After the upgrade to WM2003 4.00.11 ENG, the signal is low or missing.
It is a Danish Qtek 1010. I haven´t upgraded the radio ver, it is 3.23.01, and i don´t know if there are any new radio ver. for my device.
I have seen in other threads, that other people have the same problems.
Pleeeze, can anybody help ??
I've found that the signal meter reads MUCH lower with 4.x, but my actual phone call quality is better than it used to be. Are you having call problems? The meter is not very useful since the calibration has no specific rules. It varies across different phones and different versions of the software.
Yes, the calls are dropping out, and sometimes i am not able to make a call. I had a T68 and after that a P800, both had no signal problems where i am.

I'm the (un)happy owner of a HTC TYTN (u know the QTEK 9600 or moreover SPV 3100 from Orange) with an Orange contract.
It was a nightmare to configure the wap and mms settings. Anyway, it seems there is another problem, more serious than the settings: I've got a lot of network(s) issues. Either in GPRS or UMTS mode, I have a very bad signal strengh (compared side by side with my previous Nokia 6680), let say not far from half of the signal on the TyTN. The other problem is that I often have some disconnections and I thought it was when the phone tries to switch from GPRS band to UMTS one. Indeed, it's very strange, either I'm in standby (no move at all) or on movement, swithing appears and of course the data connexion is interrupted.
Well all that said, my question is quite simple: do you think an upgrade and certainly more a Radio (if it's supposed to provide a better "radio" power) ROM may get my life better?
Should someone from Orange (customer of course) with the same model help me by extracting an Orange ROM?
Kind regards for your help, I'm still totally angry at brands like HTC releasing some un-finished products without any decent support!

I think that 1.47.00.10 is the best yet.
All roms above disconnects me when driving around in car..
Same problem for me.
I've tried every radio from 1.51 and worked my way downwards. I'm currently trying 1.35.0.11.
The problem with dropped calls during driving disappeared, but now i get dropped calls when standing still instead. If I do a soft reset, the phone works normally for some time before it starts dropping calls again.

Each radio is calibrated for the network it was designed for. So, I would first test the radios that were made for the 3 network in Sweden as they will most likely produced the best results; all other radios would produce mixed/subjective results.
And how do I know which radios that are made for 3;s network in Sweden ?
I've tried the radio version that I found in one of the instructions on 3's support-page (1.38.00.10)

That didn't work any better than the rest I've tested.
1.35.0.11 worked like a charm for some days, with minor bugs, until just recently when the phone began dropping calls again..
I will try with 1.47.30.10 later today.
1.47.30.10 worked in the same way as the other "newer" radios did:
Not moving = Good!
Moving = Dropped calls. You CAN NOT be in a moving vehicle since roaming between your operators antennas or changing from 3G to GSM disconnects the call immediately.
The "older" radios works fine for a random timelimit, then a soft reset is needed. Roaming doesn't seem to disconnect calls.
Would it help if i changed ROM / ExtROM?

Hi, my G4 was originally from spain Vodafone, it was SIM unlocked, I believe with lokywiz, it accept any SIM but the GRPS signal is very low, some times it give me the "No Service" message, sometimes it keeps searching for an anthena.
I upgraded the spanish ROM to Touch Xb by Gullum, without problem, and radio to 2.19.21, but no avail
One thing is that the product number is 99HBE086-00 A
Compared with my original Qtek S200 G3 wicht is 99HBE043-00 T01
Both machinnes had the same OS ROM and same Radio ROM, however G3 signal is very good, 1 bar less than a regular Motorola, while the G4 is looking for signal almost all the time.
I used to have a T-Mobile Wallaby, with a very similar problem.

It was a hardware problem, one circuit track that connect the anntena was loose, also the internal battery was dead (and a little bit rusty), and the speaker was cover with some cotton or something, otherwise it didn't work, similar cutted cikuit track in the speaker.
I fixed all those problems, my G4 now performs just like my G3.
I know the title is somewhat weird,but that explains my problem.There is something fishy with radio rom of my hermes,and i cant figure it out.First of all i can flash radio roms and shipped roms as well.(Now i am using imate wm5 shipped rom).The problem is that my hermes runs fine in full reception area but whenever i am low on signals,i cant make calls i cant receive them.I cant perform any phone action(no call,no sms,no gprs) and if i reset the device at this instant,it keeps on searching for signals infinitely unless i enter an area with full reception.
I am sort of handicapped.I have tried different flavours of radio roms including all the latest ones.
1.41, 1.43 , 1.50 ,1.47 ,1.54 and i am currently on 1.38.30
Do you think it is a hardware issue instead of a software one?

lemme get this straight........you are wondering why you cant make calls, cant receive calls, can sms etc when there is no signal?

I have very poor signal but only with one specific GSM Service - Play ( I'm not sure that you know about their exist
if I change my SIM to other there is no problem - very strong signal
i've already tried more of the Radio Roms for Niki and I don't know what to do
