Power Button build quality - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, I just received my G5 yesterday morning, and everything looks good (no gap on the battery module, well aligned, etc) save for the power button on the back.
When I touch it to unlock for instance, it makes a rattling noise, as if there was a loose part on top. Very, very annoying, because when I actually press it, it makes some kind of extremely cheap "double click" noise.
I was thinking about sending it back for a new one, but I wanted to ask first if anybody else was having the same problem, because if I end up getting a new one and it's the same, it's a waste of time.
Would you relate to that?

My button has a sharp click feel and noise. It wiggles a tiny bit, but I know for a fact its not defective.

Exactly, an acute "click"

Thanks for the feedback, I'll send it back then, mine must be defective in that regard.

Screen Loose After Prolonged Use?

So my Prime's screen gets "loose" (clicking sound when I squeeze the front and back of the Prime) around the volume rocker area after I use it for a while. It seems that it spreads farther and farther as I use it longer and longer and after I leave it for a while it goes away.
Also, when I press hard on the screen at aprx 2 inches from to top left pointing towards the center, the screen turns black (not off, but black).
So what should I do? It is not bothersome enough (yet) to send back to Asus for repairs but should I call them to let them know and record the problem on my Prime's serial or something? And do you guys know how long the whole process would take if I send it back to them for repairs (Im in Canada).
Thanks
Mine does that too. I think it's a common characteristic and read about others who have also remarked about it. The TF101 had something similar as well.

Does it also only get loose after prolonged us? Is it because of the tablet getting warm?

Beats me, I've had mine for 3 weeks and it's been about the same all along.
I haven't noticed any clicking on mine, but my screen sticks out from the casing a little bit (evenly - all sides). Does yours stick out, too? I figured it was just a poor design choice by Asus. And if yours does, that could be the reason for the clicking since there's probably some wiggle room.
same issue here near volume button... i hear clicking sounds... made me bit worried...

Spongy Screen Edges

Hello,
So, I received my Prime on 2/8/12 and I absolutely adore it. However, I have noticed that on the right side of my screen near the bottom, the very edges seem to be able to be depressed just slightly. The best word I can come up with is Spongy. If I press quickly I can hear where the case and the screen come together and click softly. There is no Creaking or anything.
Is this a known defect or is it just a soft spot on the case and there is nothing to worry about? So far I have not received a straight answer on it. It certainly doesn't effect anything. I have decent wifi connectivity in an old Cement Style Apartment and the screen is perfect. I walked in knowing the GPS wasn't going to work and had very little worry or interest in GPS in a tablet.
Thanks for your help!
Miles
I know exactly what you're saying...but I'm almost 100% sure that there's no issue here. It just happens to be a place where there's no clip to fully secure it and it doesn't come together exactly in that location, but it's not going to cause an issue.
That is what I was assuming as well. I wanted to make sure. I am so happy with this tablet thus far, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't looking at a defect. Takes a huge load off my mind and my wife's as well. For as much as we paid for it I would hate to see something small be the cause of some major flaw.
Thank you so much!
Hmm, It seems I have a Spongy spot on all sides of my tablet. Right side on the bottom (near where you would hold it in Landscape), On the top near the camera (I can actually feel alot of give here and hear the case clack against it when I even just hold it in Portrait mode), Just below the volume rocker and another beside the Power adapter area.
Sadly I am starting to think this isn't exactly normal. Am I the only one thinking it might be time to head back to office depot?

After reading this, I checked the spot by the camera, and I have that too. You really shouldn't worry about it though...they're WAY within tolerances for devices of this kind...I mean, it moves like what, 0.001mm?
My first one was the same way as it the one I just got as a replacement (I sent the first one in for an unrelated problem). I wouldn't worry too much about it.
So everyone says not to worry. I am really glad to hear that More people are having this problem than just myself. Yes it is a very slight movement, however, I was worried about it hindering the screen. I called office depot today and they said they would refund me if I wished. I think I will probably call off the refund. It is an amazing tablet and I love it to death. Hopefully nothing worse comes of it as time goes on.
I have a lot of thinking to do I suppose. I kind of feel like if I take the refund I am going to have to take a step backwards, due to the loss of the quad core. Though, between my wifes Dual core and my quad core I see very little difference between the two.

Loose power button... fixed by opening case?

My week-old 800 is great, except for the one small annoying thing with the power button. It's obviously functioning fine, but it's very loose and wiggles around on its own, whereas the volume/camera buttons are firm and in place. I know it's not a big deal, but could it be fixed by opening the phone and re-seating it? Does anyone else have issues with loose buttons?
My camera button is a little lose. Though I can live with it since it's the camera button. Sort of suits it better to be a little lose than the other ones.
I think the camera button is a little looser due to it being 2 stage, not much you can do about that.
As for the power button, I guess if you stripped it down, you could put a shim in place to help matters.

One of my earlier Lumia's that I returned had a very firm camera button.
Yeah, my camera button is firm as well.

Mine is loose a little bit, but it feels good when pressing. It rattles when i shake my phone but that isn't that annoying. My first Lumia had a crackling sound when display is touched at right side. That was REALLY annoying

I also had a strange sound on my first lumia 800 when pressing the screen. Probably the gorilla glass was´t properly attached.. But whats interesting is that there are several ppl here that have had lumia devices with the screen not properly attached.
I think that's problem in plastic that holds display to the rest of housing. Find some video of Lumia disassembly and you will see how it looks. I had that issue on my second Lumia and i sorted it out wit tightening the two screws beneatk covers. It was much less noticeable than on firs device but i knew where to look for crackling so i found it But this one is much much better
Hey did you ever open up your phone? My power button stopped working yesterday and Nokia China didn't help me since they don't sell the phone here. I have to use the camera button to access my phone... it makes me livid. Can you offer any advice?

All The Issues i Have had with my LG V10/mini review

Let me start by saying that i bought this phone only 3 days ago and these are the problems I've found with it.
1. The Second screen back light issue. This is a common problem among many lg v10 users as i have noticed, and i have that same problem too. to the extreme left of the second display it is brighter than the rest but only when it is off. I do not find this very annoying since i do not use the second display for reading my notifications while it is off. i mostly use it when the screen is on
2. In addition to that, the power button/ fingerprint scanner combo is completely garbage, as in the actual clicking. the button seems loose and when i click it, it squeaks. Also, when i run my finger up and down the power button it wobbles and has the same annoying squeak.
3. The charging port is loose. Not so much that the cable could slide out not in that axis, but it moves side to side freely and up and down. this worries me because i think that if i put too much pressure on the cable the port could break somehow.
4. The steel bezels are nice and stuff but the gaps, are uneven at the bottom left, the metal bezel is like bent and you can easily see through it. also at the back when you pop in the cover it seems like it doesn't align with the bezel. but that might just be my ocd lol
This phone in my opinion is great the best phone I've had. but its just that these things are what let me down. This phone is great but they absolutely ruined it with the quality control. note* my batch is from January 15, 2016
U probably just got a bad one. Sometimes, they make it thru the quality control somehow. I would return it until u get the one ur satisfied with.

Yeah I think I should but I'll wait until the weekend and decide if I should change it.
Probably a good idea. The flaws won't change. I have the lightbleed on the 2nd screen, but I never notice unless it's absolutely pitch black where I am and the screen is off. It doesn't annoy me tho.

I like the phone, maybe I love it. I have the same problem with the residual light on the left of second screen. (phone batch 26 Oct.2015) But, what I dislike the most:
1. The lack of a LED on the front.
2. The second screen, about my opinion is useless until then a developer create an xposed apk for a flashing light on second screen when I loose a call.
3. The fingerprint sensor is useless too for me.
4. Volume of the speaker is not too loud.
But, I like the size and the shape of the phone. It is a catch eyes everywhere I go. Benchmarks are very good for a Snapdragon 808. The screen is very fluid. And the most, the camera and his software are great; you believe or not I compared in photoshop pictures from an expensive Sony semiprofessional DSLR camera with photos made with my V10 and the overall quality are quite the same. It's the best phone I ever had (and I had a lot of top level androids)
I don't want to change it, even on a G5!
H961 dual SIM, rooted, debloated.
The light bleed is a common issue, but everything else sounds like your phone was assembled incorrectly, you should exchange it
Okay so today I was wondering if I could find any more nit picky problems and noticed that the back cover did not sit flush with the buttons and that if I pushed it down it became flushnot a big issue but it bugs me when I'm turning up the volume or turning on the phone

Well I exchanged a week ago and now that the time limit to return it is over, it cracked, not from a drop. It just cracked by itself there is a small hair line crack right by the metal rail and if is so annoying I paid good money and I take care of my phones well even if this was made to be tough. It cracked while I was in the car waiting for someone and then out of no where I heard a little pop and I thought nothing about it but after I finished watching the video I noticed it and got so scared I was like"did I drop it" but I did not idk how it managed to break I haven't dropped my phone yet and it just cracked out of nowhere

Loose vibration with crackling sound

Hey everyone. Just got the z5c and I noticed that the phone"s vibration is a bit "loose" comooring to my z3c. Also, about every 1 out of 4 vibrations makes a very slight but audible crackling sound. Has anyone else experienced this? Is that considered normal? It doesn't bother me too much but my main concern is the phone's longevity. Thanks
I have not noticed that on mine.
Mine too (Z5 E6653)
I'm not worried about it. The phone is NEW (2 months might be considered new).
And if it would break, the phone has 2 years warranty. And if it's outta warranty, it's not so hard to replace some parts yourself.

I've read that in another thread. It has something to do with the camera construction. If you you flick at the back next to the camera, you can hear the ratteling, too. In my case, after opening the camera app, it's gone when you flick against the same spot...
If that's not the case... well I'd return...

What does "snip at the back" mean? I'm not familiar with "snip" in that context.
I Do also hear this noise produced by the Vibration engine. I am using a tempered glass screen protector and I am wondering if the Sound might Come from the protector.
Did you experience any issues with this so far except for the "annoying" Sound?
i dont get that sound (film)
i saw another thread on this topic, i guess is the glass i have 5.1.1 maybe it also matter os ver
No such problem on mine. Tested with vibration diagnostics, nothing comes up.

When I Do the Vibration test, I am also Not able to hear that Sound. It only comes up when the Phone vibrates only shortly, for example when you touch the home Button or when you write a text with Vibration Feedback.
Recently I recognized that I can reproduce that rattling Sound by tapping on the backside next to the camera. So I assume the Sound is produced by the camera lense because I read somewhere that the lense somehow "floats" freely on the Sensor.
