[Q] How do I root a 24.3.7.obakem.en.us Verizon Droid Mini 4.4.4? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I usually have an apple device for my phone but I had to switch plans and all and now I have a Droid Mini. I am new to the android community and rooting and all and it seems very different and harder then jailbreaking. I am really scared that I will mess something up and from what I've been looking through there isn't really a guide to rooting a droid mini 4.4.4. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. I almost used kingoapp but then heard it wasn't very trustworthy. I really don't want to screw up and "brick" my droid mini. Any help is appreciated this is my first android device and I want to root it correctly.

You cant root it unless you unlock the bootloader. And the only way that is likely to work is an app called Sunshine which costs $25..use the search function and it shouldnt be too hard to find

[Q] Going with the Photon, noob and root question

So after seeing the specs on the ET4G, to say I was a bit underwhelmed is putting it mildly. First, let me apologize up front for being a noob, although I am trying to learn so I can "pay for my supper" (if you will). The one thing I like about the Epic is how easy it is to root and install custom ROM/Kernel (currently running the SFR 1.2 with Genocide kernel). Most of my apps require root access, which leads to my question. Basically, for someone who has never had a Moto phone, how easy (if you are a noob) would you say it is to root the phone? And if you came from an Epic, say compared to rooting the Epic (using ODIN and One Click)? I understand there are more than a couple of posts on rooting for the Photon, but from a "noob" perspective, that can seem overwhelming, I don't wanna pick the wrong way and frack my phone right out of the box. Thanks folks!
One click pretty easy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1217416
For the rest is pretty easy. Roms and such will come with time phone is still pretty new source code was just released. Rsd is just ad simple to use as odin.

Thanks for the link, much appreciated.
First time owning an android phone. Had a BB before this. Purchased photon a couple day ago and rooted my phone on first try. If I can do it anyone can.

Some questions involving my droid3

hey everyone. I dont claim any intelligence or know how when it comes to all this hacking and modding but i do wish my droid could do things it cant do now.
i was able to follow the very simple instructions to root my phone but now that it is rooted im not sure *exactly* what benefits this grants me. What i do know, is that ill be able to use wireless tethering without verizon charging me. In trying to make this happen i came across this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358568
(i cant post there being new)
what i want to know is, where can i get Cyanogenmod for my phone? D3 isnt even listed on their site as being a supported device.
and where can i find the required files to preform the radio hack?
lastly and hopefully the easiest question i have is what other benefits does rooting my phone provide me?
id love to be learned a thing or two but please dont kill me for the overly long post.

Root question

So I don't know what all is entailed in rooting a phone.... I'm asking because I don't know and would like to have a basic in a nutshell way of understanding.
Why can't a program like this root more Motorola's it seems like it can root what seems like every other phone.
http://www.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57608195-285/how-to-easily-root-an-android-device/ it seems like Motorola really wants us from changing anything. Since Google bought them is it any easier to root. And if it is why wouldn't a file like this not work.

[Q] [P769] Best ROMs for LG P9 P769?

Noob here! I'm getting ready to try my hand at rooting and unlocking the bootloader on the LG P769 that my friend gave me. I'm somewhat tech savvy, but some of the rooting and unlocking guides are a bit confusing to me. Not too confusing to turn me away though. At any rate, I'm looking for a good ROM to use with my P769 before I root and unlock. From what I've researched so far, the P769 isn't as easy as most other phones. Especially, seeing as mine is running v20H even after a hard reset of the phone. All I've heard so far about rooting and unlocking P76920H is "Damn you LG!" There is one thread I keep coming across (and losing track of because I forget to bookmark it ) with lots of colorful lettering that looks promising to me. Maybe because I'm a noob, maybe because I like colorful shiny things... Who knows, but I think I'm ready to try it if I can find it again.
Back to the subject at hand, I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on a ROM for my LG P769 US T-Mobile once I get around to rooting and unlocking it. I'd love to be able to just use the v20H firmware with app2sd enabled. Wondering also if any type of Nexus software, preferably 4.4.2? would run on it? I'm sure I'll receive some "Stupid Noob!!" comments, but I'll accept them with gratitude, as I am new to this and studying the ins and outs of how all this rooting and unlocking stuff works. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I've done a little research on official and unofficial ROMs for the P769, but everyone with this phone seems to feel forgotten because there are lots of mods for the other P9 models and the P769 is like an unhatched goose egg. I love the phone, just want to get rid of all the bloatware and enable app2sd support. Perhaps rooting, toying with SuperUser and flashing the app2sd enabling scripts would be my best route? hehe... help! please?
Thanks for reading. Hope I'm posting in the right spot. They said Android questions big and small.
Recommendations on LG P769 ROMs anyone?

Newbie Help - Need To Find a New Verizon Phone To Root

I'm new to the XDA forums and need some guidance. I need a fairly new Verizon based phone that supports screen casting and that can be rooted. I was considering the HTC 10 but saw a thread indicating that it could not be rooted for Verizon phones as of yet because USB debugging was hidden (or something to that effect). So, I thought about the LG V10 but I cannot find any directions or videos relating to the Verizon model. It doesn't have to be any of these models. I could go for a Samsung as well but I heard they are harder to root? I really don't know. Basically, if someone could point me to a VZW phone that is relatively new and that can be rooted with directions, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
