[Q] MT6572 Kernel Source leaked by Acer

Excuse me, developers. I recently found the kernel source for MT6572 here : http s://github.com/aniruddha-adhikary/mt6572_kernel. I have 2 questions. 1.)Would I be able to create a kernel for Micromax A77 with this ? It runs on this chipset. If so, how ? 2.)Would I be able to create a custom rom, say, Cyanogenmod with this ? If so, how ? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!
Yes, but it is difficult

Usually, kernels differ from device to device. For example say, this Acer phone the kernel was made for, might just be compatible with your phone... and if that happens. Congo! You have just got your passport to heaven. But, if that is not the case, that is if you phone is incompatible, then you need to do a LOT of hacking to get things working properly.

Well, the basic functionality lies in the mediatek/config and mediatek/custom folders. Take a look at the configs. Compare that to features available to your phone. Use a apps or disassemble your phone to find the model number of sensors and compontents like the LCD and stuff. This will help you to get the configuration right. Getting the configuration right will result in the perfect kernel build.
Thanks
I also use same device micromax a77 find a clonned device named fly iq4404 its touch is not working but it booted without modifications so any one will help me to fix that bug
Sent from my Micromax A77 using XDA Free mobile app

bought this 8 inch tablet from Asda in Uk for my young lad and it updated the firmware straight away here is a copy of the image
http://hugefiles.net/kyypdhg855a0
hugefiles.net/kyypdhg855a0
if anybody needs it
it is a fairly clean rom only has an asda widget which is uninstallable,
cant tell you too much about it as he smashed it about 2 weeks after getting it and it hasnt worked since
i think it was the lollipop update, the pad was pretty decent for £50

Hello,
Thank you very much for sharing the file. The links seem to be dead, as in they're no longer uploaded/accessible from the URL you have provided. Do you think you could share the file again? I apologise for any inconvenience.
Or could anyone share the stock ROM from the P791 tablet from ASDA?
Thank you and kind regards.

i havent got the file anymore - i originally got it from the settings in the tablet,
settings - about tablets - system updates
it just downloaded the file via browser to downloads folder as i recall, and you copy it out before it detects the update file is there.
it downloads from ftp://mypolaroidtablet.com but i cant access that from my laptop without a username and password
i dont recall it asking when accessing from the tablet, which i cant do as its been dropped a couple of times and now the screen is cracked and the wifi doesnt work
regards
k
http://southerntelecom.com/polaroidsupport/updates.html - some update files but doesnt seem to list this one, unless you find one that is compatible

Hey there, I just got one of these p791 Polaroid tablets for Christmas this year.
When I try to do the usual update method (Settings > About tablet > System update) it locks up and I have to force it to stop. So no auto-updates for me.
Currently stuck on KK 4.4.2
Is there anyone or anyway to get this ROM so I can manually install it, or anyone who's had this problem and fixed it so I can just update my tablet.

Hopefully you already got it sorted.. However, if not then you may want to know the tools usually used to fix this device are:
RKBatchTool,
AndroidTool,
Or PhoenixSuit (although I've not managed to get this one to work)
You can do a quick Google search on any of the tools mentioned above as well as find information on the installation process including the flashing of the P791 device.
I wasn't able to get mine turned on again but you may be able to. (Years ago I used these tools and got it working again, but can't seem to do it this time, maybe mines just had it. I think these are the only options for us though and I remember the annoying task of trying to figure it out as the specific device you're talking about, the one from Asda isn't hardly mentioned nor is it even supported by manufactures anymore so now I have an account on here I thought I'd just post this reply ?

**Update**
Since writing my reply to your OP I decided to give it another go and was successful.
I used AndroidTools to complete the process of flashing the stock update.img via the "Firmware" tab. If you need any help doing it feel free to reply to this post!

Help to compile firmware

Hi,
first excuse my bad english, i will try my best.
I made a mistake on my LENOVO TAB 3 10: in ES EXPLORER, I have unselected EXECUTE in properties of /system.
My tablet don't want to know anything and it doesn't start Android anymore.
I don't find a Stock ROM for my model but I have the code sources from LENOVO SUPPORT site.
Is anybody can compile the stock ROM from these code sources for me. Then, I will be able to reflash my tablet from an SD card.
Thanks for your help!!!!!

Dear Dcrin3, thanks for answering so fast. I've already seen the post you gave me the link but my tablet is not a pro model. I've got a YT3-X50 one. And it is mentioned in the post that the process is just fro pro model YT3-X90.
I don't find any built files for my model......
I'm so desperate ! Any other idea please ?

Please help me with custom rom building!!!

we don’t have ms330 sources to build this, (device and vendor files), you need to port this... you can base on devices with similar board and configs, for example: lg leon is similar but board is different
Check this:
Huawey y6 already have custom rom and this is msm8909
You can view this file propietary files and adapt this to ms330

Here's my old M1 device tree:
device
kernel
vendor
I really don't remember how far I got with that, but pretty sure I was far along into getting it to work. I got sick last December and when I got better my K7 was gone, so never finished.

Based on the repos I've posted above that won't be necessary, as my tree is trimmed pretty well. It should build fine and boot to the bootanimation, but then it chokes on dependencies to do with vendor repo stuff, pretty sure. It probalby shouldn't take too much work to get it booting fully. Just fiddly stuff.

[Q] [MOD] Unlock tab/ph bootloader tool by asus, can it support my asus if I edit APK

Hi All,
I have an older android 4.2.2 device that never got an official bootloader unlock from asus. Whats interesting is the attached file made for the same soc as my tablet the zenfone 4 A400CG. So I de-compiled the apk and found that there is a folder for all of the devices asus/unlock/device. Each device has a java file that you can read with a text editor.
See: http://www.javadecompilers.com/result?currentfile=com/asus/unlock/device/A500CG.java
Now what I am wondering if i recreate a file like this one will my device to do a bootloader unlock? Does this jave file do device checks? If it does does it just check back against this jave file for the device info it has?
I'm trying to understand how this unlock tool and how it knows my device is unsupported and if a hack/mod is realistic? The 8.1 version is for android 4.4.x and i'm 4.2.2. I dont think thats an issue because it runs fine in 4.2.2 so I think only the device list is an issue.
Any one care to take a look, its a puzzle lets solve it.. THANKS
