Error message - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

I have downloaded the quick SIM unlock program, but when I tried to transfer it via ActiveSync Explore (which I think was the instruction) I got an error message saying that it is "not a valid Win 32 application". Does anyone know what I need to do or what I am doing wrong? I have only just got my xda, so please forgive me if I have missed something obvious! Thanks a lot.

simlock
simunlock will only work with later roms.....if the program is not packed with an windows installer, u need to manually move the prog using windows explorer, to ur mobile device, which should show up in explorer. just copy and paste...then using ur xda file explorer, run the program...hope this helps

Something Easier than ADB

There is something for windows that is way easier ABD, all I know this is only for Windows. Mac users you'll have to download Crossover (http://crossover-mac.en.softonic.com/mac) first then download Droid Explorer
Here's are the features of Droid Explorer
1. Multiple Device Support, Copy and auto-apply update.zip, Copy local files to device
2. Auto detection of connected/disconnected device
3. APK file icon and extended information, Device command shell window
4. Reboot device, Reboot device in to recovery mode, Flash Recovery Image
5. Open files for viewing / execution locally with the default file type executable, Drag & Drop file copy from Explorer
6. Package Manager (Install & Uninstall), No need to mount SD card to access files from computer
7. Access files in other directories besides SD card
8. Display open with dialog to specify what to open a file with
9. Right click APK and Install /Uninstall, Delete files from device
10. Take a Screen Shot, Plugins can register as a component to open files, Open from within Computer

Download Droid Explorer to Manage Google Android Phone on Windows.
Just installed it on my laptop with XP SP3 and it just crashes whenever I try to run it......
Edit:
Just downloaded Droid Explorer 0.8.4.3 Beta and that version loads at least.

Forgive me if I misunderstood your intent with that statement, but...
That kind of elitist attitude will only ensure the ultimate demise of what you love. THE community.
You were a n00b once.
Too many noobs in my mind means too many people who don't know what they are doing, or more importantly WHY they are doing it.
While I am relatively new to the android scene, I am certainly not new to *nix, and so I think it is important to understand what you are doing when you customize what is essentially a linux computer with a Java-Based applications platform, and GUI.
It is important to READ before you just go foraging ahead, and this tool makes it much easier for someone who doesn't know what they are doing to do something wrong.
@windows user:
it is using microsoft net framework, so you must install one (download free from microsoft.com) to run application.
@author:
I think this is good idea for whom doesnt how to use adb, or hasnt got enough time to understand adb tool.
Please make it better.
Thanks
Has anyone had an error message:
"Droid Explorer has stopped working
Windows is checking for a solution to this problem..."
I have Windows 7 Home premium x64 with microsoft .NET 4.0 framework. I tried the x64 and x86 versions, get the same error message with both.
Edit: I installed the beta 0.8.7.2 and it seems to be working fine so far.
Edit Edit: I am having a hell of a time getting it to recognize my phone. I'm using a Windows 7 x64 box, Motorola Droid, I have busybox installed, my drivers are all up to date, .NET 4.0 framework, USB Debugging ticked. Is there anything else I have overlooked?

How can i read the HD2 windows folder on my pc?

How can i read the HD2 windows folder on my pc?
Edit..
There has to be a way im just missing something simple.. trying to learn a new scripting language (well new to me lua) and it would be nice to be able to edit it in dreamweaver and check to see the edits in windows before i launched it.
it's a view thing
don't know which version of windows you're running, but go to folder and search options (or folder options), then on the view tab, push the radio button to view hidden files and folders, then click apply.
vista.. so should i be opening it in disk mode or active sync?
im trying it in disk mode noe but its still showing an empty folder.. this has to be some simple ass **** im just overlooking
i changed all my permissions to show extensions , protected system files and hidden files.. and still cant see anything in the hd2 windows folder/
ok got it..
control panel.. customize... hidden files.. allow hidden filles/ extensions/ protected files to be shown..
then un plug and re plug phone back in as active sync and there they are
Thanks!
just for info disk mode only allows access to the sd card.
in my experience the windows folder takes so long to open through the pc explorer that i
create the file on the pc,
copy to the sd card
use phone file man to copy into windows
test it, if more work needed edit the copy already on the pc, and copy that to sd then phone file man again to copy over the one in windows.
a bit awkward, but still quicker than the two minutes it can take to open when you try to open the windows folder from the pc.
Im probably missing something really small here..
Running Windows 7 Pro x64 (desktop)
I have unticked the "Hide Protected Operating System Files" in Windows Explorer and can see the Windows folder on the HD2
...... BUT.......
When I click onto it, Windows Explorer just sits there loading, and loading... and just sit there loading. Nothing comes up.
I have even left it for over 10 minutes and it still sits there loading. When I try to close Explorer, it tells me the program has stopped responding and crashes.
Any ideas ?

I've got Win7 x64 as well. Loading the Windows directory on the HD2 is really slow - maybe 2 minutes? - but it does load. Not too sure what your problem is; perhaps antivirus is interfering?

Note 2 Bootloader Unlock

Hi everyone, I am trying to unlock my bootloader on my Galaxy Note 2 following the guide listed on here but I am having issues when trying to open the jar file to perform the exploit. When I attempt to open the .jar file with Java Runtime Environment it errors right away saying Error: Invalid or Corrupt jarfile and this happens both on a Windows XP machine I have and Windows 7 64-bit machine. I have tried turning off antivirus and firewalls to turn all security off but still get the same error. I have downloaded the file multiple times with no luck. I tried searching but can't find anyone that has run into this error before. Has anyone ever seen this or can point me in the right direction so I can get my bootloader unlocked? Thanks
Did u extract the file?
Even if I try to extract the files I get an error that comes up saying that the file is corrupted? I've downloaded it multiple times so have a hard time believing its corrupted unless the file on the server is having issues?
I used the first method to 'jailbreak'/Unlock bc I hadn't installed the OTA. I had a problem with the SuckITVerizon file, I extracted and tried to load it into Odin but kept saying 'invalid' until I just loaded the RAR file then worked like a charm.
I know my problem was diff but maybe if could help somehow? I would try to update your Java then download the file from a different computer and transfer it over. If nothing else works then try the whole process on another computer.
Have you posted the problem in the unlock thread you are using?
GL
I've seen this problem on a lot of threads. Also experienced it as well. Tried to run Casual on both a 64 bit Win8 and 64 bit Win7 machines. Went to my 32 bit Win7 laptop and had no problem. So you may want to try that.

If you are using 64 bit OS make sure you have the 64 bit Java installed and not the 32 bit version

I'm also a damn failure at unlocking, but from what i've picked up in all the things i've read, XP won't work.. You need 7,8, or MAC from the sound of it.
