I used to own a SE p800 and was totally addicted to the solitaire game that was preinstalled...the XDA2 has a standard solitaire game which i am not too keen on, is there anyone who has played the p800 version (or knows what the heck i am talking about) maybe you could tell me if there is a version for the XDA out there somewhere...or what the name of that particular solitaire version is?

freecell is known also from std windows have is in many ways like sol
if it's not then maybe you could explane what the difference is between p800 sol and xdaX sol

Firstly as this is my first post I just wanted to say I have found this site to be a wealth of information and full of great team work and support all round. congrats. The XDA support people in Asia could learn a thing or two from you all.
Now for my question - Is it possible to play nokia java games on the O2 XDA? I thought a JVM would do the trick but I am not sure which one if any would do that job. I understand the O2 XDA II plays mobile phone java games - if so - what do they use and could we use the same method?

The XDAII also doesn't have a JVM. One was promised by O2 at the device launch, but I seriously doubt if they'll ever get around to incorporating it.
There are many more important things that need sorting out anyway (a decent bluetooth stack, reliable alarms, SMS + sign bug, etc).
Java mobile games are generally pretty trivial, especially compared to some of the quality native PocketPC games.
If you're after a vast library of high quality games, I'd suggest trying out emulation - gnuboy and PocketNes work perfectly, and there are some genuinely fantastic games out there for these platforms. PocketScumm is also worth trying, you can buy the Lucasarts adventures quite cheaply nowadays: most of them are absoute classics.

The sun VM is trully dreadful, at least on WM2003 - it was designed for WCE2.11. If you really want a JVM, Jeode is probably the best supported, but it's expensive; and I'm not sure about its compatibility with Nokia games.
As for compiling Nokia games .. you have the source?

I was playing on my mates Samsung Camera phone and he was bosting about it, whipped out my XDA lol that shut him up, the other day I relised they were java games when i saw Sun Microtech logo pop up, PPC games owns anything java could do

Andy Clap - I'm just trying to play ready for nokia java games. It sounds like there isn't a way to do it really.
It seems accurate though that there games are simple but they have so many nice looking free games at their disposal - unless anyone knows of any links i could check out for games

if i were in your shues i would try messing with a few of the java wm's i url'd to and see if it'll work
you could also try messing with getting them to run on a pc first just to see if it'll work on anything which is not nokia at all

Aspyr released a Call of Duty 2 PPC title.... Later in an update to the core; They released a multiplayer component and accompanying dedicated server app that you could toss on a server and hide. Then anyone with the PPC client could of course connect to it. From anywhere they had Wifi or what have you... Cool!
I ran it on my Vista 64 machine as a service... and on xp32 just to test about a year ago.
Connected to it flawlessy from a hotspot...
Problem is.. It is old and blocky looking and nobody plays it.
Was a problem Zooming and autofiring in single player and multi on my Axim X51v - felt like a bug. They never supported it past the one update.
They (aspyr) have that Great Tony Hawk PS2 for PPC though!
Does anyone remember if the Quake 3 Arena PPC port had online mulitplayer? If so.... There ya have it!

The java version doesn't take advantage of the accelerometer but can be controlled by touch. It's still a nice game
Groovy jump is also nice.

Guys i found a doodle jump without g-sensor i think. i tried a lot of things but i cannot read the france language.. So mayb some one can get this again to a g-sensor game

An internet site, which shall remain nameless, offers an amazing amount of cracked games for my HD2, for free. This is all good. But I love my phone, and I woulden't mind paying for some of them. To support the non-Iphone scene, if nothing else.

That's actually not possible to get HD type games for windows mobile unless you are ready to pay for them then, if you want I can get some HD type games for you.
