Cracked screen edge by rubbing bubble out of screen protector - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions & Answers

My first Note 8 got knocked off a table and screen landed on the corner of a concrete step and destroyed the screen. Well got the replacement and put the screen protector on and today I rubbed a bubble out the top left corner and it cracked the screen. Is this a normal thing? Because if so this will be my last Samsung.

Tell me about it... cracked 2 diff note 8 screens both had cases on them and screen protector! My mom broke her screen dropping it off the bed and my brother broke his also. I'm convinced that they want us to think the screens are "Gorilla Glass" or whatever they claim these days but it's total B.S.. Now I am on the lookout everyday on Offerup for a blacklisted Note 8 so I can buy for cheap and replace my screen so when it comes time for me to trade the phone in j can get credit.

S3 broken glass and thoughts

I just broke my glass after a 50 cm drop on wooden floor, so I was thinking - are all phones that weak or is it just the S3 and maybe some other models. I have seen too many S3's with broken screen just where mine broke (top left corner), so I was thinking after I get it repaired - should I sell it and move on to a more rugged model/brand. What are you thought? Thanks.
Same here, had a phone tumbeld from 1st flor down the stairs and got without a scratch but a fall like yours costed me 200$

Yes, all modern phones have screens that will break easily. That's why people sell bumpers to protect them, £3 on a case saves you £150 on a new screen.

I have a £2 fake leather flip case on mine, was running down the stairs and it flew out my pocket and bounced down the wood stairs and hasn't even got a mark on it, anyway, as for your question, it depends how much it costs to fix.
When I had the S3, I dropped it a lot of times screen down on different materials (concrete, asphalt, etc) and I never had so much as a scratch on my screen

it looks like the glass on your phone' screen was glued in a forced/tensioned position
I bought my S3 second-hand, with broken display, bought separate display(with shattered glass only) and fixed it, both screen glass and reassembly - with alot of patience, a hot air gun/hair drier and a few bucks you can fix it yourself, its super easy + the achievement feeling is amazing
after I fixed mine I unwillingly dropped it on concrete from waist height(~110cm), back cover and battery separated from phone on impact(nasty drop), luckily nothing shattered, only the rim scratched at the bottom... yeah, a cover helps, tho I think in that particular drop it would've focused the impact force on the board or screen, resulting in more significant damage
still dont have a cover, living life on the edge here )
One month after I bought my s3, i placed it on charging with it's charging cable lying on the floor,
My sister rushed out, getting her foot in the cable and giving my s3 a great fall....
The silver lining broke from 2 places (top and bottom) but my phone remained scratch free....
It's about a year now, and my phone hasn't experienced a fall again... :victory:

[Q] Tempered Glass Protector

Does anyone here use a tempered glass screen protector for their Nexus 9? I was using mine on a treadmill and dropped it on it's back thankfully but I'm weary of that happening again. Is so, which brand do you use?

I purchased my Orzyl tempered glass on amazon.
What made me choose this was the rounded edges and thinness of the screen protector and I have had previously purchased a screen protector for my HTC one X a long time ago (so I knew this company is legit).
I accidentally dropped something metallic on the edge of the protector and it didn't shatter but it left a dink. This dink eventually turned into into a cracked screen protector but the crack didnt go everywhere; it just resides on the upper half of my screen and you honestly can't feel the cracked mark. It also fits snuggly but be sure to get it straight because mine is crooked LOL.
If I were to compare tempered screen protectors, this one is definitely the better one out of all I have purchased. The one I bought for my HTC M9 was 7 bucks but it already have light scratches on it already and I can see visible lines on my screen protector as if sand was gently rubbed on it. I can't even see a scratch on the Orzyl screen protector. IMO worth the buy.

OnePlus 5 Screen Protector "malfunction"

I just installed a screen protector (tempered glass) that i bought on ebay a few weeks ago because the plastic screen protector that came with my OnePlus started coming off so I put the glass one instead. After installing the SP I couldn't remove an air bubble all around the side of the SP(*first picture). On the second picture you can see that the bubble is a bit visible on both sides of the screen(when on), I was trying to show that the whole screen looks "dirty", just as if you just ate chips and touched the screen (i guess you know what that looks like) but my old Nexus 5X is bad af so it couldn't capture it. Do you guys think that this will eventually disappear or the bubble will just stay like that forever and should just get a new and better SP (recommendations btw)?
Looks to me like its struggling to adhere where the screen starts to curve. You will have to replace.
I don't think any of the manufacturers got the screen protector right, even OnePlus themselves had to discontinue their tgsp because it was getting shredded in the reviews. Out of the ones that I tried the best of a bad bunch was Orzly. Just had some dust issues but at least it can flex to the curve of screen.
Easy but efficient tip:
Wet a cotton but with olive oil, not much. Then with the cotton bud, rub it gently against the corners of the Screen protector, it will be filled with oil, give it some seconds and don't press that area, do it for the whole thing and profit. I your screen protector isn't too big it should last for a while before you have to do it again. Hope this is OK English.

Cracked screen on the Tab S7+

I bought the Galaxy Tab S7+ a few months ago and one of the first things I did was to install a tempered glass screen protector. I haven't used the tablet much at all - mostly for trips. Today I turned it on and discovered a hairline fracture in the glass, curving from the one side of the top of the screen to the other. I've never dropped the tablet and always store it in a drawer where nothing else sits on top of it. This is the 5th tablet I've owned and have never cracked a screen before. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it possible that Samsung made the glass a bit too thin in order to keep the weight down?
The battery may have failed, swelled and cracked it. The display may have been prestressed or have been mounted improperly.
More likely the former... or a Ioved one
Children are prime suspects.

Xperia 5 ii durability

I got up this morning and stumbled into the kitchen in the dark holding my Xperia 5 ii, my Kindle Paperwhite, my watch, my Star of David bracelet, and a mug of water. As I was putting the stuff on the counter the 5 ii slipped. I grabbed for the 5 ii and succeeded in propelling it faster towards the floor. I live in Mexico and the floor is concrete covered with ceramic tile. The 5 ii hit the floor...hard. I felt sick as I fumbled for the light switch. I saw the 5 ii on the floor and about six inches from it the glass screen protector. I picked up the phone gently and saw nothing broken. I turned the phone on and the screen came on. It was perfect. I let out a big sigh. The screen protector wasn't broken but is was very dirty on the side with glue. I tossed it and put a clean screen protector and all is fine.
I was very impressed with the 5 ii durability and I don't plan on testing it any further.
A broken frame...
For those interested, an Xperia 5 ii cannot handle being dropped from a pocket and be trapped between the car and the door. The frame is bent maybe 5mm and the back/front glass has separated from the frame. The front class is concave. However, it...

The phone still works and the screen is OK even if it is bent.
I have it at my homedesk, would like to get it back (but not to twice the price as the replacement).
I posted this somewhere else but I was heading into the kitchen before dawn and had a Kindle, my phone, my watch, and a bracelet in on hand and a cup of water in the other hand. The Xperia 5 II slipped out of my grip. I dropped stuff on the kitchen counter and grabbed for the phone. I missed and actually speeded it on it's plunge to the floor. It hit hard. I dreaded looking but I turned on the light and picked it up. The glass screen protector was about six inches away from the phone but the screen wasn't broken. I powered up the phone and it's fine. It was in a Spigen Liquid Crystal case and a Supershieldz glass screen protector. Oh, my apartment floor is concrete covered by 9" ceramic tiles. No rug, no carpet.
