General About NewFlasher (XQ-BC72 TW/RU fw to XQ-BC72 HK) - Sony Xperia 1 III

Hi everybody. I bought a Xperia™ 1 III XQ-BC72 HK fw and I want to flash RU or TW fw for it. I did it with "New Flasher" but when flashing done phone doesn't open, infinite bootloop. I find an answer on Reddit from a helpful friend.
If you write " newflasher set_active:a " before flashing you will not get any error. I want to share with you. Thank you all...

I couldn't do this from the newflasher window.

What's the difference between them??

I have just done that; it still evokes that "untrusted software" message and never boots up. I always have to revert to the HK software it came with to get it to work again.
I have noticed that there is a difference between the version numbers of the firmware I am toying around with, despite both of them belonging to the BC72 group of devices.

Flash to EU fw?

Hi,
so I've just picked up my Galaxy S Vibrant, imported from the US. Since I am a Norwegian I would very much like to flash to the European firmware with Norwegian language support. However, samfirmware.com site says that one "should ask in the forums" if ones phone is from the US.
So, is it safe for me to follow the regular guides and flash the phone to EU fw? Also, not sure if it's related, when I try to check my fw version (*#1234#) I get the message "Unable to process request"?
Thanks in advance.

Well, Match the firm ware versions like this
KII-L22 /// C636 ///
& go to settings, there will be a cust or number starts with Dxxx
match these to any firmware from file depot thread from @clsA
flash the matched firmware via force update method mentioned in file depot thread
hope this helps... quote me or post if you need any further help.
cheers ^_^

I'm guessing you meant Bnd-l21c185b141 or Bnd-l21c185b144 ?
You could try one of this two methods:
1) try the 'Nougat Update to Oreo' part of this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7x/how-to/guide-honor-7x-flash-oreo-update-t3781649
with the BND-L21C185CUST185D1B330 available on FirmwareFinder.
or
2) Replace your nougat stock recovery with the 'BND-RECOVERY-NoCheck.img' from the previous link and then you can use FirmwareFinder's android apps to force update to BND-L21C185CUST185D1B330.
Both method will need you to have both bootloader and bootloader's FRP already unlocked.
Thanks for your help........But I was not able to do the methods you gave to install it.....But I got another one....and that one is to Get that software-
In firmware finder there is an option to get it by In-App proxy.so can I update it by that way?????
Coz after seeing videos and videos I understood it.....

You're describing my second method.
It won't work without replacing stock recovery with 'BND-RECOVERY-NoCheck.img' because the firmware you'll like to install is not 'Approved'.
Sry for disturbing you again and again....what will happen if I install the firmware which is not approved coz I'm not able to understand how to do it...
nothing will happens, firmware will be erased from phone and you will get an 'install failed'

So I'm waiting for the update

Where to find old firmware/How to backup firmware?

As I understand it, I don't need to unlock the bootloader in order to flash different official firmware versions to my phone. I'm leaving the bootloader locked until I really have a need to unlock it, because of the long-shot hope for a root exploit that will let me preserve my TA partition. As part of that, I really don't want to be stuck on a recent firmware version with all the old security holes patched. Therefore I want to get ahold of my current firmware or earlier before I flash anything. Somebody stop me here if I've misunderstood and anything I've said so far is impossible.
I have the dual-sim variant, G8342, running firmware 47.1.A.2.324.
Question 1: Is there a source somewhere of archived XZ1 firmware versions that includes 47.1.A.324 or earlier? I have searched the forum and google, but most xperia firmware backup sites have little or no files for the XZ1, and the couple of sources I've found are ancient with broken links. The post on these forums with stock firmware downloads only includes much newer versions.
Question 2: Is there a way I can extract a copy of my current firmware from my phone, without unlocking the bootloader? I find tutorials that work for "any xperia", but they're all quite old and talk about Sony PC Companion instead of Xperia Companion, and they all involve clicking "Your software is up to date"--and my software is not up to date, and updating it before backing it up would defeat the entire purpose of backing it up.
I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could clarify this for me so I can flash new firmware without losing the ability to go back.
Hi there, sorry i can't help you with your questions. I have one more question actually. are you sure i don't have to unlock bootloader if i flash official stock firmware??
Opposite to you, i'm stuck with a really old build from 2017. my phone is xz1 and its build version is 47.1.A.2.374. android security patch is from october 2017 and i desperately want to update the newest firmware yet i'm always told that my firmware is lastest.
sooo, am i able to flash it with the flashtool or newflasher?/
thank you

Seems highly unlikely that you haven't received an update since 2017 but then stranger things have happen.. New phone, carrier branded hmm..
Have you tried to update with Sony Companion, use the software update on the phone its self..
Oh and yes you can use the other methods you have mentioned..

thanks god i found a solution for this.
Repair my phone using xperia companion.
it's basically like flashing my phone and update my firmware to the latest firmware which is 47.1.A.16.20
Thanks God (or curious me )
either way, i found a way to update my phone without using flashtool. hope this will help someone in the future

Thanks a ton, lionelbac! For anyone else who comes across this thread, there's now also a download of 47.1.A.2.281_CE1 available in j4nn's magnificent TA partition backup thread, since that firmware is necessary for his exploit to work: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz1-compact/development/devonly-exploits-temp-root-to-backup-t3795510
