Thanks. I am actually trying it now. But when I got to flash to stock I get "VSB98546A is not supported."
I also tried LG flash tool, set the port to 41, and I get an error "Download FAIL!!. Model information check fail.".
I used these files:
LGVS985_20140620_LGFLASHv160.dll
VS98510B_03.tot

I'll try using a different computer later

Tried with an older computer 32bit with usb 2.0 and it did the same thing. Toolkit said "VSB98546A is not supported," also tried the toolkit to instal twrp and it gave the same warning. LG flash tool fails because of model check. When you scroll up next to model is blank.

I also tried flashing a kdz using lg flash tool 2014 and it was jsut question marks. The status bar would go across on screen then nothing. Nothing ever changed on phone.

First things first. With the phone in download mode and connected to the PC via USB, when you look in Windows' Device Manager, do you see the phone listed in the Modem section?

The only KDZs you can flash from stock 46A are 35B or 47A. If you want to get to where you can easily root and install TWRP, you'll have to flash the 10B TOT using the .DLL that's extracted from the 35B KDZ, then root using the Stump app and use TWRP Manager from the Play Store to flash TWRP. Then you can flash whatever bootstack and ROM you want.
You can get the 10B TOT and 35B .DLL from my Android File Host link at the bottom of @annoyingduck's stickied return to stock thread in the General section. You'll have to Google for the software to flash TOTs.

Thanks. I tried that too and got "model information check fail." I used these files:
LGVS985_20140620_LGFLASHv160.dll Is this the right dll file?
VS98510B_03.tot
I did more reading and it seems not using an LG cable can cause this. I tried with many brands but don't have an LG cable. If those are the correct files I guess my next step is to order an LG cable.

I can't tell by the filename alone if it's the right file. You can compare to what I have on Android File Host (link in the thread I mentioned).
The TOT file is likely correct. Yes, I always recommend using the original USB cable for flashing. Hopefully that's your solution.

Thanks so much for your help. Looks like I was using the wrong dll file. I used the one in this post below and it worked right away.

I had the same problem and was able to flash an old rom using the LG flashtool, here is a guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772199
But I had to use this dll file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63266194&postcount=84
After my phone reset during the flash it displayed 2 on the screen and did not pass. Just go into your PC's device manager and recheck the com port and change it back to 41. Mine changed as the phone reset during the flash process. Once I changed it back to 41 the flash resumed and the displayed 3 on the phone and the computer said pass.

MY Problem Has Been Recoverd By Flashing 35B KDZ using LG FLASH TOOL 2014. Easy and not need of any DLL file. Now i am on 47A using KDZ.
Thanks everyone

[Q] Cant Use Lg Flash Tool To Unbrick Phone

Well guys I ****ed up. In the process of trying to flash the lollipop firmware, I bricked my phone. At first I wasnt that mad knowing I could use the LG Flash Tool to return to the stock firmware. I had done this once before and my phone was able to function again. The problem im having this time is that, even after loading the lg g3 verizon drivers, device manager displays the phone as in the screenshots, not under ports like its supposed to. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated seeing as I am currently without my phone and its killing me.
This is what device manager displays.

When you get a chance, see if you have any other DLL files in your lg flash tool folder besides megalock.
While toting yesterday I had to pull another dll out of my backup folder. Maybe its in the op's drive folder and I overlooked it, but the flash tool definantly didn't install it and its the target dll not megalock.

This isn't an OTA file, it's a KDZ which overwrites anything you have on your phone no matter what, using LG Mobile Tool 2014 on a Windows PC to flash it.

Yes you can flash directly without rolling back.

Technically you can 'update' from 23A, but it's a KDZ so you will lose all data on your internal storage.

Can I flash the 23C_01 Lollipop KDZ, then manually (dd commands) flash the bumped 23C kernel then manually flash TWRP 2860 and be ok or will I get the secure boot error?

I'd have to see it myself to be able to tell you. What I can tell you is that the 23C_01 KDZ has at least some different files than the 23C "OTA" leak we were using on here.
So if you're on the 23C that was available before the last 24 hours, it's not the same 23C. Similar, not identical.

I doubt if you'd be able to see the difference, but there's definitely technical differences. Example: the 23C_01 modem.img is 7 MB smaller than the one from the 23C leak we had.

Yes, I did use the 35b dll.
Use the original USB cable. Try a different USB 2.0 port. Reboot the PC. Try a different PC if possible. Are you changing the port # for the correct entry in Device Manager? Not saying you made the same mistake as I did, necessarily, but I apparently was changing the wrong entry but the return to stock directions were exactly right.

@hokiealumnus ' thread about 35B / 5.1.1 in General, at the bottom of his first post.

Soft Brick, Cant fix

Ok so here's the jist of it. Was trying to downgrade from 46a to 10b. Couldn't get LG flash tool to come up "Ready", so I tried the terminal emulator method. Seemed to work until I rebooted. Now I get unsuccessful boot error with the LG screen. I don't have twrp as I hoped, only stock recovery. So I've tried for hours with many different methods to get the Flash tool to pick up my phone when its in Download mode. Tried disabling driver signature at boot, downloading different drivers, changing com port to com41.
Nothing
I am on Windows 8 and could get as far as the actual flashtool previously. Now I cant even get that far. Stayed up until 5am and have been back at it since 1.
Any help would be awesome!

So, I can get the my laptop to pick up the phone and show the port. Also says connected mpt device. I just cant get the flash tool to see it. Would it be safe to say that my phone is wiped and therefore does not currently have a "version" (46a ext) and would allow me to flash a kdz on the 2014 flash tool?
Trying to think outside the box seeing I've gotten no leads....

If by terminal emulator method you mean my thread about manually downgrading partitions, then yes, that's another effect of downgrading them, that you can then flash any KDZ you want.

Ok, I'm gonna give it a try. I'm hoping that I'll already have the flash tool up and it will see my phone in download mode.

Ok guys I finally got it to work! Ran the older 2014 flash tool. The trick I found to make my Asus i7 recognize my phone was a little strange. When i would let my phone boot up it would flash the led red and blue. Once I held the volume button up it would boot to a blank screen, but the phone was still on. This was the only time my laptop would download and install the correct drivers. From there i powered off, went into download mode and connected, then used the lg tool to flash the 10b kdz file.
All rooted and twrp'ed! Flashing 47a and I'm done!
Hopefully, sometime, somehow, this will help someone else with the same problem.
Thanks road warrior for the advice. Been a long 2 days...

[Help!!] How to Unbrick Metro PCs LG K7 LGMS330!!

Alright so I recently got the lg k7 from metro pcs and decided to root it. I rooted it using kingroot and then used supersu me so that I could install supersu instead of the one used for kingroot. It worked and then asked me to reboot my phone but when it started up again, it just stayed frozen on the metro pcs logo! I removed the battery and went into recovery mode, (by clicking the down volume+power button) but when it starts up again, it still stays stuck on the metro logo. Im assuming it is stuck on a bootloop? I also believe it is soft brick because i can still access the download mode, although it did take a while as i had to find the dang drivers b/c my computer would not recognize it.
I tried using the LG Mobile Support Tool to try to unbrick it, but it says that it already has the latest firmware installed! I cant do an update recovery either!
Sadly the 7 day exchange and return has ended and I cannot replace it, so is there any other way that anyone knows to unbrick the phone?
Thanks
Did you ever figure this out? I had my k7 goto a secure boot error 9 and cant figure it out.

The only way to fix our LG devices...including @Goongydin device
1. downloada kdz firmware file for our respective model & carrier
2. download lg flashtool & another tool on a windows PC
3. put the device in download mode
4. reflash the firmware(Stock)
check out my tutorial here if the firmware file for the LG K7 is ever released...http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/how-to-universally-manually-update-lg-t3280735
HOWEVER the LG K7 firmware file has NOT been released yet & LG wont release if ask...I asked once & they told me they do NOT make it & then I ask another time(different lg representative) She said that file is proprietary & so it can NOT be released to anyone outside of LG...
so I have multiple responses that conflicts with one another especially when the first conversation was with an LG developer...who ACTUALLY makes those files apparently, but inclined that he does NOT.

If you have already fixed your phone disregard but keep this handy. It works. On the lg ls770 which has a locked bootloader and is very finiky. I have a booting and a non booting k7 and trying to find a system.img or how to extract the system.img from the phone. All i find is how to extract img from firmware. If you could share the system.img it would be appreciated
