I'm using the TG01 and I keep getting a false positive voicemail indicator on the Titanium Home Screen. Calling and leaving a voicemail and deleting it does not work, calling ATT to have my voicemail reset does not correct the problem.
When you call into the VM ATT service from the phone to check your messages, it sends a VM control SMS to the phone, indicating that it is not being properly processed. Has anyone else seen this, or know of a problem besides a master reset - which is annoying b.c. this is the second time this has occured in three weeks.
Thanks!
Search for the tool HushSMS. I Had the same problem and did resolve it with HushSMS.
Isn't this the opposite of what we want to occur though? We are trying to hide network messages from the device not from those we send to.
No, with HushSMS it's possible to send a message to your own phone, that changes the SIM Setting and deletes the voicemails that are not there but which WM shows you.
Thanks that worked!
You're welcome
Although...on second thought - this makes it dissapear but does not prevent it from occuring again - was this the same result for you?
No, it occured never again.
Did it occur again at your phone?
Yeah it occurs again everytime I get a VM, bummer. What type of SMS did you send with Hush SMS?
Is there a way to officially set up ATT VM on an unlocked phone that I'm not following correctly?
The rom update Toshiba released recently did not correct this either as I had hoped. Any thoughts as to why these control SMS and MWI don't process correctly?
Removing the indicator with a Ping0 message in HushSMS is a workaround to parse the indicator but does not prevent it from occuring agian.
Anyone know how to fix this? Getting really irritating honestly.
Same here...
I am on Virgin mobile in the UK and I have the same problem, I got a voicemail this morning and I have deleted the voicemail but it still shows on my phone.
I have rebooted and its still the same
I have to use HUSH SMS to clear my voicemail indicator.
For me it's actually a problem on my sim card. After a flash there is this residual text message that says i have a voicemail. It's wierd.
Anyway, it's a MWI Disable command with HUSH SMS
Click Send MWI, Voice, Deactivate.
Also, you can mess with your windows mobile enabled friends by sending an enable

Hi
I just bought a Galaxy S II and as soon as I put my Canadian Fido sim card
the voicemail notification appeared.
I tried different things but it does not want to go away.
I left a message to myself and then I listened it from my S II, I deleted it
and I press # to hung up but again nothing.
I removed my sim card and I inserted it again but nothing.
I erased everything on the phone and I set it up from scratch again nothing.
Finally I called Fido and I told them to reset my voicemail which they did
but again nothing.
As soon as I put my sim card to my motorola Atrix or my nexus one I dont get the voicemail indicator.
Has anyone faced this problem?
How do I remove the voicemail indicatior
Thanks
Simple answer: You can't.
You can turn the sound off of the notification but it's something sent from the carrier usually. Have you tried another SIM in the phone to see if it still stays there?
If not I'd say the first port of call -- as always -- is a factory reset.
I would have agreed with you but if my carrier where in this case Fido
keeps sending me the voicemail notification dont you think
I would have the notification to my motorola Atrix or Nexus one?
Also I called them up and they reset my voicemail
I did try a factory reset twice
I bought an international unlocked GT-I9300 (it came from Germany/Vodafone). I am currently using it on T-Mobile USA prepaid and all is fine except I have a voicemail notification and associated icon on the home screen that I cannot get rid of.
The notification message says "Dial 5500" that I tracked down to the number used for accessing the Vodafone voicemail.
My assumption is that this is a pre-configured voice message for new Vodafone customers and because I am not not using Vodafone as my carrier I cannot clear it simply listening to the message.
Are there other ways to do it? I tried a software reset (pressing the power button for 10 secs) but it did not help.
I am using the stock firmware.
Thanks!
Has anyone had this happen. For some reason after I rooted my phone everytime I reboot my phone the voicemail icon pops up looking like a have voicemail and goes away
So after installing TWRP and flashing a ROM on my phone back in December, I constantly have a notification on my phone from Phone Services telling me I have one new voicemail when my inbox is empty. What's annoying is that it randomly 'refreshes' making the notification noise, so I am forced to keep it on vibrate otherwise I have to listen to that notification going off all day long. I have lived with it for the past 3 months, but have recently realized when I do get voicemails, it never updates the number it always just says one voicemail. It's really frustrating too b/c I live in a rural area where I sometimes don't have reception and if I get a call it never shows up and if they leave a voicemail I'm not notified unless I actually check it.
I have tried clearing data and cache as well as force stopping in the settings and it will automatically come back within a few minutes. I have set the Phone Services notifications to 'Don't show notifications at all', but it completely ignores it. I have tried switching to Google Voice from Sprint Voicemail and it still appears. I tried switching back to Sprint Voicemail and it's still there. I have flashed new builds of the ROM multiple times and it still shows up, usually about an hour or two after flashing. The only thing I haven't done at this point is use the LGFlashTool to completely vert back to factory which I'm avoiding because of the time/effort and the lingering feeling it still won't fix it.
Before going thru that, I was wondering if I could potentially freeze Phone Services with Ice Box and migrate to use Google Voice for voicemail. Does anyone know if this is ok or will it brick my phone?
Any input is appreciate!
UPDATE: On Wednesday I had a random reboot while using my phone and after booting back up I no longer saw the notificiation. It's been several days since then, booth rebooting the phone and using voicemail and still have not got the notification back. Only thing I have noticed is that it no longer gives a notification at all if I get a voicemail, but since I get a text alert I'm not too concerned.
Unfortunately, if somebody else encounters this same issue it's not much help on why it occurred or how to fix it....
