My fingerprint sensor does not recognize any fingers
First vibrates then go to lock, pin, or pattern sometime it's goes straight to pin or pattern screen without vibration
It's really annoying me. Any solution often
Off screen lock don't delete fingerprint
Again on screen lock add fingerprint
It doesn't work me?
Waiting for solutions Any suggestions

Restore or flash fastboot?
Have you upraded the Bootloader? The Radio? Is the Rom (that older Rom) compatible with the Bootloader Version? Check it and write back

Did you try this : Screen lock > Register unrecognized finger
and add patern/pin
then go to settings
and don't delete the fingerprints
but remove the screen lock itself
and then add screen lock and register fingerprint

Go to twrp. Then enter file manager. Navigate to /data/system/. Now delete the following files:
password.key
pattern.key
locksettings.db
locksettings.db-shm
locksettings.db-wal
This will clear all saved pattern/pin/fingerprints.
You can boot into your system and set them again.

I have received an update lately (MIUI Gloval 8.1 Stable - 8.1.1.0) and my struggle began. My problem is that now every time if I touch the fingerprint sensor the phone unlocks. It's REALLY annoying guys. Sometimes I lock my phone and put it down and the screen unlocks because accidently I touched it. Fingerprint is disabled, furthermore I have no lockscreen whatsoever have enabled. The fingerprint sensor at the back acts exactly like the unlock button on the side. How the hell can I disable this annoying function?

Settings - Lock Screen & Password - Manage Fingerprints - Enter Password if you have one - Apply Fingerprint to Lock Screen - choose disable?
Fingerprint wakes up the device if u haven't added any fingerprints.
That's a thing in marshmallow MIUI (even on the beta builds), it's not a bug, tapping on fp without any registered FPs wakes up the screen.
Furthermore, u said that there's 'NO LOCKSCREEN' you kept(so i assume there's neither swipe to unlock screen) so fp is waking your device everytime,and consequently,screen gets unlocked.
I see. Any way to completely disable this function? I dont want that sensor to work at all.
Me too, I have the same problem, the fp sensor wakes up the screen when I'm touching it accidentally most of the time. How can we disable this annoying "feature"?
Hello everyone,
would like to ask those with Oreo, if Honors internal app "Screen Lock" is still present.
In v.183 I can map it as Shortcut in Nova Prime for "double tap" and still use fingerprint unlock without that 5 sec delay.
And Novas admin can still be inactive.

With oreo, Screen lock doesn't work anymore with Nova. Flashlight too. Rotation of lock screen is not working too. I forget, proximity sensor is off when screen off, can't wake up your device with gravity screen for example.

Ouch... that's bummer. So no Oreo for me, at least till Honor get their softw right.
But I guess it's probably also a Googles fault partially
screen lock and flashlight doesn't work IF you use huawei widget ,but for sure ,it's possible to lock screen by shortcut ( from other apps ) or use flashligt from other app or shortcut in taskbar. I tink it's more EMUI8 than Oreo.

Of course it is possible to use lock screen from 3rd party app, but lock screen in Nova works OK. The thing is that it's only work with 5 sec delay, as every other lock screen except original Huawei (which is not accessible in other than Emui launcher). Flash light i don't care as it's working from taskbar or tons of 3rd party app.
Wake up screen is no problem neither as fp reader is in front, which I prefer anyway.
Anyone get this to work?
Changed to nova launcher, and found out the existing widget now can't be used.
Hate the device admin screen lock, as well as the 5 seconds delay screen lock(as I can still input the touch screen and back button...)
My Redmi Note 3 Kate have no screen lock or password configured.
Im using global beta 8.4.19; magisk, twrp.
Its okay for me FP turn on the screen, didnt know it can work like that.
I didnt set anything and I cant find anything to turn off that, I mean, just touching the FP circle, it turns on the screen with any finger or skin contact.
How can I turn off that?
Hi guys! Noticed that my pocophone's screen wakes up whenever I touch the fingerprint sensor. I didn't enable the fingerprint authentication nor enable any security unlock(pin, pattern or password)
But the screen keeps on waking up whenever i touch the fingerprint sensor. I just want to disable this feature as it keeps on turning on while on my pocket.
It turns on even with pocket mode enabled.
Can be disabled in custom ROMs, not so in MIUI

Chaire! I tried doing so in MIUI but failed. I believe that there maybe an option to disable that in custom ROMs.

Hi! What particular custom rom is it? This is just a new phone. I'll have to wait for a few days before I can unlock it.
If no fingerprint is setup, it will wake the screen with slight touch. If you set the fingerprint, it will not wake the screen in the pocket. Probably better if you just set the fingerprint and use the face unlock as it unlock the screen so fast even in the dark.

Chaire! LineageOS Extended 15.1 allows for completely disabling FP if you do not use it. But is it worth going to these lengths for such a small feature?

I m wondering whether it is possible to unlock with any finger that is not registered. I know it is against the idea of fingerprint security. But i want this to use fingerprint censor just for unlocking the device without pressing power button and swiping.. I am already using only swipe action to unlock locksceeen which is sometimes annoying for it has a an issue..

i am also finding the same thing, my old xiomi note 4 installed with linage os and it has this function
