I am searching for the Star Ulefone U658 official rom
This one is from other device (mp), not alps
System files from this rom is read only so no possible to intsall busybox and correct root the phone
Antunu shows the device as mp856 with mtk6592 (octa) and resolution 1920x1024
If someone have this phone,I ll be greatfull to get a nandroid from his official rom

After test, it's already rooted, i can access to Android Recovery.
The problem is that the installed rom is a Chinese Android version.
i want to install the factory Android Lollipop, but i cant find any version for my phone.
CyanogenMod installation via recovery have a OTA error..
So with my specs, is that possible to run another rom, like the Official Android (5.1?) and how to do it?

I understand that i have to install a custom recovery, but now i have a new problem..
MTK Droid Tools says the hardware is fake in Kernel or Firmware rolleyes not corresponding to the phone..
How to format all the phone, i want the Android Official Firmware on it, how to do that please ?..

Hello, after two days working on the phone, i'm almost there.
First, this phone is faking his own components.
It's sold for a MTK6595, in fact it's a MTK6572. Same for Android, it's KitKat, not Lollipop. Not sure about the RAM (maybe 2Go). 1 virus app (AVG). Chinese stuff installed. I bought it 85$ from Ali (i understand now^^). The Camera is sh**, really! (but photo is not a prob for me).
Im not an experimented dev, the phone seems to be block somewhere, it's very hard to launch a custom recovery. I extracted the Stock ROM with MTK Droid Tools.
Finally, I install a custom recovery after a day of search, the Carvil Touchscreen and make it stable for the mPie. Now i want to install a Custom Rom on it, after replace the boot.img from Stock to Port, i have to modify the kernel, i will see..
If i managed a custom rom to get worked, i will post a tuto, if someones are interested

I found a original custom rom for this on needrom, but the phone still faking his hardware.. The kernel is fake and i don't know what to do now.
It's not a Mpie M15 (fake), it's a Mpie Mp S-168, on KK.

Specs are MT6737T, 6GB RAM, 129GB storage.
The one I found on needrom isn't working. The chipset doesn't match anyway. It's for MT6735, but I use AIDA64, it says it's MT6737T chipset.
In any case, SP Flash Tool doesn't allow me to download - Chipset mismatch error.
But when I use an MT6737T scatter file, it allows me to download.
I tried to download a ROM for another device and now the phone is bricked.
I can't find the official rom either as it's a chinese phone without an official website - brand MLLED.
Just need a working ROM to fire it back up.
If anyone knows of one, or knows where to download the official rom, would be most grateful!

Bought a Everest 8848 M4 phone from Tenaa , But like most china based android phone it didn't came with google playstore installed . Can i just install opengapps to it ? will flashing/update via stock recovery work ?or do i need a custom recovery to flash it.

Hi there,
Well your right most Chinese phones doesn't have GOOGLE PLAY STORE on their phones as it is banned or restricted, however you can try and install a custom version of android of that phones here is the link and try and search your device on that website see if your device is available. If its not then you can install playstore manually but I'm 50% right that this method will not work as I have tried numerous times. But you can still try it.

Hi there,
Since its a GENERIC TABLET made by an unknown Chinese manufacturer, it's impossible to get a firmware update. The best way is for you to create a custom version of android using LINEAGE OS, and also porting a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP. But even though you have successfully created the OS you might not be able to install it on your Chinese Tablet.

USE SPFLASH TOOL TO install the firmware since it is an MTK device.

Hi there,
Yeah Twrp is just a recovery software, and Lineage is just a custom ROM, so you can use it on a different tablet. But again you have to port those two software for it to work.
However you can research it on google to see how to port them on different phones or tablets.
