That's not Oreo final build, it is DP4 for public.

This was also confirmed by oneplus on the U.S forums. They anticipate a release of early 2016.

OxygenOS is the name of the ROM. More like CyanogenMod, they do not change the name when they move to a different branch. Marsh mellow is another release of Android. OxygenOS will just rebase their development using Marsh mellow as the new based instead of current Lollipop as the base.

There are less chances but we may get as we had only one Nougat update as they mentioned while honor 8 launch, they will be giving 2 major Androids upgrades so who knows we might get lucky here

it is their supported chip, if we're lucky we may see it but it will take so long to get released like android 7..... probs mid-late 2018 would be realistic time..... android 7 works well and there isnt much new in android 8.

My friend who is using my xda acc will try to build AOSP 8.0 with 7.1 sources today. bu i don't think it will work xD
Heyyo, I'm sure work will begin for Oreo but tbh I don't think major work will happen until LineageOS or another custom ROM have made implementations of it. Still, looking forward to seeing what they can pull off

Sony never has a good update support . Had already 4 Sony devices and they all were quickly abandoned.

If you want good update support, just don't bother with mediatek devices. There are hardly any major updates for them, and you are lucky that sony upgraded them to Nougat

But it's not the Oreo version as you would like it to be...perhaps it is but at the time ZTE did this statement, ZTE was not sure of O was on track for the next update, who knows...
Anyways they would not call it B08 if it was Oreo but rather A2017G V1.x.0B01 or something like that, don't you think.

Here they only say that they won't talk much about Android 8, so no promises were made other than that the next update will contain the October 2017 patch. Also the other stuff that will come in this update aren't mentioned either, so not even an official changelog has been released.
As I've said, better wait till an official changelog appears.
I read at the link you supplied thats it definitely not going to be oreo. So yes, better change the title.
