Any way to VGA-out? - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Hello:
Is there anyway to VGA-out (making presentations on a projector, connecting to a monitor) from an XDA? Thanks in advance,
Fernando

I wonder if Microsoft's Remote Display utility will do the job for you. You can control your XDA from your PC.
Here is a quote from the site:
Remote Display Control for Pocket PC
With the Remote Display Control application, you can display actions on a Pocket PC, including user input, remotely on the display of a desktop or laptop personal computer. This is a great tool for demonstrating the power of the Pocket PC to a large audience. It also allows developers to test their applications for the Pocket PC on a larger screen.
Remote Display Control uses TCP/IP, and it can work with ActiveSync® connections via Ethernet or dial-up.

VGA out for XDA
hi.
i wanted to do this - Just searching with Google, I found 2 hardware suppliers (sorry, can't remember the names now!), but the problem is, they support Pocket PC 2002 / 2003 PDA's, but don't support the XDA. So if you have a HP or Sony PDA you can do it, but not for the XDA
If anyone finds a solution however, i'd like to know about it!

I use Soti Pocket Controller Plus. Check it out at Soti.com
Works great for me.
Like the previous post Soti Pocket Control Pro 6.0 is great. You can also do Regedits.
If you are talking about connecting it via USB and you want to control the screen as you would normally, there is a program I use called "My Mobile" (MyMobiler). I really like it.
i use a program called my mobiler. you can use mouse and keyboard input, record pics and videos of what you are doing on your phone from your desktop, and have full acces to your device via your computer. just do a google search and you should be able to find it

Just installed My Mobiler. Great software. And very useful.

Getting Screen on PC desktop

Hi. I need to show the phone interface on the projector for my graduation presentation. I've searched for tv-out capabilities of Htc Hero but I have found nothing. Then I see that we can grab screenshots from DDMS. So my question is, is it possible to get more screenshots to display it like a video on the PC?

Thank you so so much, that was what I needed.
there are also vncservers for android available, so far i didn't succed with supporting mouse input. keyboard works with my modified kernel, thread in this section (search for kkernel).
But are they for PC to Handset or Handset to PC control?
you see (and ideally control) the screen of your phone on the pc. it is the SERVER part for android, the server is always the pc that is remote controlled (when speaking of vnc, but mostly also in general). i find it a comfortable way of making screenshots, you just open the vncviewer and then use your favorite screenshot tool for [windows/linux/mac/zeta], set it to skip the window frames and you'r good to go...

[Q] Remote Desktop, MHL HDMI and Bluetooth keyboard

Hi All,
My dream, one that I hope Android can help me fulfill is to hook my Galaxy S2 to a HDMI tv, fire up remote desktop and by using a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, effectively have a full desktop available.
I am yet to try hooking up my phone to a tv as I am waiting for the MHL cable, but issues I envisage are the following:
1) When the screen is mirrored on the TV, the RDP program will not use the TVs display show 'full screen'. I have installed some RDP applications and they allow you to select the resolution so perhaps this will resolve the issue
2) Are there any RDP applications that allow bluetooth keyboard and mouse entry?
This is the hold grail for me!! Many a time I have stayed in a hotel for work or holiday and not had my laptop with me and wished for such a solution. Combine this with Wake On Lan and it's perfect!
I hope someone can help!
I can't believe i'm the only one that wants something like this to work!
RDP programs should just take any inputs from your phone and pass them onto the remote machine so BT kb/m should work ok IMO. Not sure about the mirroring but if it is fullscreen on the phone then maybe the MHL cable will upscale for the TV.

I'm waiting for the cable before I can try. In fact I would have had it by now but my girlfriend wants to buy some stuff for me for my bday and I believe she's already ordered it!
I should get mine tomorrow and I'll try it out.
Thanks! I'll check back on thread!
I've been doing some reading around and have found that BT keyboards and a mouse will work no problem.
I tried my MHL cable with the Android VNC viewer app and allows you to fit to screen but does not output at the tv's native res.
I have had similar experience with Remote RDP, it just mirrors the phone's native resolution. Hopefully this kind of thing will be supported soon, including internet browsing at 1080p.
Thanks guys, that sux!
I still haven't received my cable so I can't try for myself, but have you managed to make it work to a workable output on the TV?
would be interesting if we could port some parts from the atrix (webtop) over to this phone. I actually enjoyed that feature.

Perhaps, this kind of program may help to format the resolution?
Am I missing something? If you got a bt keyboard and bt mouse and the phone to tv hdmi, don't you have it all? Why would you need a remote desktop or vnc software?
Well, you'd have it all except for USB, which you might be able to live without.

If it could pump out the full Remote Desktop resolution then you will effectively have a full desktop through your phone rather than just have the phone's software capability.
Fair enough you can surf the web and play a video but what if I want to use full excel or Word, and multi-task like on a desktop.
I've still not received my cable so I don't know whether the browsing the net with the phone's browser is legible on a big screen.
In my earlier post I complete missed off the applications name - LCD Density - haven't tried and I don't know if it's compatible with the SGSII, but sounds like it changes the native resolution of the phone.
Try Splashtop as your vnc app it is the only one to my knowledge that can stream audio almost perfect and video pretty good over vnc and works like a charm on the atrix.
Did you find a good BT keyboard that works well with the Evo? I'd prefer one with a built in trackpad, as my goal is to use this on the road (ie, airports, trains, etc), and would like to have an all-in-one keyboard/mouse.
The one thing that I haven't had time to tinker with have been HDMI goggles that can give a virtual display. Has anyone tried these w/ the Evo's mini-HDMI output?

Remote control smartphone from another smartphone

I have found tons of apps that let you remote control your phone from your WinBlows computer and some that do the reverse; however, I haven't found any apps that will remote control a smartphone from another smartphone. I would assume rooting would be required on the phone being remote controlled (running daemon) but the client side wouldn't need to be rooted. I use all three of our smartphones to watch video content on our large household TVs and remote controlling these from another smartphone would be handy (don't want to boot a PC to perform the remote control funtion)
Any pointers to an app (if one exists) would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Ron
yep it's hard to find but this app should do the job :
i am a noob user of xda so i can't post links but you can find an app called "VNC server" on the playstore
it's a vnc server ... i didn't find better one

[Q] app for remote desktop mk809III

Hi guys, my 1st post here.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend an app / method for me to remote desktop to my step dads mk809III from a pc.
He lives 2 hour drive away , and i was looking to set some things up for him on his mini pc.
I have seen plenty of ways to remote control a pc from an android device, but nothing so far that works other way around.
Team viewer quick support sounded promising but does not support non samsung android so it seems(correct me if wrong)
Cheers RP
