SOLD! I will be getting this day one! I was waiting to hear what the SIII is bringing to the table, but there is no way it will match MY desired features closer than the EVO 4G LTE. I really have no complaints from anything I've seen in these official announcements. ANd judging from the ONEx reviews I can't see there being anything that is going to change my mind in the coming weeks! Come on June! I'm excited like a kid waiting for Christmas!

"Actiontec today showed off at CES 2013 its first wireless display kit called ScreenBeam. This is a Miracast-certified kit that allows for displaying a mobile device's screen on to the big screen TV.
"Actiontec say ScreenBeam is one of the the first devices approved by the Wi-Fi Alliance for their Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast program. This ensure that it's compatible with other MiraCast-enabled devices.
"Actiontec offers ScreenBeam as both a stand-alone wireless display adapter and as a kit. A stand-alone adapters works with existing Miracast-certified devices including laptops, smartphones, tablets, and devices running Android or WiDi 3.5 and higher. The kit also comes with an USB transmitter that adds MiraCast to any existing Windows 7 & 8 PCs.
"Other that that, the ScreenBeam is HDMI-certified, offer 1080P HD video and audio. The device has the range of 50 feet and doesn't require line-of-sight to work.
"The new MiraCast ScreenBeam from Actiontec is available now with the kit costing some $80."

I assume you mean by way of the USB adaptor that's part of the full kit? I doubt something that specific will work over OTG.

I assume N10 has the wifi hardware, and need only custom ROM to add in Mira, now that there is a certified TV end-point to test against. The USB wifi would be more for tabs like N7 w/o 5GHz wifi, which would need custom ROM/kernel for both Mira and USB wifi (dongle) support--and of course for Win boxes w/o WiDi. It'll be interesting to see how low-end laptops (read: that can't do real-time H.264 encoding) work with this unit.
Curious that N10 has no Mira, since it has the necessary wifi, and that it came out at same time as N4 which has Mira. I'm guessing N10's high res is a complication, since Mira's supported display resolution only goes up to 1920x1200 per its white paper.
http://www.wi-fi.org/register.php?file=wp_Miracast_Industry_20120919.pdf
Anyway, N10 has enough dev support here that we should find out one way or the other.
Edit: The few N4-Miracast vids I've seen have latency between 0.5 and 1s. But in the Anandtech Nvidia Shield hands-on, which does the same thing by piping PC video output to TV via Shield, lag was negligible. Shield requires a GTX 650/660M on the PC side, so may be that's the difference. With N10's res being 4x of N4, I think both lag and frame rate will be an issue, assuming that Mira works.

Must say with the stock rom the battery is real bad 30 min of screen with browsing and settings is 20% battery. Standby seams ok but when working the battery will last only 2-3 hours.
So if there is a bigger battery pack or a better ROM let me know. Phone is nice but not worth the money.
Grtz,
Rob
Hi, got it last week, wrote a review which you can find on http://chinese-smartphones.com/iocean-x1-review-great-sub-120-phone/

Unboxing and review on the second post.

Unboxing
Beelink was ever so kind to send me a test version. Shipping was pretty quick (4 dias to Portugal!!!). The packaging could have been better, that would have prevented some damages to the box. Luckily it was just the box. Still... an aspect to consider.
The outside box is pretty simple, but it suits the purpose. One must take in account that they have to sacrifice some things in order to keep their products at low price for the quality you get. The box is still pretty elegant though.
(some box damage due to poor packaging)

This is one of the first boxes to reach the market with the all-new AmLogic S912 processor, which boosts not only the processing. Comparing to the S905X, for instance, video encoding is done with H.265 (instead of H.264) at 60FPS. That's only one of the advantages. Check out the image below for better comparison.
First boot with it was pretty good. It didn't take more than 20 seconds. Boot animation is far from being a masterpiece, but that doesn't matter much. What matters is that it does exactly what it sets out to do, in a pretty decent manner btw.
This is one of the first boxes in the market to play 4K contents "out-of-the-box" in both Dolby Vision and HDR10.
Later this week I will be updating this post with some screenshots and video review.
Beelink GT1 Review
It will be a great box, waiting for test review.
Anyone know where to get Android 9.0 firmware for gt1_313M0 ? Is Android 6.0.1 really the final version of Android for this?!?!

After the fiasco of software problems with the Axon 7 I don't think I would spend a significant sum on one of their phones again.

Yeah that was quite the nightmare, especially with the ban and having a not good last update. Glad GSI's are doing the trick, but I think ZTE should work on their updates a little better.

I hope they survive the Trump administration fiasco of trade wars because their phones are very good.
I got my wife a new Mate 20 recently, as long as it's modern she won't care if it's on Android 10 or 11. She wouldn't have a clue and it will get 10 at least.
I don't care about the bootloader as modern Android is great as long as the OEM doesn't make it with too many bugs (looking crossly at ZTE).
My Axon 7 and Axon 7 Mini are both stock and it doesn't bother me from a feature point of view.
Rooting and modding them was all in the past because the OS was so fragmented and basic. Now it's just not a concern for me.
I'd have a new Huawei right now if needed. The new models coming out from now on are where the problem is, not the pre-existing ones.
