video camera delay after 9.0 update - Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite Questions & Answers

Hey guys so i just updated the mi 8 lite to pie 9.0. I just noticed that there's a 10 second delay in the video camera. Photo mode works perfectly. I even tried clearing the data and cache and still the same. I downloaded open camera and that works fine. Anyone having this problem?

I have the same problem too

Did you figure it out yet? It's driving me crazy lol

So changing the save location from the SD card to internal seems to fix the problem if anyone is having delays with the video recording. Hope they make a fix for this as this only occurred after the pie update

I have a same/similar problem..
after update take photo as usually but the photo appear after a few seconds to the gallery, I have the problem only weith styock camera, if i use Open camera app is fine.
video recording the same....10 seconds delay before start....., open camera starts immediately fine.....
I have tried changing to internal memory/SD, resetting the camera, resetting google photos but nothing....
any suggestion??
many thanks

camera crash when taking movie

Tried both stock 20A and fulmic 20c 2.0. When taking HD and FHD movie using either rear lens, the camera app will freeze and have to force quit. I track it down to the anti shake mode. So either "Steady+HD" or "Steady+FHD" will crash, using OIS is fine. FHD60 and UHD in either antishake mode are fine though.
Anybody have the same problem or try to reproduce? maybe I have hardware problem because I search and didn't find anything. I'm on T-mobile but i think the camera app should be same across all models...Thx
When does the freezing occur?
After stopping the record or while you are recording? Or when you press the record button?
Sent from my sh!tty LG-H860 that is beyond crap
It froze when I press record. I then has to force quit the camera and when reopen no video is taken. I will see if i can get some logcat going....
Seems like nobody else has this problem? which is puzzling because it seems like a software issue.
Have you tried the hidden menu?
Test your camera there
*#546368#*850#
850 is your model number. If you have a 830 change this to 830

Oh wow thanks for this post. Mine started crashing exactly the same way in the last week. I ran into your post and sure enough, switching to OIS "fixed" the problem.

Oreo - strange problems with sound and videos

Hi, after upgrade to Oreo I have strange problems with sound and videos. Don't know for what reson the sound stops suddenly and the video works frame by frame. It does not matter if it's video from gallery or YT or music from spootify or built-in player. After reboot everything is ok but no one knows when it will happen again.
EDIT: ok I know when this start to happend. After using of @cstark27 google phone app ;/ Anyone can confirm that?
look for an apps that eats CPU or has memory leaks.
however you might put it... your installed apps are to blame
I can confirm that problem. It also happens with other gcam mods. I guess for now using the stock camera app seems to be the only solution :/
EDIT: It only seems to happen when using HDR or HDR+. During the HDR post processing (which is inidicated through that little loading animation in the gallery app) music suddenly stops playing.
EDIT 2: I think i found a solution. As odd as it may sound, but enabling camera.raisr in the developer settings stops the camera from breaking music and video playback.

Mhmm very strange. I did reinstall the app tough. Maybe the combination of reinstalling, enabling camera.raisr and clearing the apps cache afterwards fixed it
Unfortunetly still the same...Have no idea whay is wrong.
Does enabling the camera.use_photos option on both apps, and force closing/rebooting solve it?
So it seems that to fix the issue, one need to do this in that order :
• Clear Data from both apps
• Reboot (might not be needed but sound safer)
• Go back under Developper settings of both apps and uncheck camera.raisr and check camera.use_photos
Seems to be stable after this, even after subsequent phone reboots
Will add this to this forum sticky
Thanks cstark ! Will keep you posted if the reboots come back.

MiUI Stock Camera Lags

Since the Update on MiUI 10 the stock Camera App is lagging. When I switch from Photo to Video mode it takes up to 10 seconds till I can start recording.
After I took a Photo I am not able to open the last Photo. It is not shown until the Camera App is restarted.
I have already cleared App Data and Cache.. Any suggestions? Has anybody the same problem?
The Google Pixel Camera App is also not working without any issues..
No problems here. MIUI 10.1.3.0.
Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk
Same problem when moving to video waiting about 10 sec
Can we get some helps with this ? MIUI 10.1.3.0 i can open last photo but switching to video taking too long ..
I found solution ,in camera setings untick to store pictures and videos on sd card . Then moving from camera to video is fast

Slow Motion problems

Hi all, i have a big problem with slow motion mode.
It's not the "popular problem" of bad quality or low light, but is very annoying.
The problem is that the phone cannot save the recorded video, this started when I updated from android 8 to 9, i've passed through the beta channel of pie, now it's offical in italy! :highfive:
I've tried all possible things, reset my device, switch between sd card and internal memory in camera settings, use the app in safe mode, clear cache and data of camera and gallery related apps but nothing.
The error appear when i click on save/share button.
Thank's in advance.
