Will the java works on O2 XDA pocket pc2002?
Thank you in advance.
Hi,
I think so. SuperWaba runs on my MDA (Pocket PC from HTC).

Quest
Can someone tell me how you actually use
superwaba on your XDA?
I have successfully installed the version 3.5
but how do I run an application associated
with superwaba? Sorry I sounds dumb. I
just got my O2xda and am trying to download
a java vm so that I can go into the website that
uses java etc. I know emertec Joede got a java
vm for pocket pc2002 which do not have trial and
I am not sure if I would get refund if their java vm
do not fit into the website that I am trying to go into.
Appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.
:?
Hi,
I think you should read SuperWaba.pdf in the doc-directory of the SupreWaba installation on your desktop-PC.
Franz
Hi all,
have a look at

quest
I still find it hard to understand and use superwaba on
my o2 xda.(I am new in java etc...)
Anyway I got a Joede VM on my O2 xda now,
thanks to your forum and the sharing of problems
and fixes etc.
And nowadays you can even get Sun Java FX on Windows Mobile
http://www.sun.com/software/javafx/mobile/index.jsp
JavaFX isn't exactly Java (use JVM only) and it needs 64 MB of RAM
JavaFX is indeed different from the "Java" we know before but it's something built above the original Java that *enhances* the old Java platform.
On Windows Mobile, the link NoonSki provided can lead you to a cab file that you can try on you WM phones with J2ME + JavaFX Mobile.
I tried and it works pretty well on my Touch Pro 2 running OperaMini, Snaptu...
Have a try
PhoneMe
Well, for Windows Mobile 2003 PhoneMe worked great for me. I cannot post links but you can google it (use "phoneme davy" in Google).
Fully open source and free implementation of JavaME (misses 3D, though). A bit difficult to install, but works for normal apps. Should also work on Pocket PC 2002 and WinMo 5+.
I'm looking for an upgrade for my java, I am trying to play an online game and all is get is a gray box. I have tried it with opera and skyfire, with no luck. Any Suggestions??? (the site requires java 1.5 or 1.6 to use)
Thanks I tried reading through the threads but could not find anything.
Bump Please
Hello there, im a new HD2 user, and happy with it for now. Thanks to this forum I found loads of tips/tricks/appz to customize it or optimize it.
Only thing left, I tried to install Google Gmail (java app). The application installs correctly, and the WM asks me if I want to launch the app, I tap "OK", and then the Java engine starts, and just seems to hang (waited a LONG time) while loading.
If I launch the Java icon (under tools), I find that Gmail application, and the problem remains. Perhaps it is due to the fact that I have only internet from WiFi at the moment, but I managed to tell Java to use the WiFi instead of 3G, but no changes... (I was forced to allow Outlook to use the WiFi instead of 3G)
Should I find a way to uninstall Java to reinstall a recent release ? Any links / clues ?
Tx !

Perhaps something to modify in this app :'(

Yes. It is on every single Android device ever produced.
Java is the language used to write Android Apps.
see http://developer.android.com/index.html
and to quickly see the use of java see the tutorials at http://mobile.tutsplus.com/tutorials/android/learn-java/
Then why can't my browser run java scripts? Is it the browser I'm using (Boat)?
I ask because there is a web page I use at work that requires the IE Java plug-in but it will not run in my tablet. I do realize it may be a security thing on our network but the page loads and it allows me to log in (it always makes you log in on this web page). It renders some of the page but not all of it. It may not be a Java problem at all it's just behaves like IE does when the Java plug-in is not the latest version.
Thanks
Edit - I'm reading up on this as I am not a programmer but would like to know more about Android. Maybe someday an Android noob like me will know something.

What's the URL. I suspect it's not exactly the Java plug in. JavaScript (which is completely different from Java) works fine Boat and all other browsers.

That makes sense. Its an internal company URL. My company laptop died today and I'm using my Prime for work . It works great for email etc. Only this is not working. I'd ask my IT guys but they'll just brush me off since they don't support anything that is not authorized by them.

Maybe your work laptop has security certificates installed on it.

When Internet Explorer and other desktop browsers use the Java plugin, they are using the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) provided by Oracle. The JRE is also known as the Java Virtual Machine. Android devices do not have the Oracle Java runtime. While most Android apps are written in Java, they are based on the Dalvik Virtual Machine, which is a mobile-specialized Java platform that runs Android apps, but not the web-based applets that are designed for desktop browsers. Due to Oracle's lawsuit against Google for allegedly using Java code without permission, it is unfortunately quite unlikely to see the JRE running on Android devices anytime soon. Besides, most of the web is slowly getting away from Java and Flash, and transitioning to HTML5.
So in short, Android does have Java, but just not the kind you're looking for in this particular case.
So is there a way to use it?
I tried to upload a bunch of pics to FB using the standard web page and it wouldn't pop up a window to access the file system.
I like the tablet/dock netbook concept a lot, but it's annoying to still need my laptop when trying to upload a bunch of pics.
Hi All,
I am totally new in XDA forum and Android app development. So I hope I am in the right place now
I want to take screenshots of my Android smartphone screen(not only screenshot of my app but whole screen) locally in background (without a second smartphone, PC , Wifi or USB connection) in my application via Python,
but unfortunately I could not find a proper way to do it. I tried and researched following methods but none of them is the right way in my case:
Android Screen Buffer: I guess this is used for screenshot, but I could not achieve to install it. I get following error:
The conflict is caused by: ash 0.3, 0.2 and 0.1 depends on opencv-python==4.1.2.30
but this version does not support any arm base platform. So I cannot install it. Moreover it has also dependencies with ADB tool,
so it looks like wifi or serial connection required.
ADB(Android Debug Bridge Tool): It requires either USB Cable or Wifi connection. The problem is that I do not want that my app users
requires necessary the same Wifi connection(I know internet connection not required but they need to be somewhere around a modem) to be able to use my app.
LADB: This requires also USB Cable or Wifi connection
scrcpy: It has also ADB dependencies. I get no devices/emulators found if I do not start any server from a PC.
Note: is it possible to do it via an other programming language and if it is so, then which language and library would you recommend? I found some examples via Java but all of them were capturing the window within the application not whole smartphone screen, I want to implement an app which works as a service in background.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Environment: Android 11
Prog Language: Python 3.7
Smartphone:Samsung Galaxy A8

Hi, thanks a lot for your fast response. Actually a second language was the worst case for me. My app is already implemented in a cross platform via Python for MacOS and Windows, so unfortunately it will be really painful to implement everything via Java again. Moreover I just want to take screenshot instead of screen recording. But if none can give me a better solution, maybe i can try to integrate your java app into my python code(maybe intentservice), so my code can start/stop the screen cap code and the rest of implementation i can keep in python
