Lg K7 Sms uninstalled and some stock apps now camera wont work - LG K7 Questions & Answers

I rooted my Tmobile LG k330 using kingroot and then unistalled it and replaced it with superuser. A couple weeks after, my camera stopped working and I couldnt even access my gallery at first. Wait.. It gets better. My sms starts continually alerting me that it has stopped and I had to use titanium pro to freeze the app so it would stop flashing . Eventually I uninstalled it and installed a non stock version from the playstore. All well and good but I have tried every trick out there on how to get my camera to start working again but every technique out there never worked for me. First off, superuser stops working and says that I have no bootlaoder on my mobile and the site it sends me to is of no use and is confusing to figure out how I lost booloader in the first place. Back to my camera.. So it says that it is unable to work even with other playstore camera apps bc another app was using camera but no matter what forum advice out there tells me to do to find out what maliscious app could be the culprit and even through process of elemination tactics using safety mode I cant locate the real issue. My software update wont update. It goes to restart and as its almost half way through installing it reads error and freezes so that I cant even do a hard reset. Im at the end of my ropes and dont know what to do. No factory reset bc of uninstalled stock with no back up. Cant I somehow reinstall stock apps from lollipop through a particular site? I would would wipe everything on my mobile just to return it to its original function. Is there a way to flash an LG Software system with the same original bootloader and stock apps thatI originally had on my phone

Hello, Damian0402.
I do not know what to say in regards to the camera / SMS suddenly not functioning. I'd assume that means you tampered with them or perhaps something else you installed tampered with them at some point (although that's moot at this point and really no sense in discussing it, unless it happens again).
Flashing the phone to factory stock:
I'd suggest you visit this link, download the image for your phone ("K330" f / h / i / j / k / L -- Which?): https://mega.nz/#F!sdwRDLbZ!yPOiRPv5QJS_9I4hzL4ptQ!YBRwWazA
You need to look up exactly what K330 image you need to flash with. I use MetroPCS and is listed as "m" in the software under "About" in my phone, but I actually run the "MS330 10i" shown in that website. Try Googling everything about your device.
Tool to use:
I can not say beyond a doubt that this will function with a T-Mobile version, but I have no reason to doubt it!
You can use the "LG UP" software to flash the stock ROM firmware (found at that link; The KDZ file is ~1GB or more).
You'll want to download the Lab v1.10 version of LG UP: https://www.mylgphones.com/download-lg-up-software
On the right panel, you'll see "LG USB drivers" hyperlink. This'll ensure you have the proper drivers.
Initiating "download mode":
Power down your device completely. Press and hold the "VOLUME UP" key; While holding the VOLUME UP KEY: Insert the USB cable (it should already be attached to the PC).
The phone will automatically power on and the "DOWNLOAD MODE" image should appear, nearly instantly. After this appears: Release the VOLUME UP key.
You should be able to place the phone down and run the LG UP software. You need to select "UPGRADE" (not "refurbished"), then locate the KDZ file (bottom right corner of the program is a vertical "3-dot" image; Used to navigate to your *.kdz file).
Merely hit "START" and wait about ~300s (~5m). The phone will reboot itself. You can exit the program at this point by pressing "Exit."
That's all.
Regarding Kingroot / Kingoroot:
I'm not entirely sure I trust those "one-click-root" programs. There's nothing harmful about them, however: You should be informed that you can root your own phone WITHOUT those programs!
Tools you'll need and use:
TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project)
SuperSU (SuperUser; The same type program Kingroot/KingOroot install)
ADB (Android Debug-bridge -- Which Kingroot uses remotely I suspect)
This is a thread I wrote last night; I use the MetroPCS variant, but the steps are identical: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-k7/how-to/guide-lg-k7-ms330-concise-tutorial-t3722050
You should be able to use the TWRP listed in the forum post (LG K7 (M1)). You might want to NOT erase/flash recovery partition first. Just live-boot it. If it works: Great! Decide if you want to flash it.
I hope this solves your issues! Also: TWRP / ADB can be used to create a FULL backup directly on your PC without using the phone's internal memory or external memory at all. Which is awesome if you have an 8GB (uncompressed) backup file to make.
My two cents: Rooting the phone yourself with ADB/TWRP/SuperSU is a very fun, interactive and easy process!

LG C800
Device will not enter fastboot.
Can't get into recovery mode.
Each time it boots it hard resets. There is an unofficial CWM Recovery Rom on this forum from chui101 which is for this exact phone, but I have as of yet not had any luck in getting the phone to take it.
So far i've tried Flash_image recovery.img (renamed chui's CWM recovery file to recovery.img)
Doesn't seem to matter what I do the phone starts(LG on screen), resets (the LG goes away for a sec then comes back), does a hard reset (a white box with an arrow pointing out of it an to a little android), again resets the phone one last time for a "normal" boot.
I've tried a few different things to try and flash anything overtop of the stock recovery but nothing works. It seems like very early in the bootstrap is a command to do a hard reset and anything that gets put in AFTER that command is ignored. (And the phone hard resets and anything else it was supposed to do is gone.)
Device is rooted with SuperSU.
Phone is fully functional except that it hard resets every boot, and if its plugged in when off it doesn't go to a charging screen, it starts the phone 100% up.
Adb devices CAN see the phone.
I CAN get into Download (sometimes called Emergency) mode.
"reboot recovery" doesn't do anything but reboot the phone as described above.
I can't afford a new phone guys, so I'm over a barrel at this point.
i'll pay whoever provides meaningful help in getting this thing fixed.
You should start fresh. So, flash the stock rom FTF of your phone, then the phone should boot up normally. Then you could either root it and install a CUSTOM recovery, or flash a pre-rooted custom kernel that already contains a recovery. From there, just flash the custom rom you want
Just press thanks if I helped, no need for money
stock rom FTF?
From the factory?
I'd love to do that. But am bewildered as to how when every guide I've found says use fastboot -- which doesn't work on my device. And every guide without fastboot thus far has not worked. I've been reading 10 hrs a day for the last 3 days looking for a solution to this.
If there was a way to completely wipe the entire phone and then install stock rom I'd be glad to do it.... I have found no such guide... only those to replace recovery. (not a 100% clearing as if it came right off the line with no software yet installed)
Additional information:
mv /system/recovery-from-boot.p /system/recovery-from-boot.p-bak
Spits out a "No such file or directory" error
I don't know about you, but for Xperia Devices there is a PC software called Flashtool to flash stock roms and custom kernels and stuff from the PC. There should also be a software like that for your device. You just download the stock FTF for your phone (just type in google "download stock FTF for LG C800") and flash it in Flashmode that should be working
One more thing, this issue is not called bricked
press thanks if i helped
There is an LG tool but it says current software is up to date.
Other option is run recovery, which just reboots the phone as is.
No, this software I am talking about is not made by LG or Sony in my case. It should be a general tool for all LG devices. it should root, flash, install busybox, etc......

LG MOBILE SUPPORT TOOL ?
Thats the one that so far doesn't work.
the one named:
KDZ_FW_UPD_EN ?
He doesn't appear to support GSM phones. Plus I hit "Read info from phone" button... it gets almost everything -- correctly -- then crashes.
IT wants kdz files... looking for them now... chui has a dl link for the stock recovery but even though its a few mb it looks like only a zipped folder hierarchy with no files.
Slightly mis-read. still not finding any "generic" flashing software
trying octopus now....
crashed....
run as admin..... ah... you need their hardware which is hundreds of dollars...
Flash image gui, phone is not supported.
ok, a couple cyanogen dev's have both told me i'm screwed. Imma try for the rest of today and then just never turn it off again.
ok, paying lg to fix it... anybody guess what that will cost?
Try flashing CyanogenMod on your phone as no stock firmware is avaiable currently for your phone cyanogenmod shall fix the problem and you should boot normally (first flash CWM)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752704 - flashing cwm recovery (do it!)
Flashing cyanogenmod (requires usb debugging on)
First to put the cyanogenmod rom in the sdcard use adb push - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667929
Page 1 (Pre Requisites - http://droidnoob.com/update-lg-c800-to-android-4-0-4-ics-via-cm9.html
Page 2(The actual flashing part :victory - http://droidnoob.com/update-lg-c800-to-android-4-0-4-ics-via-cm9.html/2
Probably will fix the problem....
hi techmasta,
I'd love to flash cyanogenmod, but the phone never enters fastboot to flash anything. The first link you posted says to use fastboot. I can't do that. The phone doesn't goto fastboot, it runs its recovery first.
EDIT: if there is a way to force it while the phone is in download mode that could probably work.
secondly, I've spend more than 40 hours on this issue, mostly reading forums but still a great deal on google.
I'm pretty unhappy with google as neither of those droidnoob forums ever come up. And believe me, there isn't much out there referring to the lg c800 so they should have!

How to fix security error on boot LG9

I hit a wall with this issue. After rooting and trying to install a new rom, I am getting the security error on the LG logo. I can access updater with vol+ and insert usb, but I am stuck on how to restore anything or access boot menu. Any suggestions? The computer no longer seems to be able to access the phone as a device via command prompt.
Thanks in advance!
See thread above you...

I searched but could not decipher a clear way to fix the problem. This is what I did to fix it.
Open LG Mobile Update (Make sure you have internet on)
Input MEID (located behind battery)
Connect phone to computer via USB in S/W upgrade mode (Vol+ then insert USB)
Let LG download and install phone recovery
NOTE: Recovery stopped at 4% install, but just leave it alone, and it will install correctly. It never went past 4%
NOTE: This will return your phone to factory settings like the day you got it, so you will have to re-root if you use this method.
There may be a way to fix this without losing root, but this was the only way I could figure out.

It depends on your internet connection. The process should take about 1 to 3 hours.

Do you have a download link for the updater that asks for the IMEI? My LG Mobile Updater only asks for phone model.
Also, am I supposed to be doing a regular software update or "upgrade recovery" option?

Connect the phone without battery to computer and install fast boot drivers for omap chipset. Again check the dev section " how to install fast boot drivers"
Unlock the darn boot loader
Flash CWM recovery
Restore via nandroid back .
Offline flash method is bit completed and may not work every time
After trying to restore a nandroid backup via CWM, phone is hard-bricked. Sent to service, where they changed (mother)board.
Just for those, who lost their faith (in LG9) - when you see 'security error' on each boot (like I saw yesterday) after flashing CWM on not unlocked bootloader and, after stock ROM flashing, you see dead android with exclamation heart outside - it is normal, and it is still OK - thanks to bootloader being locked
- u can use any good method to flash stock ROM back - I have used this program combined with official LG Mobile Supprt Tool
- I have turned phone off (by battery removing for a moment)
- kept Volume up pressed when connecting to USB - I had no message that any phone is connected - I didn't bother
- flashed stock (20o in my case)
- saw 'dead' android with its exclamation heart outside - bothered for a moment
- removed battery to restart phone
- I have found that all is working  back
- rooted with Kingo in a minute
- then a step u can omit - I passed the whole procedure again, as I'm faster then smarter
All done with W8/64-bit and my 10cm nokia usb cable, which I found the best in flashing when some longer or 'filtered' cables do not see the phone
I recently switched phones(both same model optimus fuel due to loose heaphone connection) long story short all my info is on 1st phone(important texts/phone numbers) I only have one battery to share between the two phones(wasn't huge deal!) I could just put battery back in my old phone if I needed info from an old text ect! today I put battery back in and tried to turn it on all it does is blink on and off the screen with Lg logo and security error comes up(won't go anywhere else??) can't understand how all of a sudden this happened sitting around with no battery in it nor was it jarred gotten wet ect?? any help appreciated call or text me at(814)493-7199 Jim thanks

Can someone answer what flashing does NOT mean.
1) It does NOT wipe your user data, correct?
2) It means fix the OS to make the phone start up (without affecting user data), correct?
3) I see people give advice to flash or use S/w recovery tool. But I need confirmation that it doesnt factory wipe or delete user data.
4) Or please tell me what method I should do to preserve the internal SD card, or harvest it, or if there is a way to connect the cord in a certain [phone mode] so I can download the data from a phone that wont start (logo loop).
Thanks.
Oh, you cited me and if u mean LG L9 - I do not remember exactly now, it was a short adventure. There is no general answer to your questions 1 - 3, it depends on the data organization in the system. As far as I remember it was OK for the given procedure, but not for sure . maybe someone else can help. And good but too late for you advice is to make copies of all important data and settings before u try to change anything in your system.

[GUIDE] The Easiest Way to Root, Unlock, Install Recovery on the E970

Please delete this post; I posted in the wrong section and have reposted in the right place.
--------
Hey guys!
Many people on the ALGOG forums have posted ways to root or unlock the bootloader or install a recovery on the E970. However, there hasn't yet been an easy-to-follow, all-in-one post. So, I present to you the easiest way to root, unlock the bootloader on, and install a recovery on the AT&T LG Optimus G (E970), all untethered.
=== ROOT ===
The easiest way to root the E970 is via Framaroot, an untethered root tool that works with the ALGOG. Go to your phone, open a web browser, and google "Framaroot apk". Click the XDA link (normally the first one) titled "[ROOT] Framaroot, a one-click apk...". Scroll down all the way to the list of APK files and click "Framaroot-1.9.1.apk" to start the download. Once downloaded, select the APK file that has been downloaded and continue with the installation. Once installed, the root procedure takes a few minutes at most. Open the Framaroot app and use the Gandalf exploit. Soon, you'll receive confirmation that your phone has been rooted. You can use any root checker on the Play Store to further confirm the root if you so desire. I strongly recommend buying Framaroot donation app in the Play Store to support the developer (alephzain) of this wonderful app.
=== UNLOCK BOOTLOADER ===
The easiest way to do this is also through an app. Download the app "FreeGee" on the Play Store (the free version is good enough, but I'd recommend buying FreeGee to support the developers). The process is, again, really straight-forward: download the app, follow the instructions. Agree to any disclaimers and warnings. After a short wait, you'll reach the FreeGee app's home screen, where you'll carry out the final step.
=== INSTALL RECOVERY ===
Recoveries help you install new ROMs, and 'flash' (install) anything you see on XDA as 'flashable'. To install a recovery, enter FreeGee, and scroll down. Here there will be three options: CWM 6.0.4.6, CWM 6.0.4.7, and a TWRP recovery option. If you have weak eyes, you may prefer TWRP as it has bigger text and is easier to read. Personally, I recommend CWM 6.0.4.6, as it worked best for me. It doesn't matter so much and is really up to you; you can do your own research on Google and XDA to find out which would suit you best. Select the one you would like to install, and follow through the wizard. Within a minute or two, you'll be done.
That's it. Untethered, easy-to-do, and ready for you. If I helped you, feel free to Thank me. Feel free to contact me with any questions, or comment on this post for the help of other devs. See you later!

Cant unlock through freegee
I cant post it on Dev thread so posting here; anybody who could tag Shellnutt2 is heartily thanked.
Hii Shellnutt2
I have Optimus G e970 with software version E97011c kernel (3.0.21) (Freegee also shows so). Phone is rooted. SIM is unlocked.
I have been trying to unlock the bootloader through Freegee since yesterday, I have tried all 3 custom recoveries using both Classic & Mako. But no luck
When I start freegee it downloads a file of 350kb showing ‘Downloading supported device list’ then shows ;
Device Name-LG Optimus G, Device Model-LG-E970, Software version-E97011c
6 tiles namely- BackupEFS, RestoreEFS, Re-lock(restore backup), CWM6.0.4.6, CWM6.0.4.7, TWRP2.6.3.3
I have tried all 3 recoveries with both Classic & Mako methods but all that happens is;
After showing classic/mako options it reconfirms the action “This will install CWM and unlock your device as necessary”
Starts downloading some file (cwm-9.7/9.13mb, twrp-9.25mb) showing ”performing action CWM-6.0.4.7 …” & keeps on showing this infinitely even after downloading is complete nothing happens/changes. The same Performing thing keeps on revolving. I have tried all the
I tried entering the booloader out of hope(Voldown+Power); nothing happens I can only see a question " Factory hard reset; Press power to confirm"
FYI –
I had bricked this device once and after lots of attempts finally gave it to JTAG guy and he returned my phone in working condition with above mentioned software.
Since then I have not done anything except the Rooting. EFS is backed up.
However till yesterday before I tried Freegee for the first time my phone showed “Authentication Failed” if OTA update through Settings was checked; magically from yesterday it is showing “Update is available blah blah, size – 366mb”.

It is volume up plus power to enter recovery. Depending on which boot loader you have it may be a blind menu from there press volume up twice then power. If you need to contact shelnutt try irc and type in his username from list on right side of screen, it will ping him.

Edit... You could also try an app called Quickboot by Sirius to boot into recovery. If you get the screen with dead android lying on his back you do not have recovery installed. Hold power button to force reboot.

[Q][HELP] Huawei g730-u251 insanity

Hello, XDA forumites!
I've been lurking and reading a lot of threads in here for years, using all your knowledge to fix various phones. Today though is the day I first post and it is for good reason. I'm a guy who loves challenges but this one is making me go insane. I've spend the last two days looking for ways to fix this phone but NOTHING works.
So, the deal is that this phone turns on fine. It boots, it gets to the lockscreen and... it restarts itself. Again and again and again until the battery is removed. To fix it, I've tried the following:
- recovering/updating it through the Huawei official "firmware" supplied by the site: you put the file they supply on an SD card, inside a folder named "dload" and then hold vol up and down along with the power button to make the phone install the contents of that file, named UPDATE.APP. Needless to say it doesn't work. A menu appears with the options reboot system now, apply update from sdcard, apply update from cache, wipe/data factory reset, wipe cache partition and calibrate touch screen. Trying to apply update from sdcard only lets me browse the SD looking for the file but doesn't actually see the file itself, it just shows the dload folder empty (I've tried with 4 different versions of the file compatible with phones from Central America which is where I am ATM). Also, the factory reset does nothing (although it shows it wipes data), everything's there when I start the phone up.
- flashing it with SD Flash Tool: apparently partially works with the last version 3 of the tool (although nothing changes) while version 5 of SDFT doesn't even see the phone (drivers are correctly installed, adb detects it, more on this later). A problem that arises is that I can't flash the SEC_RO package on it (don't know why) nor the PRELOADER (not that one is supposed to normally, but I feel like it would fix my problem in this case).
- cleaning it in safe mode: booting it in safe mode made me notice that it was an app pretending to be Whatsapp causing the restarts (or, perhaps, the one that loads immediately after? The phone has several malware apps). In safe mode those apps didn't load so the phone stayed on. So I cleaned everything, activated USB debugging (for later use in adb mode) and restarted only to find everything as it was before I did the cleanup. I tried rooting it in safemode, cleaning again, still reverts to full "normality" after the restart. Same results when using the phone's proprietary SW HiSuite.
- installing CWM's recovery img through adb+fastboot: I installed all the possible - necessary or unnecessary - drivers (Google's, phone's official ones, PDANet ones) and the phone is correctly detected by the PC (visible in Device Manager) and is visible through the adb devices command. But as soon as I adb reboot bootloader it to fastload the CWM image, the phone stops being seen correctly and doesn't show up in fastboot devices, only showing "NEW: SAFE OLD:RISK" on a black background on its screen.
So, to recap: the phone restarts because of a malware at startup, reverts any and all changes made to it in safemode, doesn't wipe from the recovery menu, apparently has a corrupted bootloader and is impervious to normal flashing SW... Anyone got any more ideas on how to deal with it? The only option left that comes to mind is to fix it directly by flashing the internal memory using JTAG/RIFF but I don't have the equipment (nor do I intend to buy it).
Bump, hoping for some help...
One more bump, still stuck
First, don't get happy: I have no answer to your problem. Sorry. But I have a similar one. I was running a very efficient, rooted, stock ROM G730-U251, until I decided to switch from 'Ninjamorph Free' to 'Pro'. I've been made a lot of changes with Free version for a long time without any issues at all. Then, one day, when making a small, useless change with 'Pro', something went wrong; phone just rebooted and refused to get past bootanimation. With no custom recovery on hand, only solution for this is to flash ROM. Though I had no problem finding the official, stock UPDATE.APP, which flashed smoothly from the SD card to be fair. Mess came when, once flashed, I decided to install OTA update available, which I overlooked since phone was new. Big, BIG mistake. It just came with more restrictions than ever, letting me root, yes, but this time with 'Kingroot' only (as stock, I had no problem rooting with Framaroot) but soon discovered I wasn't able to use 'Super-Sume', 'Adaway' and 'Link2SD', because some system parts now CAN'T be mounted rw, even using ES File Explorer. To avoid any complication, decided to reflash UPDATE.APP just as I did before. No way I can do it this time. Don't know exactly why, but assuming it's not possible to update with a previous version of the 'same' ROM. So now I'm looking for a flashable stock ROM in order to try SP flash tool. Phone is in working state right now (not as yours), but I just don't feel comfortable with it as it is right now, because those apps are always the main reason why I actually root every single of my devices and simply because I like to have my stuff as my own way as possible. You know, truth is there's not much of an advanced support for this phone, not even here at XDA and I think that's because this is a Latin America version. We owners of G730-U251 devices are pretty much on our own, to say the least. Whatever, if the whole deal gets more complicated than it is, there's a strong possibility for me to end up getting rid of this phone. Sad. Really. It's actually a good phone. Though it WAS better...

Lg l16c Lucky fastboot?

Carrier is Tracfone, running android 4.4.2, and is rooted with kingoroot.
I can get to factory reset menu by holding vol down + power, releasing power only and holding again at LG logo, but can't seem to find download mode/fastboot. I have searched all over the place and I personally don't like posting on forums, but this phone is at the edge of unusable because I tried to replace home app with a third party, and now it crash loops the setup wizard making usb debugging unable to be accessed from the settings menu. But I have the home app's apk and can install it, if I can get adb working somehow, like through fastboot, which bring me to the actual problem: There isn't a fastboot, or I haven't found a way to activate it yet for this phone. I tried all kinds of different combinations and searched all over the internet looking for help. Nothing. but If download mode is accessible, is there a way to install apps via download mode? I don't know that much about download mode, just heard about it.
If this doesn't make sense/topics are wandering, sorry, I have been tired from thinking hard and working on another project that is actually doing better at murdering my brain then school.
Don't think so
I bought this phone last January. For a cheap phone it performs rather well. I rooted with Kingroot v4.5 and used the mrwolf script to replace Kinguser with SuperSu. Of course I had to modify the script for that version of Kingroot, the LGL16C's files that were affected by Kingroot, and the newer version of SuperSu I installed. This phone taught me how to manually replace Kinguser with SuperSu by only using RootExplorer. Pretty neat trick, have been able to do it with every cheap phone I've tried.
I had my LG Lucky rocking. Had Xposed installed, Luhkee Pasher worked great, Apps2SD partitioned my sdcard and moved apps to ext_sdcard and was running a swap partition for extra RAM. This little phone would format and partition sd cards that my more expensive devices would not.
It was a great disappointment when I discovered that the phone had no recovery. I was equally disappointed when I discovered that I couldn't use fastboot with it. If it has download mode, I have yet to discover that as well. I've searched the web high and low, numerous times at different intervals these past eight or nine months hoping that someone would post a factory firmware file, thread on how to install a recovery, how to install fastboot, etc...
I loaned my LG Lucky out to someone who had no means of accessing the internet a few weeks ago and they somehow soft bricked it. It turns on to the LG logo and stops. Without a recovery it's boned because adb "error: no devices/emulators found".
I have a backup.zip from TitaniumBackup but can't flash it. I pulled the firmware from the device when it was operational but have no way to push it back. So if you need any file or app from /system I have them.
I'm going to buy another one or two if I can find one. I think a person could use gparted to partition the hard disc for a recovery and a download mode. Right now it's over my head but I love to learn.
Also, this morning, I downloaded the tools and files from http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/unbrick-lg-model-download-recovery-t3060184 If I can get something out of this phone by using this guide, I'll use the ROM Kitchen I have downloaded to make a ROM from the files I pulled previously with ADB.
I'll be sure to post back here with the results from using the guide.
