Amazon Prime Instant Video does not work - Nexus 9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

You would think that amazon would have updated their app, at least Netflix works.

It's working on N7 with latest preview. Too bad it doesn't work on the N9. We'll see eventually if the official L screws it up on N7 fhd.

Not working on my N7 with the OTA. Give them a few months it only took years for them to bring it to phones and tablets that aren't Kindles.

It's working with official L (N7). I haven't watched more than a few minutes so don't know about the long haul. I flashed the images since I was rooted with custom recovery. I'm using the Amazon app ver. 5.1.0 with Amazon Instant Video app ver 1.0.

The Nexus 9 is deliberately blocked from streaming (due to being a tablet, Amazon is supposedly now enforcing this for new devices). It's not a question of missing updates to the app.

Same thing with Amazon music prime it looks like.

An update: With the latest Nexus 9 LRX21R system update, Amazon Video now seems to work just fine. For more information, check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/help/amazon-prime-video-t2929827/post56933080#post56933080

Not going to do the work to find a new one when it is so easy for someone to find it for themselves ...
And I notice you did not bother to post your newer apk , just complained about the one that is posted.

Updated as of November 17, 201 2- Latest Beta and link to future betas.

Flipboard says they are working on a "big tablet" version for Android, for devices that operate in landscape. The beta version in this thread works, but only works in portrait, and flips top to bottom.
The tablet version will "flip" just like it does on an iPad, left to right like a page turn. Should be out very soon.

realy bad gaming compatibility -real racing 3-

Hey guys, Ive got my Nexus 10 since the first realease batch and I love it soooo much!
Only thing which realy dissapoints me is that there are a lot of aps out there (especially games)
which are not compatible with it.
Top titles like the just released Real Racing 3
I DONT GET IT.... its MADE for a device like the nexus 10....
why they are doing this to me (((
anyone knows a way to download the .apk even its not compatible?
Tegra/THD stuff won't be downloadable from Market (even though Tegra effects shouldn't be an issue on something more powerful than a Tegra 3... but w/e).
As for other games, the developer might just choose to restrict it to the most "popular" devices, and to not risk having negative reviews, mark it as incompatible with everything else. Pretty sure a Nexus 10 isn't as popular as, say, a Nexus 7, GS3, GNote, etc.
Only way to get the apk "legitimately" is to install it to a compatible device, then pull the apk off the device and then sideload it to the N10.
Real Racing 3 isn't released until the 28th?

It's the 28th in Australia. I downloaded RR3 from the play store just then on my Nexus10 and I'm currently download the extra files. Maybe it's a regional restriction?
Maybe he meant real racing 2? That ones not compatible. Not sure. Glad you're able to download it

Guys it's out in USA as of tonight...
Sent from my Nexus 10 using XDA Premium HD app
Tried RR3. It downloaded 4.1 Gb cache but the graphics...black/white/pink textures, no reflections and shadows. Ugly, but runs fine. Better than NFS:MW on 4.2.1 and worse than on 4.2.2 with custom kernel
Im at work currently but assigned the game to my N10 via playstore. Will report in a couple of hours who it works on mine.
It really would be a shame to have such a great game not propperly working on our 'flagship' tablet. Do you maybe have this 4x anti alising thing active?
--edit--
works great without any issues

Works great here too. Maybe you guys changed some graphics settings? Like msaa or forced gpu? Thats caused issues for me in other games.

Here's a video I just made of Real Racing 3 on my Nexus 10 connected to TV with HDMI with FPS Meter running (top left of screen). Recorded with Galaxy S2 at 720p and edited a bit (to hide my rubbish driving )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdcTbyt2fWo
Runs great. FPS drops to just below 30 on a few occasions but not really noticable. Most of the time it is 30-50 FPS. TBH there is some lag in the intro videos and the menus but who cares about that.
.....IF ONLY it had gamepad support!!!!

Pros
Great gameplay
Car damage Seems real
Not to easy
Inside of cars is really detailed
Cons
None so far
What about you guys do you like the game

Yeah real nice game, shame it's so focused on in-app purchases but I've still enjoyed playing it though, pretty good for free.
BTW has anyone got it playing offline? When I try to start the latest version (1.0.56) up without a internet connection it complains that it needs to download an extra 0MB everytime!

I can't get the game to work on my rooted Kindle Fire HD 7" . It starts up, gets to the first logo screen, then crashes. Any ideas what the cause might be? According to the comments on Amazon apps, lots of people are having the same problem.

The download is about 700mb, once extracted & installed yes it's about 1.59GB, still love it though
This is the new version with cloud save option; i pulled it out from my galaxy note 2 and it install fine on my KFHD7.
Since its a free app i assume is not warez but google play marks it not compatible.
The kindle fire edition on amazon appstore still at 1.0.59, anyway its out of reach for those of us outside the USA.

Still don't have the new play store. Don't think Google have ever been so slow.
I got it whilst trying to get the AOKP milestone to play nice. Had to reinstall GApps. Looks good, but I actually miss the old layout.

Yes, the new interface looks better, but I really hope goolge can improve it better just like itunes.
Has anyone actually had the new store pushed out to their N10 yet? I got it on my Galaxy Nexus within a day of when it was announced, and yet still nothing for my tablet. It seems like Google is using the same slow, random, and crap update process they use for pushing OS updates.

I got it 2 days after. What OS Update pushes? You mean all the non-Nexus devices and carrier-locked devices that carriers/manufacturers completely lock down against updates until they can put their blockware/bloatware on it?
EDIT: I do know what you mean by slow and random update process, as it is frustrating, seeing as my phone got the new app store like 3 days after the Nexus 10 did. Just don't feel OS updates are relevant

Not just 4.2.2, every OS update Google has every pushed at since they started the Nexus program. I find it weird the new Play update is doing the same thing, for every other app update in the Play Store every user gets updated at the same time.
Looks good. Thanks

As previously while browsing Top apps, around 20-25 apps would be shown on a single page without scrolling down.

pathetic
i think it looks good after the previous version

I don't think you can use a cable. Early on, there was talk about a build.prop edit that could enable Miracast. I never looked into it as Chromecast works for me. Kodi can be installed on unrooted Chromecast. My mistake. I have it installed on Fire Stick.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't work. I have that set-up for my old Galaxy Nexus (the HDMI adapter isn't with me atm), but I would be using it with my N9 if it had worked. I can test it out next week. We use hubby's iPad mini 2 to connect directly to TV when traveling and can't use Chromecast.

I brought back the connector (https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Supported-Samsung-Sensation-Rezound/dp/B006FTKM12) last night but will try it on my old GNex (which is currently charging) to make sure connector is still functional. Then I'll test N9. I'll post back by 8pm edt.
I'm sure all of this is pointless. I finally located the info re HDMI and Nexus 9 (https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/tAmu4gd8S0U;context-place=topicsearchin/nexus/Nexus$209$20and$20hdmi). It's hardware--not a matter of no software connect (like N4 and usb otg) for an included component. On N9, the hardware isn't included.
MHL absolutely does not work. I'm certain slimport does not work, but I'd never purchased a slimport adapter to actually try it.

After trying to locate the info I used, I realized that I had installed it on my Fire Stick, not on my Chromecast--which is also a 1st gen. I edited that post to show my misinformation. However, I did locate some YouTubes that might help you stream your Kodi to Chromecast. Maybe you already can do that.. This might work, but also read the responses from users. This is another.
