[Q] Cant access power menu (EFS folder?) - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well, I installed a few 4.3 roms to check them out, and I had some problems.
One of the roms corrupted my EFS (had a backup). But now I got signal back and everything
Thing is when I long-press power button, it just shuts down, I cant access power menu anymore.
What could the issue be?
EDIT: Thing is, before flashing these roms, the button worked perfectly fine. I just pressed it to recovery mode. Now it just shuts down.
EDIT 2: Fixed it. The culprit was Factory Mode. Hahaha, hopes this helps people.

Im having this problem again, and Factory Mode didnt solve it. Anyone happened this before?
I was using a 4.3 rom fully working, and then I just restored a nandroid. Then I dont know how I lost my EFS folder. I restored it but Im still having the power menu problem.
I tried using the factory mode line change and it didnt work. Now I long press my power button and it justs shuts down.

[Q]What's wrong with it? (Phone freezes)

After i flashed Android 2.2, downloaded from samfirmware.com, the phone suddenly started acting very strange.
Ex: When i'm playing a game, let's say Angry Birds, after a few rounds it just freezes and i can't do anything, except for power off button, but when it comes back on i don't have access to anything anymore. I can see just the wallpaper and the menu bar from the bottom, but when i want to open the app menu, it just shows the loading icon and nothing happens...
The only solution i got so far is to pull out the battery and restart it, i also did a Factory Reset after flashing the firmware...
any ideas?
flash some motafoca rom, also NEVER pull battery, it can brick your phone in an unrecoverable way (efs corrupt) just press volume up+middle button+power and after a ffew sconds it will reboot
tried that combination also, but it doesn't work... if i don't pull out the battery, i have no other way of restarting it, i know its risky, but its all i can do
guess i'll just pack it in its box and send it back, don't want to move over to custom roms just yet, hope i can solve this issue first
thx for your suggestion
/edit: what's the button combo for the Recovery Menu guys? i can get into Download mode with VolDown+Home+Power, but i cant find the right combination for Recovery
Never had this problem with Angry Birds. Maybe it is another app you have installed?
i counldn't figure out what exactly is causing this strange issue, so i decided to send it at warranty, i got it back a few days ago and everything is fine right now, they just did a soft reinstalation (at least this is noted on the warranty sheet)

[Q]HELP!!! I lost clock work mod

HELP!!! I installed shostock rom that worked well for sometime….however yesterday when I went running, I was listening to audio and at the same time I was using an app called Mapmyrun, The phone then suddenly just died. No matter what I pressed it wouldn’t come on. Eventually it did come back on after I pressed the volume up button along with the power button and the home button together and at the same time putting the battery back in. Since then I can’t make a call without using the speaker and while trying to play audio, the audio sticks. I decided I needed to reinstall rom or even try a new one but discovered the phone will not boot into clock work mod. When I try the phone just goes dead again and I then have to do the whole volume up button along with the power button and the home button together and at the same time putting the battery back in again. How do I get CWM again so I can wipe?
So holding down the power button doesn't pull up the boot to Recovery option?
What version of Shostock are you running?
XWLP7-SHOstock2-v2.2.2
Now I've actually got it to go to cmw by holding volume up and down together while pressing the home button and replacing the battery simultaneously. When Itry to reboot however it just goes dead and I have to do the whole process again. How do I get it to reboot?

What phone do you have?
EDIT: XWLP7? I9100?
You're flashing a I777 rom on a I9100?
Alright, you get closer.
At first you said you lost CwMR, then you described how to get into CwMR a totally wrong way, then you got in CwMR eventually.
I suggest you spend time and read more on those threads created by creepy. He shows you everything from how to get into the Download mode, how to get into the 3e, .......
Also, fundamental thing, do list your device info if you want more useful help.
Back to your stage, you said you got into CwMR successfully, then reboot???
Have you done anything when you got there? reflashing? wiping? ...... or just got there and reboot and did nothing else?

[Q] Galaxy Exhibit stuck on boot

I have a T-679. it is only lightly modded. I still have stock UVLE1 with Clockworkmod recovery...v5.5 i think. All has been well until recently I have been trying out a lot of new apps. recently i got the adw launcher and camera sensor. now when i reboot i see one Samsung logo, then tmobile/android logo and jingle, then another Samsung logo and it hangs here. if i wait some time and start pushing buttons I see that the phone seems to be active. if i push the power button then the vol-up/down i hear the sound of the volume being adjusted. also very curiously i just found that if i hold down the home button and press the power button i hear a shutter sound!? In some instances, haven't figured out if its a particular button press of just random, i can get the lock screen to come up, which then allows me to unlock the phone and all works normally... until i reboot again.
any ideas suggestion how to proceed? Thanks.
edit: I just checked I have CWM recovery v5.5.04,b
I have a backup from a while back and i just made another backup
I also tryied wipe cache/dalvik which i thought it helped because i think it booted directly after that, but i just tryed again and
this time i see no benefit/effect

After wiping everything such as data, cache, dalvik-cache, battery stats in CWM, try restoring the Nandroid backup which you've created. If still, it gives weird issues, fresh install another ROM.

XXLQ8 by Toldo [ROM][CWM] Stock ICS roms, rooted, deodexed, zipaligned [P75xx/R/D/M][T859]
It is very strange. I've been using this good rom for a couple of weeks and had no such problems with it... So try to downgrade the tab by flashing samsung stock rom based on Android 3.2 via Odin with pit file and repartition. Odin will erase all partitions, flash all components in its original state.
p.s. Do it very carefully with at least 50% charge. Flashing with pit file is dangerous as it can brick your tab if something went wrong unfotunately
any solution?

Any fix for this yet?
same here
OK so I was trying to get my tmo sim out of my phone to work in my tablet well it worked 4g was faster than my 60g wifi but anywayz I restored my efs Nov.data file use efs pro and that fixed it for a while flashed stock ics and poof gone
My symptoms were no power button options, power button press would only turn off device, factory mode calculator app on home screen, and no lock screen. Did soft factory reset with one of the these two codes (can't remember which one worked, other one did nothing) *#7780# or *#*#7780#*#* Entered it into the factory mode calculator app.
According to the link below soft factory reset was supposed to be temporary. But I have restarted device many times and everything is back to normal.
Also, my symptoms were most likely caused by trying to delete the contents of my efs folder so that I could unlock device. This failed as contents still managed to return on their own. OR mini sim card adaptor getting stuck in sim card slot.

Power button

Ok, i've searched all over the internet for the same problem and i couldn´t find anyone who've experienced this.
Where's what happened, my power button started to mal-function after my phone restarted. Now i cant lock or unlock the screen with it. The funny thing is that if I press it long enough it shows that [Shutdown/restart] menu. And if i keep pressing it it will soft reset the phone as usual.
I've already tried an app to se wich keys are being pressed to rule out the stuck key problem. The phone no longer recognizes the quick press of the key to lock/unlock, it only recognizes the long press of the power button.
Also today it refused to identify the charger and didn't charge at all, dunno if it as something to do with it.
My phone is the Wiko Wax, rooted, custom rom( Tesla 0.4.9a) android 4.4.4, with custom kernel as well.
I have already re-flashed everything, formated my phone and everything, but it doesn't seem to get fixed.
This started to happen after the phone restarted it self, without me doing anything to it
