Can anyone help solve the problem as it seems to be a programing/software issue i could be wrong. but i really need your help.

[Q] CA-FI Dashlinq - OUKU - Unbranded 6.9" 2 DIN Android Car Stereo Radio Head Unit
Hoping to start a thread on this Car Unit, which boasts a bigger screen than the OUKU unit discussed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2110546
http://store.ca-fi.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=274
There are several versions and brands of this unit on the market. I've seen it under the name Yeamax, Advanz and Pixen.
Unfortunately the unit has the same crippled Android found on the OUKU unit, which is a shame because the potential is there. Maybe we can get some of the experts on here to get a vastly improved build for one of these units.
I have the latest S/W update on SD-card, but have no idea how to work with it. It is non-standard in 4 separate files with names such as "image_kernelfs, image_rootfs, etc.).
So, the first step would be to get Root on the unit. Anyone want to support this?
Have the same unit, did you get any news ?

[Q] Is there a root available for the Xtrons TD730a Double Din Headunit?

Hi there,
I hope I'm posting this request in the right section.
I have recently bought myself an Xtrons TD730a Double Din Head Unit, I would post a link to it but unfortunately I am unable to as the forum won't let me. You should be able to find the unit in question with the help of google though.
On the whole I've been pretty happy with the device. The main downside I have discovered though is that it appears to be running a rather cut down version of Android 4.1
It is unable to communicate with my Bluetooth OBDII device, which having read through a few of the other threads on here seems to be a common issue with many of the Android Car Headunits.
The other, more annoying issue I've noticed is that when I am streaming music from my home server over 3G, it doesn't seem to support gapless playback when changing to the next track or Audio Chaining or whatever it is known as. I use exactly the same apps and set up on my LG G3 and gapless playback works fine on that.
From what I can gather, the necessary APIs to support Audio Chaining were added in to Android API Level 16 which was introduced around the time of Android 4.1 so this Headunit should support it.
I'm wondering, if the Headunit is running a rather cutdown version of 4.1, is it possible that Audio Chaining support has somehow not been added to it's supported APIs?
Is there a way I can check if this is the case? And if so, can I get them added in somehow? I'm guessing that a good place to start would be if there is a root method available for this device?
I hope it was OK to post these questions here. Please let me know if I should have posted them elsewhere.
Cheers,
Jim

Even though its an 7 inch screen it is the same as the AN21 head unit internally. So it doesnt support obdll over bluetooth. Try getting the wifi version that it works. Try the same rooting method as that head unit.
@ little off topic question
Im sorry I do not have the information on that for you but it shocked me when you said that it didn't work with your phone over bluetooth . I was thinking about buying this model and want to make sure that the Bluetooth is able to stream my music and also make phone calls from the dash !? Is that possible with this unit ?
Another question I had is about the sound quality
The watts are not listed online so does it get loud and clear or do you need an amp with this unit
Again sorry I couldn't help ( sorry for asking a bunch if random stuff )

Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction :good:
I've had a good read through the AN21 head unit thread. I've ended up upgrading the system software to version 2.8.3 and I've also managed to root the device.
The result is now that I am able to play my music over 3G without there being any annoying gaps between each track.
As you've mentioned, it still doesn't support OBDII over bluetooth and this does turn out to be a hardware issue rather than a software issue. In fact, the software itself does clearly support OBDII over bluetooth, it's just the hardware version of my bluetooth controller that doesn't support it.

The head unit does connect to my phone over bluetooth, I never said that it didn't. I was referring to a bluetooth OBDII adapter (for reading out diagnostic information from my car's ECU) that does not work with the head unit over bluetooth.
I've not actually attempted to make or receive any calls over bluetooth, or to stream any music via Bluetooth, but it is my understanding that the head unit does support these features.
It is probably a good idea to have a proper read through the"AN-21 U" - Unbranded 6.2" 2 DIN Pure Android 4.1 Car Stereo Radio Head Unit [ROOTED] thread available on here in the Android Development and Hacking --> Android General section as it seems as though people have had different results with regards to sound qualities depending on which software version / MCU version they are running on their unit. For what it's worth, I've left my MCU version untouched as it looked as though it was a whole different ball game to change MCU versions as apposed to simply changing the software version.
I can't remember off the top of my head what the speaker wattage outputs are, I seem to remember something around the 45X4 mark, remember those are peak ratings. I do have an amp running a sub woofer in the boot of my car but the rest of the speakers, which are just the standard speakers that were supplied with the car, are powered directly off the head unit.
I've got to be honest and say, I don't think they go as loud as they did with my previous head unit, a Sony MEX-BT3100U, so I will probably look at amping them at some point in the future, probably after replacing them with some good quality aftermarket speakers.

Anyone know if it is possible to root the Xtrons TS702L or how to upgrade it ?

another android HU question - sorry!

Hi guys
Basically I've decided I'm going to take the plunge and buy an Android 2 din Car Stereo Radio Head Unit for my car (Audi A3), not knowing too much about these units and from reading the vast amount of information off this site I've decided to buy a unit but just before I click the pay button, can somebody please confirm that if I decided to take the rooting/custom firmware route, I can do with this particular unit?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sourcingbay...id=1429256142&sr=1-2&keywords=android+DVD+GPS
From the specs, it has an RK3066 1.6GHz Cortex A9 Dual-Core and 1GB of Ram so similar to the HuiFei unit?
I just want to be able to bluetooth my calls and music from my Samsung S3 pretty much, the GPS and Satnav would be a bonus and if anybody can suggest another unit which might be better for me and which I can buy in the UK, please let me know.
any help and advice appreciated

Ott tv box 4cpu 4gpu (mxq)

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to this TV box stuff and mine arrived with Android 4.4.2 sitting on kernel 3.10.33
Everything looks super outdated so I started doing some digging to see if there are new firmwares that can be installed but didn't find any reliable source for it. If anyone has info about this please share it with us. I also noticed there is a software running which Kodi sits on which I don't think is needed as Kodi can sit directly on Android without issues.
Thanks in advance
same question

Post the hardware specifications
Chance are there are compatible boxes out there where you can borrow a newer rom from.

Which model Hauppage tuner works with the Nvidia Shield Live Channels app?

I want to connect my TV antenna directly to the Shield with a USB tuner without having to pay extra for any kind of Plex pass ect. I went and bought a "WinTV-DualHD Dual USB" tuner last night at Best Buy thinking it would work judging from this webpage here...............
http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_linux.html#livechannels
I haven't even opened the box yet but now after further reading I realized there are two models of that tuner, the old one (model 1595) and a new one (model 1657) which is the one I bought. According to the page I linked there is also a model WinTV-HVR- 955Q that is supposed to work. From what I've read the on other threads the one I bought is not going to work. I'm thinking about returning it a getting a 955Q (as its available locally). I also have an older model WinTv HVR-850 that I tried but the Live Channels app didn't recognize it.
Has anyone got any any one of these working with the Live Channels App and which model are you using? I've read too many conflicting reports as to which do and dont work and I'm a bit confused as to which one to get and don't want to keep having to return them. I tried the customer support chat on the Haauppauge web s site today but the guy give me the impression he was just reading from a script and had no personal experience with any of them and told me I need to use a Plex Server and I'm strying to stay away from that as you have to pay for a Plex Pass is my understanding. Looking for someone with some real world experience who can guide me in the right direction, Thanks!
Well problem solved! After chatting with the guys in the "Nvidia Shield Community" group on Facebook found the Haupauge XBOX One Tuner also works (model 1678), returned the WinTV-DualHD Dual HD model and picked up the it X-BOX one tonight. Took it home, plugged it in and he Shield immediately recognized it, did a channel scan and it picked over 90 channels and they come in perfectly!! What else could be asked for? Worked perfectly!
