble getting the build.prop line to work until I changed it to all lowercase, FYI.
i.e. qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
not Qemu.hw.mainkeys=1

Is that the prism launcher by chance?

Maybe I'm missing something but what's the point when you have hardware buttons? It just seems kinda foolish to waste that screen space.

The hardware buttons drain note battery. You can have the search and menu accessible on the nav bar, plus instant access to Google now and long press search. With CMX yes you can get access to some of these features via long press, but not all of them. It's a choice for people, it doesn't have to be used, but there are some of us that like it and prefer it.
i put a little bit of time into this mod today
softkeys.zip- adds the on screen nav bar
softkeys2.zip- adds the on screen nav bar and disables the physical buttons (the backlight still turns on i didn't look to hard at trying to disable them)
the search key is something i have looked into a lot and i didn't find any solid How-to's on how to enable it i know it involves the SystemUI and the navigation_bar.xml but i haven't found a JB rom with it turned on by default without a tweak to access it
Okay so spent a little more time with it today and I got all the keys up, the button lights are still on, not sure what is causing it and it looks like I borked the app switcher for the moment but here is proof of concept

Adding the line "echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/button_backlight/max_brightness" to the post boot file kills the button lights.

That's because the tegra 3 uses 5 cores not 4. The 5th core is a very low frequency "companion core" that is used for background or low resource tasks

its the "Dark Holo Cards" theme from mycolorscreen.com, its designed for use with the nexus 4(720p) but can work with 1080p
I did not use the wallpaper part and also the circle battery widget trips out on our phones, it takes a little toying around to get everything right (its actually 5 themed screen)
Dark Holo Cards
I might also warn that as you add more of the "widgets" to the home screen it starts to lag out, same thing with when moving from screen to screen after its setup its a little laggy, not sure if its an issue with the phone or with nova launcher compatibility

No you have to root, and I made all those icons. It is impossible to change any sense icons unless you root and modify framework/system files.

Hey guys,
Please show your home screen setup and any mods that you guys use.
Since day one I have been using
. Nova launcher premium
. Zooper widgets
. Min arch mod for zooper
I use quick gesture from nova which I found really useful with the current setting: Double tap to launch app that turn off and lock screen, one finger swipe down to bring down notification, and one finger swipe up to bring up recent app.
Interested to know what other mods you guys are using that make your G2 your own.

Most likely through the use of an xposed module that plays with your framework.

Does that have an option to change status bar color based on the app you're in, like the ios look?
I just checked that this depends on the app if they have enabled transparency. Some apps that are utilizing such is Spotify ang HTC Zoe (Beta) so most likely app devs should update their apps to use transparency and have an elegant looking when the app is used.

when I had xposed installed on my G2 there was a module to make the status bar take the same color as the header of the app you are using like in iOS, I kinda wish there was one. Or if there is one, I wish I was aware of it.

Use the Xpoded framework with the module "Tinted Status Bar". Some apps you have to set the colour yourself but in general it works great.
