i have a quick charger I bought it online from amazon
and the charger that came with my Honor 5X is really slow ( it's only 1A )
so can i use my quick charger to charge my phone ?? and would it harm the battery ???, because i heard that the Honor 5X doesn't support quickcharge 2.0
Using a charge station 40watts 2.4A per Port (total 5) and it charges really fast.. should not harm the device anyways.
I will be testing the kernel and hardware over the weekend sometimes these features are just deactivated on the chipset and can be reactivated by a custom kernel.
Still waiting on my phone is due tomorrow by 8pm

Maybe nothing If I end up in q & a forum all weekend LOL so many people posting crazy things and tinkering with things they don't readily understand without researching. Lol but it's on my to do list. There will be alot more new people tomorrow and that comes first. I need to work on a flashing tutorial and step by step new person guide prior to doing anything.

Yea I saw it was on sale for prime day, should be a lot of new ppl coming in. I've had mine since it came out so I've seen this forum grow from nothing

So far, only xboarder is really working on this (with some possible help but not posted), and he does not have a phone. Appears someone reneged on a deal.
When the MT4G and G2X came out, there were a lot that jumped in - what is the issue here?

Developers are having hard time to decide which device should they buy..

Team Whiskey will be on board soon--the phone is VERY new and we need to give people some time to buy the phones before they can start cooking.

The nexus will only come out on Verizon for the foreseeable future - and switching carries for the phone of the moment is ------.
As for Samsung, I have only had bad experiences with their software/policies - so not going there anytime soon. LG for same reason is also an issue.
How about buying all the developers this phone at full price so we can get the roms out? No? Bad idea? Why not? Too much money? Oh... didn't think of that.

There sure is. It's expensive as hell! How many other phones are out now and how many are on the horizon? From a developers perspective they have a lot to chose from. Odds are slim that we'll get dozens of developers that are going to get this device immediately after it's release. We might get one or two at first and that's about all we have. For f#@k sake the main developer doesn't even have the damn phone! Give it time or return it. It's up to you. I am sticking with it because I see the potential and I believe that development will open up in the near future.
Examples:
MT3G didn't start getting support for about a week after Cyanogen got it.
MT3G 1.2 didn't start getting support for MONTHS because of driver conflicts and the lack to crack the bootloader (which still hasn't been done).
Vibrant... still doesn't have a stable CM rom release and it's been out for over a year.
These are just devices that I know about for certain. I'm sure there are many more.
So we've had the phone for less than a month and people are getting impatient? Why? Did you think that we'll have root BEFORE the phone was released? Just be patient. It's very unlikely that this will be the only phone that isn't going to have ICS, CM7/CM9, etc.

You need 10 posts to do it in the dev section. You should be able to reply in the general or other sections. Why they can I am not sure. Are they doing it with a computer or by phone maybe?

sounds delicious....i actually quit recently, havnt had a butt since january 3rd!!! (10 year smoker)...ive moved onto vaping (ecigs) and havnt looked back, im a big advocate for it for people who want to quit...i never thought id be able to stop

I quit... For a Solid Month cold turkey... I picked it back up again. I bought a e-cig once. My kid picked it up and blew into it. and killed it. I didn't buy a new one. Maybe I should try again.

if its something youre really going to consider, you have to invest in a good one. the initial investment in a starterkit will run you between $60-$90, but you ultimately save a ****ton of money AND health from there on out.
those crap ecigs from the convience store/mall kiosk are a horrible misrepresentation of the vaping world, dont buy those.
i can give you good recommendations if youre interested.

it is a huge online industry, with a alot of great products >> but unfortunately those great products are buried under a tone of inferior products...it can be like finding a needle in a haystack.
a lot of people start researching, and just get so overwhelmed that they just say "fck it, ill just go buy a pack of smokes."

Omg. Are you kidding? I know about this fix at least one month. And try to hex edit our ril, even if I don't know where to search, even when I don't need ussd, searched in the framework too and probably this fix is not our problem.
I lost few hours with searching for this problem.

Seeing that both my primary and two backup drives failed today it's a moot point now, at least for me. I lost everything as far back as my custom PalmOS ROM days. Been fun guys.

Multiple pre-failures on primary (SMART monitor lit up like a christmas tree), must save data, grab backup (I have pets) hard impact with hardwood floor, grab second backup and in my haste plug directly into wall and (cue power surge) smoke not figuratively but literally. Three hard drives in about five minutes.
The only time I've ever seen multiple drives go at once was a voltage controller for the pci slots short and take out a RAID5 array in one stroke.
Well anyways, I will eventually get up and running but at this time it's really not a priority. Thanks to those that have donated and supported photon development and my work.

I dreamed we were getting Jellybean 4.1 and will be out no later than the middle of June but maybe sooner. Basically the same code Asus is putting into the Google Nexus 7 inch tablet due out towards the end of June.

It has been very quiet. Maybe they actually have noticed that the Prime does not perform like a quad core tablet should and they are seriously fixing the software. At least I hope so.

I was going to post a similar thread to this yesterday - It has been a while since it went in to testing.
I hope for a dramatic increase in speed when the update is eventually shipped! Anyways all speculation for now.

I guess Google is realizing just how buggy this chip is.

Agreed. However, as with many Android ROMs, I'm sure that either the full version could be heavily optimized (ie: z-watch's OS) or a special Wear ROM w/SIM support could be written.
We do need root!! It will happen, matter of time and the right Dev.........
Maybe with root we can try Tizen and Android wear ROMs and check for battery life.
I don't think there are any devs supporting this watch. It is DOA.
Why the complaints on the thought of Android on gear s? I love android over tizen on my original gear and get great battery 24+ hours every time. Some charges I've got 2 days out of running null rom on it. My gear s is nice, but i hope we get a null rom or something similar for our s's.

Well, Android is definitely a good OS but it is more important for us to try to promote Tizen. Android has a lot of supporters but it is dangerous to have too much going into Android because it limits our options.
Also, Google is starting to take back Android and to lock it down. Even Lollipop has some issues that don't look so great for its future.
TL; DR -- we need to see what Tizen can really do and support its full potential. Android will be fine.

No one is here to argue so calm down. Lol. Also, the thread is called porting Android on gear s, so I'm in the right thread to support android on this watch.
BTW, if you do some research, root can be achieved with the S. I saw you'd mentioned needing it.

Didn't say anything was proven; I said it was achieved. I Didn't have any problems with it. Only problem I currently have is my 6 year old thought it would be funny to play with my watch with my grandson and somehow it managed to take a bath, sooooooooooooo.... its currently sitting in rice and its time to file an insurance claim. Zzzzzz....
I'll be back to tearing this watch up in a few days I guess.

You know the Gear S is waterproof right? Should be OK from being in the tub.

Obviously not. It's dead and I can't get any signs of life out of it. Even hooked it up to the computer to try and pull a log through sdb, so at this time I might call it water resistant.
Edit: Best I can figure is the Sim door or something was not seated correctly and water got in, or something else completely different, idk, all I know is that it is quite dead. Anyway T-Mobile is going to replace it, I have to run it to the local store in a bit, so I'll be back to the fun next week. Until then I'll just have to use my gg1. Grrrrr, the face on this thing is too small. Lol
I'm scared to even wash my hands or wear my Gear S in the shower. I usually never put my phones/watch by my drink/beer especially last night during the Ohio State thumping of Wisconsin. 59-0. That was a lot of cheering for me. LoL

I always take mine off to do dishes or anything. I set it on the coffee table last night and came back a little bit later and couldn't find it, my 6 year old told me she was showing my grandson it and then showed it to me in the sink in the bathroom. It was soaked but not submerged in water. She said she "cleaned it off for me" because my grandson drooled on it. Lol ... anyway, that was a good game last night... Back to gear s android porting dreams. I'll be back at trying to figure something out with it when tmo replaces it, they're saying Wednesday or Thursday.

slo-mo NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ... I've taken a swim w/ mine, no big issues. But I quadruple-checked the SIM door before.
