Frequently asked questions.
Q : I get error 255/7 while flashing from recovery
A : Flash using correct TWRP.
Q : How do I flash the rom?
A : No rocket science Just wipe /system /cache /dalvik's cache & internal storage from twrp, Then simply flash the rom package and reboot.
Q : Can I dirty flash the next build?
A : If you are upgrading from previous builds of this rom to the current builds then O'course you can dirty flash by just flashing the new rom package , gapps package and wiping both the cache partition however i advice you to refrain from doing dirty flash. Follow the instructions if posted after a build drop and flash the package accordingly if instructions explicitly mention about clean flashing.
Q : Where do I get compatible gapps?
A :.As of now our device system partition is small so mind the gapps work, incase you want to use opengapps go through the link
Q : Is root access included in this Rom?
A : No it is not. Some testers have had success with Magisk though.
Q : Can I flash ABC mod? Does the ROM support it?
A : Yeah sure, but I will not support you. And no, the ROM probably does not support it.
Q : Is VOLTE supported ?
A : No. JIO 4G app works as of now.
Q : Is the ROM suited for daily usage ?
A : Yes, Looks like all basic daily usage stuff is functional.
Q : WHEN UPDATE?? GIB UPDATE PL0X.
A : I only post updates when there's a decent list of changes. I'm a college student and there's only so much I can do. Please do not spam my PM regarding this.
I will not respond to any messages demanding ETAs.

Bugs that i have found so far :
- Proximity sensor isn't working;
- No default option for APN. Customize manually;
- The device takes long time to find mobile phone signal after rebooting when the wifi is turned on;
- FM Radio is not working;
- Lag occurs when "night light" mode is activated;
- "Hardware button" -> navigation, gesture not working;
- "Show cpu info" toggle has been activated but nothing happen.
It is the most stable custom rom i have found so far. No lag, no heating issue, good battery life, all sensors - except proximity - work perfectly. I am using this rom for daily use because redmi 2 is my daily driver. SERIOUSLY... I'm not kidding. Anyone in 2019? XD.
Thanks for making this rom, Ayushd70. Waiting for the next update.

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][7.1.1][VoLTE][AQSD] LineageOS 14.1

Hi,
After a while doing changes on A6020 source, I finally think it's good enough to make it public.
This ROM is based on @Shreps LineageOS 14.1, but with MANY patches that fix almost any bug that I could find.
I called this project AQSD (Android for Qualcomm SnapDragon), and I'm using this nomenclature as an WARNING: due the changes done, older kernels/mods maybe won't work with any rom based on AQSD.

First build - 13/02/2017
- Sound:
-- Ported from Redmi 3:
--- Fixed: Noise after boot (You'll still get a noise while booting, but it stops after boot process is done. I'm working on a fix)
--- Fixed: Headphone detection during boot
--- Clean: All audio props were re-done
- Sensors:
-- Fixed: Auto-brightness (Lux factor was wrong, also, thermal-engine had an wrong entry)
-- Fixed: Gyroscope (Missing permission)
- Misc:
-- Fixed: Offline charging
-- Fixed: Battery Management System (Service wasn't starting during boot)
-- Improvement: Change MENU button behaviour (Now it shows "open apps", as in stock.)
-- Improvement: Variant script was cleaned (Now it deletes unused files)
-- Improvement: DTS files were cleaned (Less code, same behaviour)

Current Bugs:
- Noise while booting (Only during boot, after boot is done it'll cease by itself. READ: You don't need to change volume for fixing it anymore.)
- VoLTE isn't enabled on startup (Workaround: You'll need to enable "Advanced 4G Voice" on settings, after each reboot.)
ATTENTION:
I only own an K5 Plus (L36 variant), and so, I can't be sure if it'll work with non-plus variants. You can try, and post the results.
HOW TO:
- Install TWRP recovery. (Only if you don't have already)
- Boot in recovery mode. (Vol UP + Vol DOWN + Power)
- Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
- Install ROM (Download at the bottom of the post)
- Install GAPPS (Download at the bottom of the post)

This volte bug is on every custom ROM.
2.Camera can't zoom in as much video camera zoom(or stock).
3.white balance on camera not working.
..Can anyone confirm 2 and 3 number bugs.
Nice work.

For sdcard not working you need to bootup in twrp and browser into twrp file manager and delete .android_security folder in your sdcard to get working back the stock filemanager.
I do not believe this, the notification issue is finally gone, outstanding work on this rom. The only bug I found so far was the timezone issue, that keeps setting my device to china, but besides that, evwrything works flawlessly. Oh, one more thing, I have tried to set cache to f2fs and got a bootloop, so I do not advise peoplw to try. I switched it back to ext4 and the rom booted fine. At least, it's working for data. ?

A6020a40 (SD616) here. The noise isn't stopped when the phone is done booting. It is when the screen is unlocked that it is stopped, and that's probably because of the playing of the unlock sound.
Other than that, great job on the ROM! So far, this is the best version of LineageOS I've used on my device.

1. Screen Recorder is not able to save the video. (DU is saving but most of the time black and white and some yellowish lines) AZ and ScreenCam are not even saving anything.
probable solution: NONE:crying:
2. Performance lag is there. probable solution: flash magisk 15.2 and then after rebooting install latest magisk manager.:good:
e.g. Typed whole word then it shows up suddenly.
When on call it takes time to reach Home after clicking Home button
3. Network drops when GPS is on (Airtel 4G SIM).
probable solution: delete system/vendor/bin/mtk_agpsd:fingers-crossed:
I will add others when encounter.

I believe that network drop is due to low LTE signals of Jio and in mados we have fatser network switching when the signals are below specified limits. As Jio doesn't have any fallback networks(3g or 2g) it causes the network to entirely drop and it comes back when signals are good enough @DerTeufel1980
Gps fix ..? While using gps mobile network goes off every time
Jio 4g voice not working on cpn3 please volte pach update
Thanks!
Thanks for the ROM.....
But why is LTE Only, WCDMA Only or GSM Only modes are not working...
And zero brightness bug is also there (i mean when you move the slider to left most then the screen becomes fully dark).
RIL crash is there when an app try to access FINE_LOCATION or COURSE_LOCATION.

To avoid the ril crash with GPS, you/one needs to delete system/vendor/bin/mtk_agpsd.
You need to be rooted for this...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Thanks for the oreo, you had fixed camera bug, network switching bug, file system bug. But got some problems. gps works fine but if gps is on while data network is on, which causes a reset for both sims, leads to frequent disconnection and unstable network ( when ever any app request for location). second the brightness is very low in front camera video recording mode, you can see clear differnce if you switch to photo mode. Also camera got stuck while recording videos in instagram, it's deadlock only force quit intagram is the only option to make camera work again. Please fix these asap
Also problem while sending videos via instagram , videos become black and white , i think problem with hardware encoding

Thanks that works but after reboot network dropped two time but recovered instantly. Please also check - if one sim's signal gone it resets and scans for network but i think it resets the second SIM for no reason even if it has full signal.

YouTube app freezes
The ROM is good. However, YouTube freezes after sometime and the phone just hangs. Need to force reboot somehow in order to solve this issue. YouTube is practically unusable now. Please look into this issue.
After 4th Jan update.. whether I play video in full-screen after some time screen freezes . Force restart is only option after that. Same with WhatsApp video call.

If you expect anything in future then wait for it in the future itself! Present generation can't think or predict about the future.
I'd say stay happy with what you have right now at this very moment. Coolpad got oreo being a mtk device is in itself a nice thing, hardly a bunch of mtk devices have development support.
With regards
Kubersharma
Works with all ROM Kernel: Linux 3.x? 'cause I have 3.18.19+
Some bugs I found
- Phone freezes after some time while in fullscreen on YouTube.
- Hide quick settings on secure lockscreen not working.
Some feature requests
- Immersive mode quick tile.
- Stay awake quick tile.
- 180° rotation support.
Some features which I think are not right
- All the info in status bar (clock, battery) are a little off the edge of screen. Don't know why but, it makes the notification icons overlap.
Some questions I have
- What is MAD mode?
- I am a heavy android user who does HD gaming and browsing all day. Are the kernel settings optimised for that kind of use or should I tweak them to squeeze more battery?

Not able to add call... if I touch add call it mutes instead. Also if I get a second call my phone it just gives me the beep sound of second call and doesn't wake the screen. I have to wake it and see whose calling and if I answer it by swiping upward the call is received but the screen continues to show incoming call receive screen. Phone basically hangs into that incoming call receive screen. I have to do a soft reboot to come out of it.

You can flash the recovery.img from TWRP itself. Go to the directory and tap 'Install Image' button. Select the recovery partition and flash.
ROM has been pretty stable for me, good amount of customization without overkill.
Performance is snappy, about equal to Hashbang's LOS that this is based on but with similar bugs, I'm guessing likely kernel & modem related:
• Wifi-Calling being on still causes silence when a call connects (Simple Mobile). Also makes me think that having it off is causing a lot of calls to go straight to voicemail instead of ringing.. could be coincidence
• Had the no notification/ringers/alarms bug initially but swapping my own sound files in, giving them the proper permissions, reboot with a dalvik & cache clear and it worked again (before on LOS and I think RR I had to replace audio xml files for it to work which i think caused new different audio related issues)
• Usual slow camera, flashlight bugs, no big deal
Really interested in the MicroG features and curios whether something has to be done in the ROM specifically to set it up. Would it improve battery life enough to go through the trouble?

I dont have this issue on NR. Funny enough. I did om rest.
I see no real hickups. All working here. Full pulldown on notifacation/ followed by edit, will freeze a sec, and go back to home screen, but just once each time - no biggie. Just a edit problem, once set up np.
But would like to see an option to see ram usage in recent, not just omni, no fan of omni Lol personal prefference. Absolut not a must, just so used to have it there.
Other than this GJ, new dayly driver. Ty. :highfive:
If my help can be used for some, just throw a holla OP :good:

ROM boot and works without GApps. I have been installing test builds without GApps. You just have to manually install each apk and restore contacts.
Only thing that affects battery when using ROM with GApps is Location History, you can turn it off. Also you can disable Google Assistant so it won't run background processes to detect OK Google. It would get you almost similar battery life, as using without it.
As for WiFi-Calling, I don't think so we have that in India, so I can't test or even try to debug.

RR have this feature m8. Likewise CR. So my guess is most los. But cant seem to find it anywhere here. Went it all through step by step.
But its not a must in any kind.
Ill go look for the settings in RR also if you need med to?
I have no device with RR atm, but an s5 with CR nougat. I guess its maybe an aosp recents? Says so in CR recent screen settings, if any help. Have no SD card back before tomorow, and ill then reflash RR and screen the settings. Ill add two of CR settings. Its on Sgs5 though, but they look the same, and had the same on the xt1572 RR/CR
Im no developer my self.
But done some dif testing back in the days with insanity and slim. those days. So by me saying holla if need help, is could you test this for me, then OFC!

Thanks for your work on this and reply. What audio files are you referring to? I just have my own ogg & wav files which i put into the subdirectories in /system/meda/audio and delete the stock ones, change permissions and go from there.
Regarding the MicroG, my most recent knowledge is from here: https://lineage.microg.org/#instructions which mentions a MicroG settings app that masks itself sets up "google" services for the apps that require it. GCM etc. That's what I was looking for but didn't find here so was just wondering It's open-source as far as I know, would it be possible to include in some future version of the ROM?
Another bug I've had recently is phone calls not waking the screen.
I am absolutely happy with the ROM. Not finding anything wrong. Being a moderate user I feel Nuclea works perfectly. A small glitch while opening camera. It takes a bit more time than usual. Otherwise no issues.

RR team did finally publish the sources .. RR 7.0 is live !
Tested the SM-T580 build as dirty install on top of Lineage-16.0 (64-bit) - no problems at all.
Magisk 18.0 works fine too.
Enjoy Resurrection Remix
Hi @followmsi,
Thanks again for your dedicated work(s ) on our tablet.
One question:
Is cam recording via Skype (or other apps) working on both sides (back and front)?
Or only on one side (front(face)) like other PIE releases?
Thanks for your reply.

awesome,
just tested with T585 very briefly. It installed ok, the system ui crashed during first boot, but after a reboot everything went fine.
Tested the cameras with open camera app and camera2 api enabled - both cameras take photos and can record videos. Flash working ok. Didn't test with skype or other apps.
The photo camera app (I think google camera from gapps, maybe, or the default camera app - I'm not sure) keeps crashing sometimes, even without opening it manually, but that happened on other pie roms aswell.
Using the GPS was freezing the tablet at first (as usual with pie for me). But after awhile started to work ok and got a fix on gps test app.
The only thing I'm worried about now is how the charging will behave. On other pie roms (and I think probably on some oreo roms) it kept stopping at around 80% for me (when using a low power charger, but I think I tried with the original charger a few times and results were the same. It will take some time to test this using different chargers (keeping my fingers crossed, that it would be enough to charge once with the low power charger and confirm that it charges to 100% at first try. But if not - another few charging cycles will be needed). Will post about any results regarding charging.
Also I have a question - does this rom include the kernel that has CIFS support, or should we install it separately (didn't find the time to test this yet, sorry..)
Anyway - good job, seems like a great start with RR pie for our tablets.

Same sources .. looks like the same "problem" .. maybe we need to adjust config only.
Video recording works on both front and back camera in builtin snap camera.

GPS is your very special problem
As said above .. builtin Snap camera works too - without issues. ( video and photo on both cams )
I dont not have any charging issues .. always 100% !
Same kernel for all (my) ROMs.
Yes - CIFS, NFS and ExFAT are part of all (my) Pie Roms. ( AICP too )
It's fix in the kernel sources and will be included into each new ROM automatically .. forever
Cheers

Did you by any chance add sysserv so Substratum can work properly or are you waiting for them to fully fix it first?

It sure is.. Ever since the first custom rom I installed on the tablet - RR nougat. Though I believe it will start functioning flawless at some point
Though I thought the gps freezes are a one time thing after installing/restoring a pie rom, but it started freezing again when trying to use location again after a few hours when it was turned off. But I'll keep testing of course and maybe even resort to installing a stock rom through odin if I am convinced that it is different to restoring the custom rom with twrp (gps works fine this way on stock).
Also, I couldn't get the cifs mount to work, using the same command with busybox as in nougat, but will continue to do my research on this. Maybe I'm missing something and the process is somehow different on pie.
One other thing, which is probably not device specific - is there hope for upper lockscreen shortcuts to be enabled on RR pie? I didn't see them in the RR settings, but maybe this feature is not included yet on pie. Were the upper lockscreen shortcuts (like the music and camera in the attached screenshot) included in RR oreo?

ATM Subs only works on rooted Pie and you have to reboot after building overlays and before you can apply them.
Thanks for your reply ... I'll definitely keep an eye on the whole Pie situation and will flash your RR as soon as the Subs team sorts and RR implements it :fingers-crossed:
Installed this rom yesterday everything works fine. Stock camera works fine ? on both front and back. Also tested on whatsapp video call not on Skype since I dont use it. Plus guys tell me what do you mean by gps hanging up I only use it for maps, Google Earth and street view works fine no error. ? charges to full and great battery life no issues detected yet. As followmsi said, this might be only my special problem
If you don't notice any issues - don't worry about it.
I installed this rom on my SM t585 yesterday.
Everything works except vibration. I tried installing LineageOS 16 before and I had the same problem. Vibration works perfectly when I boot into TWRP.
I installed after wiping all partitions of course. Does anyone have the same problem?

Yup Same here I was wondering why tablet doesn't vibrate during call or when I enabled vibration in keyboard. Not a major issue for me but still would be nice if it is fixed.?

So happy to know that I am not alone. For me it is really disturbing to type without feedback. I hope it will be fixed soon
