Ok so i am on rooted stock 5.1.1 and i came across layers theming.. As we know its basically to theme our phones running stock rom but i am unable to use it.. I have followed every step but nothing changes.. Is the stock Sony rom RRO supported?? I dont even find a nice tutorial on how to do it on Sony devices.. I'm new to Sony..

As far as I know there are not stock roms for Z2 that support PRO/Layers theme engine. In CM 12.1 however, GZR Tesla ROM supports this feature which maybe pointless since CM hast its own powerful theme engine with lots of great themes on the Play Store.

If you mean CM12 Theme Engine then no, you can't use it on stock.

There's some theme engine that uses Xposed Framework, but I never tested it on 5.1, so I guess it MIGHT work as well.

Well that means you can't theme your ROM then, just use the old apk decompile method to theme the ROM.

Xposed for lollipop 5.1 has been released but its in Super Alpha stage..
Still you can install it and try out that module

the themer app works well, and you can also check out some launchers as they have inbuilt theme store...

I already knew that you see i stated that. Anyway you could use lpthemer for some changes then there is also flat style coloured bars module with which you could tweak a little.But at the moment theming options on LP are few and far between.
It seems this thread has been abandoned. Is there another one where this subject is being discussed?
My Galaxy note 3 is still on kitkat mainly because I don't like the light lollipop default theme and from what I read there is still no way to dark theme it unless I install a custom ROM which I would like to avoid mainly because I will lose all my apps and settings and furthermore unless I'm mistaken there is still no way to install Xposed framework on a lollipop stock ROM with touchwiz

don't know about stock rom, ask him on private message . he just moded cyanogenmod framework, i think that he did a tuto about modding stock framwork and porting XPERIA Z4 CAMERA to other device with stock/custom rom
Hi, I want to know which Rom is the most popular Rom For Z2 and which of them Do you use for daily usage ?

I'm running on Mx Rom V8.6 for the daily usage, the ROM is very stable and fluid smooth. ExistenZ is best for fast update and lot features, but I'm feeling it became bit laggy overtime in long run.
Both are great ROMs and great developers, very grateful to have them in Z2 development. Been using custom ROM since Kit Kat on day one Z2 launched in my country.
I'm running Google Style ROM.
I've tried other ROMs as well, but I keep returning to this one. It's just perfect. Slim and AOSP-ish, while still maintaining Sony apps and features. Removing them further slims it down.
Toss in a couple of xposed modules like : N-ify, GravityBox, Lolistat and flash PexoCAM 8.5 and install LSpeed app to make it the best rom ever.
I've faced zero issues and I've been using it for months.

I have used @niaboc79 eXZ rom since the original Z, and his rom is far beyond amazing. Although he is now retired but I just dont want to switch away from this brilliant man's work.

Its not hard
You must first to know what is root,recovery,ftf firmvare,flashtool,custom firmvare.
Try to search on forum how to root Z2 and install custom rom.
BTW,I use latest stock MM,with some mofifications of Xperia X Ui.

+1, It's a very beautiful rom. I stopped using it because there is no link update in xda.
Stock rom for daily use (23.5.A.1.291)
I'm using GoogleStyle ROM. In my opinion is the best rom in performance, battery life and multitasking. ExistenZ is very good for his personalization but have bad multitask.

Switched from ExistenZ 5.1 Final to MX recently. Both are good but not perfect, each has some issues. Most stable and smoothest custom Z2 ROM ever posted in XDA in my opinion was Lollipop ROMs by Rajeev.
I'm on existenz lollipop final, I missed so much Real stamina mode that I step back from marschmallow Roma.

Until i get another phone my z2 is stock on 23.5.A.1.291
As my everyday phone i dont want to kill it. For trails i have a Xperia Z with 10.7.A.0.228
If i unlock the boot loader, which is allowed, it never boots at all. Thanks to Flashtool i have always been able to recover. I cannot root without using KingoRoot.apk but that does not allow the correct version of SU to be installed. Tried Darkslide SuperSume to remove the crap that KingoRoot leaves but that ultimately fails because of the locked boot loader and i've already explained what happens if i try.
These issues make me reluctant to play with the Z2.
I have applied a theme on substratum on my cm 14 and rebooted...after reboot, when I swipe screen to unlock its rebooting again and again....!!!.what could be the problem .??...isnt substratum compatible for cm14..???....help me pls
Substratum is not compatible with CM roms, only for AOSP ones.
Anyway you can apply substratum themes in user apps, but don't apply in system stuffs.
But....even aosp is based on cm right..???

1.touchwiz samsung rom
2. Sony ui rom (with all sony apps)
3. Apple theme rom (pure apple like first copy)
4. Miui rom with super light f/w stock miui is kinda heavy

Rom can only be themed over cm.i dont think there is another way to port any oem rom.
