Anyone know if 4k video recording works with 3rd party apps like LUMIO camera? - AT&T LG G5 Questions & Answers

Does any ATT LG G5 owner know if this variant can do 4k video recording with 3rd party apps. ?
I tried the sprint variant and I know it CANNOT. So I want to see if the ATT variant can.
There are 2 FREE trial apps in the playstore.
1) LUMIO CAMERA (PRO MODE) ....must be in pro mode set to 4k settings. 3840 x 2160
2) Cinema 4k
Before I buy an ATT variant , I wanted to know if either of these apps work with 4k recording properly .
Does anyone know of either of of these 2 apps work for 4k in the ATT g5?
I tried the Sprint variant and 4k is not supported with 3rd party apps. .........and was wondering about the ATT variant
Thanks in advance.

Maximum 4k Bitrate recording on the G5? And what app(s)...and anyone using H.265?

I am curious to know what the maximum 4k bitrate for recording that is known to be on the G5........and what apps have these bitrates been tested on to work?
I know from personal experience that the LG G4 can do up to 200mbps but is dependent on Android version and what they allow and dependent on available apps and features that devs implement.
From what I have read , it is also possible that the hardware in the G5 allows for H.265 4k recording, but curious if anyone doing this yet on the G5?
Thanks

No 4K recording for 3rd party apps on the G5 non-rooted???? Anyone?

I tried 5 different 3rd party 4K recording apps on MM and Nougat........and non of them worked..................all just do 1080p.
Cinema4k
ProShot
Freedcam (2 different versions
Lumio Camera Pro
Open Camera
All just do 1080p on the G5 stock unrooted MM and Nougat (Sprint LS992)
The stupid thing is the G4, which uses the same main camera module can do great 4K video with all of these apps above listed...... non-root too.
The only way to do 4K is the stock app which is low bitrate. I am seeking to do high bitrate which the LG G4 does wonderfully even unrooted stock
Anyone know of a way to enable 4K for the G5 non-root? Thanks

Hey!
Did you maybe find the solution to this. I discovered the possibilities with Open Camera (completely manual video mode), but only thing that's missing is 4k. Did you come up with something?

4k video bitrate

Hi,
I was playing with 4k video recording using open camera, Note 5 global non rooted version with original ROM.
I see that video bitrate is a bit low and sometimes I see compression artifacts.. it's around 41Mb/s for video.
Is there any way to use HEVC or use higher bitrate to record 4k.
Comment: for example my old OneplusOne is recording in more then 60Mbit/S in 4k mode
Xiaomi 4k+ more then 100Mb/s
Wondering if someone was trying to hack it... I set bitrate in open camera but nothing is changing it.. still the same default stock value in final file.
Interesting thread.
Sorry if I don't have an answer but a question: does EIS (image stabilisation) work correctly when enabled in open camera or are the videos still shaky?

This is great news. Thanks.
Just to make sur : This is on the 5 plus = Indian note 5. (Not the Indian note 5 pro = normal note 5 which is dual camera and officially does have eis).
(because another thread says you need to root and install camera api2 for it to work).

I had italian version (assuming global ROM) from Amazon.it
4GB/64GB version black
from what I checked in few apps just open camera had EIS option in 4K and it indeed works, I was comparing videos with and without EIS enabled
just wondering about bitrate, had no chance to test with fv5 and setting higher bitrate cause i sold the phone, waiting for new unit so will test it again...
ideally would be to have EIS+4k and more than 60Mbit bitrate
Thanks for the feedback. Hope someone will answer you regarding bitrate.
I see in the open camera settings (video section) you can manually set the bitrate up to 100 mbps.
Have you looked at this?

Modded Samsung Camera apk to bypass video recording limit without root?

Hi there,
The stock camera app is the only one that supports 60fps in video recording.
However, the 5 min time limit in 4K is kind of annoying and I was wondering if there was a mod of the stock app that bypasses this limit.
I haven't rooted my device and don't intend to do so.
Thanks!
I would also like to know...

Shooting video with all lenses not available for the 5g version

So i've recently updated to colorOS 7.1 and i've read that one of the new feaures was that we could now shoot video with the 3 lenses.
I've tested this and in the app i don't see the option to do so , i've set the recoding settings to 1080p and 30fps with no luck , my version is CPH1921EX_11_C.26 ,
Can anyone using the same phone confirm that it is not available?
Is there a setting i'm missing that could turn this function on?
Thanks in advance
In the no 5g version that came with the c.28 update, but It seems that the updates are not the same for both devices so I don't know.
I have the Aussie Reno 5G with build CPH1921AU_11_C.26.
It only uses the top camera to record video with 1x to 5x zoom... If you use the super steady option then it removes any zoom function.
Only one camera is used to film video...
