OK, the led can do orange, red and green right? Any ideas about how to make it flash red or orange on certain events (like, say, red fer sms, orange for missed call etc...)? There MUST be a reg-key somewhere for that...
I meant the little indicator LED on the top right of the device, by the way, not the actual screen, could have sounded like that... Also a way of changing the frequency of the flashes would be quite cool as well...

Is it possible to make the green led light blink faster if there's a missed call or a message? 'Cause it sucks to have to turn the phone on to see if there's any missed call.
cant you make the green light red like you can when you get a sms ?
Excellent

Spot on Bro.
Start - Settings - Sounds & Notifications - Notifications
Select an event - Check Flash light for - Pick your duration you want the Red light to blink.
cant recall if that also works for xda1's though
Just discovered that with GoSMS Pro you can change the color of the LED for notifications...didn't know Atrix had multicolor LED other than standard red green yellow...I got blue...haven't tried any other colors yet but Im sure they work

Is it only for that app or can you get the colors changed for regular notifications?
I was going to try the app I used for my old n1 to change the led notification settings...ill report back
Edit: Confirmed Light Flow works...limited color changes...blue and orange tested going to test more

I currently use Red/Green/Orange/Blue/Purple. When using Light Flow when it tries to do some of the colors, it comes out looking like a rainbow...so I guess that counts as another color?
Yeah same here I got purple, white, pink, red, blue working

I haven't tested/compared with Light Flow, but blink is another option and is what I use. Allows you to select color and frequency of flashing for a few things... I think you can choose for email, text, battery and missed call settings. I'll take a look at Light Flow later, when I get a chance.

Did white actually look white for you?
On mine, white looked like a rainbow color.

I use Blink. Lot's of different options based on everythign from missed calls, voicemail to SMS and MMS notifications.
The LED displays a ton of different colors. I use purple, blue, green, yellow and red.

got a copy?
Lets say that I have my LED notification setup to flash red for a missed called, and green for a missed text. Will it flash both colors? Or only the one that happens first? Has anybody tested this? If not can anybody with the phone test this?

Im using light flow app and it will turn blue when there is no signal, orange when set below certain percentage for battery as low bat, red for missed call, green for fully charged, white for charging, yellow for missed sms and purple for something i forgot. Yet it will flash multi colors if triggered.
QUESTION ANSWERED....thanks for replying
Hi there,
Has any of you have any luck changing the color (and/or blinking behavior) of the notification led (e.g. when an sms is received)?
On my CM7'ed Desire I had full control - e.g. from Go SMS - but with this Desire X I'm stuck with the default green blinking.
I just rooted and flashed Elegancia on today, hoping that would put me (or the apps, actually) in control, but no...
BR,
Egholm
I believe there are apps that will let you change your LED on your phone.

Only two colors on Desire X if I remember correctly.
Why would you want to change the colour. Maybe i am missing something .:cyclops:Green seems ok and orange when charging is also ok.
hi
Missed call or SMS -LED flashes only 5min.This is the problem.
ORA1: It's annoying that when I leave the phone at home, and a notification-event occurs that I don't hear, I cannot see from the LED which event happened (remember I didn't hear, I just glance at the phone every and so often when I pass it). Then it's super nice to be able to see if it is a missed call, an SMS, an email, and so and so forth.
Also, the standard blinking behavior - blinking briefly every 1-1.5 seconds - is silly. It requires starring at the phone for a second to judge if an event is there. A constant LED is much nicer.
That's why
Klapo, yeah, but mixing the red with the green, you get an orange So, three colors, and if I could control the blinking, that's infinite combinations ;P
Obj261, after trying different apps, I stumbled over "Light Flow 3.5.2 (lite)". Its the only one that I've seen being able to control the LED succesfully. But obviously I'm too stupid to make it work (consistently) beyond the "testing capabilities" from within the app
I hoped that others have had this need, as well :/
I would just want to know if it's RGB or just green/orange.
I would love to control it via LightFlow but the hardware must support it first.
katman4, it's only green, orange and red.
(But still I haven't found the magic setting in lightflow that makes it work consistently, so be aware of that)
Now someone can design an app that when you have a notification of any sort the whole screen flashes in a colour.
Cant be too difficult for one of the boffins to design:good::good::good::good::victory::victory:
I made sure that the notification light is enabled, but for some reason i dont see any indication that i missed a call - maybe it has something todo that i use a non standard dialer app by default ?

Hi, I am also facing an issue of the same kind. I cannot see any other color of the LED except for red when the battery is low. After charging is completed, the green LED should be lit, but there is actually a very dim orange light that is noticed only in the dark. The same for the calls or other notifications. I don't even remember if going to recovery or fastboot mode will trigger the blue LED but nothing is displayed anyhow.
Does somebody have any idea how to restore the LED to "normal"? This has happened after I installed the X829 rom on my X820. Since that time, looks like no other color is present except red.
Any advice is welcome.
