snapchat not working on rooted phone - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey , i rooted my phone , installed snapchat and tried to log in , but it's not signing in . it gives me this message : oh no ! your login temporarily failed, so please try again later . if your login continues to fail , please visit https://support.snapchat.com/a/failed-login
i went to the link and at the end they wrote : Please note: Snapchat works best on devices running original software, and Snapchatters using a "rooted" Android device may experience issues. Rooted devices often circumvent Android security defenses and may not be compatible with Snapchat. so my question is ,: is there a way tolet snaochat think that i don't have root ? i'll try everything you give me .. thank you in advance

Tried rootcloak? It's an xposed module.

Rootcloak wont help. Snapchat blocked anyphone with xposed installed. You need to uninstall xposed get titanium backup, log into snapchat, back up snapchat with titanium backup then reinstall xposed. If snapchat logs you out, use the backup of snapchat to log back in.

it also didn't work. Snapchat checks for Xposed and SuperSU, so the best way is to unroot, uninstall xposed, install snapchat and then install xposed and supersu

I was on stock rom yesterday, rooted with Xposed an Snapchat working, now I'm on CM12.1 and still working fine

Rootcloak via xposed

root is not the problem at all, but Xposed Module is, you must uninstall the xposed framework, install snapchat, login your account, then you can install Xposed again

Does anyone know how to uninstall the Xposed framework? The way I installed it I had to flash a file, then install Xposed through an apk. The uninstall button in my Xposed is greyed out and I can't press it. Uninstalling it by dragging it to the uninstall doesn't seem to work either ????

The only way to do that is by flashing another zip file that is an uninstaller. You can find one if u search a bit

I cannot uninstall system apps even after I ROOTED my android phone

Hi everyone
I managed to root my android phone yesterday (I checked with 2 root-checker apps). Now I'm having trouble removing pre-installed apps like Twitter and Yellow Pages which I never use. I tried few uninstall apps, and after granting them permission from SuperUS, they perform an uninstall (some apps do it forcefully) and give a message that the apps were deleted. The apps are not removed from my application list but when I click on it to run, they give an error message. But when I restart my phone, those apps I deleted start working again as if nothing happened.
What I'm I doing wrong? My phone is HTC One M8, android.
Thank you for any help

Yes, I did that before I rooted it.
I also tried using a File Explorer (rooted version) to uninstall those system app but couldn't find System files. I found a file called Root, but nothing is in the file.

I just tried it now but same problem. I select twitter to delete. It gives me a message that uninstall was successful. I check to see if it's listed on my home page, and it is although when I click on it, it gives an error message. However after restarting the phone, twitter somehow recovers and works again!!! Really strange. It's as if it wasn't uninstalled to begin with.
Does anyone know? I still can't solve it

You need to remove read / write protection. You can do this most easily by flashing a modded kernel (boot.img) through fastboot. Alternatively, there's custom roms that have this already or you can mod a kernel module. There's a guide in the General section of your phone's forum. If you go that route, make sure that the module is compatible with the update you're on as the guide might be outdated.

[Lenovo S650] Help with adware!

I am having this problem with my phone: Lenovo S650
The virus shows different ads. (Screenshots are given in the bottom)
It also used to install different apps again and again even after uninstalling them,
but then I searched apk files and found 10 apks. I deleted them and then it start showing only ads.
But before I used to have only one ad and now I am having multiple different type of adds and the virus install an app "DeadlyRote". I didn't found its apk...
I think it is attached with ROM because I did the Factory Reset with removing sd card and deleting extra files manually. But it was no use.
What should I do? should I root it and change the ROM? If yes then tell me how...

I rooted it using Kingroot and uninstalled iKeyboard... I installed Clean Master and deleted many apks and ad junk.... Then I installed avast and enabled it firewall because the ads were still showing... an app named like "sysfqad" tried to get root access but I disallowed it...
now the virus tried to install "Zipt" app...
I think if I factory reset it, it will be unrooted. but the virus will be there

First of all, those antivirus apps are useless, don't waste your time on them.... Second, seeing your problem I suggest you to do a full wipe, and then flash stock firmware and root and right after rooting uninstall the malware apps, after that monitor your every step and notice everything that you do to not to run into this again..... And to get read of ads use adaway/minminguard(needs xposed framework)

Have you installed the donation package?
Did you try to download both the app and the donation package instead of restoring from TiBU?

Install the donation package from Play Store. Then install Greenify from Play Store. Open Greenify from the Play Store option "Open". See whether that solves the problem.
If not, also try clearing cache and data of Greenify and donation package.

If you don't have Play Store, Greenify will not work in donation mode. It needs to check with Play Store that you actually have the donation pack.

[GUIDE][NON-ROOT] 2 ways to use the Photochrome filter again!

[ROOT]
1. Download the Magisk Module from the Attachment.
2. Install the Module using Magisk Manager.
3. Reboot.
4. Open Phone App and type *#808#
5. Go to the Camera tab and click to "fourth back camera preview".
6. Now you can screenshot objects.
Screens:
[NON-ROOT]
1. Download this Package: Download
2. Open the zip and install the "GoogleCamera.apk"
3. Copy the "GCam" folder on the internal memory.
4. Open GCam and Restore the "Urnyx 7.3 Hooolm v8 (OP8 Pro).xml" Profile.
5. Now you can click on the "C" logo and can use the Photochrome filter again.
Screen:
Does the non-root variant work without Magisk? Because you can't change the cameras if you don't use the Aux Magisk Module that patches SELinux.
Works without Module
The AUX module is only needed for some GCam features like slow motion etc.
But for the Photochrome filter the module is not needed.
Interesting. The other cams only work with the Aux module on the 7 series. Good to know
Np
Followed the steps for non-root. Anytime I try to use a camera other than the main it kills the app and I have to clear data and start over again to make it turn on.

I meant I can already access it, sorry for the misunderstanding. I get the camera tab and can select the stuff an all, without installing the module, so wanted to know if I missed something. Sorry.
I guess I misunderstood.

Don't play with the fingerprint sensor tests or you will lose it. And without your own backup of the persist.img, there is nothing you can do to recover it. Fortunately I had my backup and I was able to recover the sensor. @jamal2367, can you take a look?

Suspicious app update in MIUI 11.0.8 stock ROM

Hello everyone,
Got a notification for an app update with Chinese characters. The description doesn't give out much info. It doesn't give me an option to uninstall. All i can do is Update the app. I am not able to search for this app on the google play store.

Tried to find Mi key app on play store. could not find it. Though googling it gave an interesting info about how helpful it is. Anyways the screenshot which i tried to attach, had an icon the same as Mi Mover and the same description. On the web version of playstore i could find this in English.
But what was confusing when I received the notification was, the app name and the description was completely in Chinese and I didnt have any other option to select the permissions or uninstall. (But guess that goes for all the apps in-built with MIUI)

Mi mover. Not suspicious. It's on the playstore
I guess every chinese app is suspicious.
Poco have many suspicious system apps. Many are not removeable even by root access. I am thinking of installing a custom Rom to get rid of These apps. Some are even more suspicious than normal bloatware. Guys u should also look into a way to get rid of them ASAP.
<UPDATE> Tried everything to remove pesky little apps of miui But no luck even with root access
Apps Used titanium backup , es filr explorer ,twrp, system apps remover etc etc
No luck Kindly help me out

According to the translation of the screenshot you have attached; it's a Mi Key system app update.
And for the icon I think miui developers was too lazy -as always- to find new one.
Moreover, most of miui system apps are not on Google play for ex. ( themes, scanner, screen recorder,... etc.), that's why they have their own system updater in the phone settings and that's the only way to update these system apps.
Anyway, it's a system app update.. So, no need to worry.
Cheers
