Volumes: system and phone - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

I went trhou the forum, but I couldn't find an answer...
I know that Journada 928 has a sligthly different volume management that allow you to set different volumes for system (when you use any software, including media player and so on) and phone (when it rings).
The XDA seems not to support such config. I saw that you can change the volume during a telephone call, but you cannot make anything on the ring volume. Is there any solution?
Regards,

Hi ...
It seems you have a PPC2002 ROM. You have to upgrade to any WM 2003 ROM. It has 2 sliders for the system and the phone volumes.

Some questons: radio and sound

Hi.
I`ve 2 questons...
1. Sometimes I miss calls because xda doesnt respond to call - even no missed calls... What to do ?
2. Very often sound disappear... I mean if I hear for mp3 music and somebody calls me - sound turns off in programs (including windows media player and other), but call signal works... What to do ?
ROM version - 3.17.03 ENG
Radio version - 4.21.00
PS: Sorry 4 poor english...
I don't know if I've had exactly the same problem as you, but I have had similar problems. I found if I leave an MP3 player open in memory this situation occurs. I use PocketMusic (or did until yesterday) and leaving PocketMusic open in memory caused all sound to disappear until I killed off PocketMusic.
Hmm... I dont need to open any players to problem occur
Even after restart when a call anyone after that sound disappear
Is it problem of XDA or Windows ?
Is anyone knows util for volume change ? Just like in any desktop windows ?
I`ve found a decision...
Sound works fine in windows ppc2003 - just upgrade your xda
And hold Phone program in a memory - and everebody can call u
I don't know whether this is the same problem but here goes...
I also use PocketMusic (marvellous player) and noticed that when I had incoming calls that the phone would just do the default system beep at me. I tried going to the sounds and notifications control panel to play the "Old phone" ring tone however it just beeped at me...
I then realised that I'd selected .wma in PocketMusic as one of the file types that were associated with PocketMusic. I un-ticked wma as a filetype to be used by PocketMusic and it worked again.
This may be what your problem is.

Incoming call with handset Bluetooth...

With my handset, the Incoming call is quite low, inaudible...
Even at the loudest setting (5)
How to make it much loud, Please ?
Qtek support don’t give any solution, any help is welcome.
First post, but i'll try.
You have 2 configurations of audio. One in the phone and, normally, one of the bluetooth. The bluetooth audio is at the loudest setting too? If it is, try the bluetooth in other phone. If doesn't work, try to hard reset the phone. There are some WM phones that the audio became inaudible for nothing, and after a reset, became normal.
Hope it works.
Sorry the terrible english
@PreZ
Thank you for your help… Prez, Your & My English are “Impecável »
But The Bluetooth audio haven’t loudest setting, I don’t think so…
Can you give more informations, about that ?
Sure,
In some brands, the bluetooth doesn't control de volume of the phone, so when in use, press one of the two buttons of it. One is for raise volume and the other is to down the volume. I know it's common in Motorola's bluetooth.
The phone WM goes until 5 the volume, but normally, some bluetooth have 8 or 10 sound level.
Try this and feedback me if it worked, or, send me a pm in other language

I know two or five words in potuguese (And Impecável, is one of them... abrigado Prez)

[Q] Headset call volume.

Does anyone here make calls using a headset? For some reason on my SGS2 the volume (and this is just for calls, music and media are fine) even at maximum is almost unlistenable. I just cant hear the other person.
Anyone know of a solution?
Ralph
anyone?
I have searched and found loads of threads saying "use the search function " but nothing that answers the issues. Probably a failing on my part I am sure!
Do you have the same issue during VOIP like skype?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Yeahm Music/Video/Podcasts are fine itr is just call volume through headphones. Having said that the maximum call volume even without heaphones is a little low for my tastes but through a headset is just to quiet to hear.
If you try skype or gtalk and you got big difference its due to the audiochip. Music and other apps got other internal settings inside the audiochip. Thats why I was curious if you got the same trouble with skype.
DONT touch any settings in the hidden service menu until samsung got a proper fix for it. The menu wont work properly with the audiochip of the i9100 and could f*** your device completly.
The audiochip will not be able to reset correctly even on hardreset or reflashing new fw.

The call volume through the headset on the S2 is notoriously quiet, the following will help increase the volume through the headset.
note: Use the menu key->Key input to enter values
1. Open the dialler
2. Dial *#*#197328640#*#*
3. Navigate through the following menus:
(5) Audio
(1) Voice call
(2) Headset
(1) Volume
(1) SRC Speech RX Volume
4. Enter 5100. This sets the maximum level (5) to the maximum volume (100).
5. Use the menu key, and select back six times to navigate back to the dialler.
The headset volume setting is now set to the maximum when the volume toggle switch is set to the maximum.
Note: When the phone is reset or powered off, the firmware will reset these settings back to the default, so you will have to go through this procedure again.
Hope it helps!
WARNING CAUTION!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't touch that menu if you don't want to risk anything.
Read about it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248729
That menu is for older devices with another audiochip not for the Yamaha chip thats in the Galaxy S2 device.
I have my phone at samsung Service center a second time due to big trouble with this menu!!
This menu only works like intended on older devices!!!
DO NOT TOUCH UNTIL PROPER FIX IS OUT!!!!!

[Q] Consolidate volume controls?

Hi all,
I've had a search around for answers to my question but can't find any. I've recently upgraded from my beloved HTC HD2 to a Samsung Galaxy S II. The HD2 had consolidated volume controls, which means there's one volume rocker on the side of the handset that controls all of the device's sounds, including media, notifications and ringer, all at once. The Galaxy S II (and I presume Android in general) seems to have numerous volume controls. I thought I'd put it on silent but when I play a game for example, I get sound. I want to be able to have one single volume control for media, ringer, notifications etc. Does anybody know of a way to do this in Android? I'm new to Android, having migrated from Windows Mobile 6.5. It's nice being able to install and use some apps, something that was very poor in Windows Mobile 6.5.
Cheers,
[email protected]
consolidate...
well...did you figure it out?
Jkay app has a volume lock so notifications are the same as ringtone volume. Not sure there might be apps on Google play that do something similar to what OP wanted.

Volumes help factory menu?

Hi there does anyone know how to assign a app to use a different volume level? The problem i have is i use the pumpkin DAB+ app (i have attached to post) to listen to the radio and use tom-tom for navigation but the DAB app volume is much louder that the tom-tom volume so even when set to mute DAB when instructions are played it is too quiet to hear the instructions.
i have tried playing with the volumes in factory setting but it looks as if the DAB and tom-tom volumes are both affected by the system volume, if i lower the radio volume in factor menu and listen to the red radio app and use tom-tom then the instruction are much louder.
so my question is they a way to make the DAB app use the red radio app volume level.
Thanks in advance
You can go in the factory settings menu and change up the volume on 'system' to something like 15 (I tried 20 today and it almost made me jump out of the car when the directions came on!)
OK, back on this thread, which I know I posted a response to. But I didn't quite read the OP right.
I have the same issue that my GPS voice when radio is on is pretty quiet (even with the volume turned up), but when on DVD/streaming it is very loud. Is there a way to make them more equivalent.
Any ideas?
Hi , I have the same issue. When playing music over a music player such as poweramp , dvd or whatever the gps , either sygic or navigon, is perfect. As soon as I use the radio the gps volume is very quiet in both navigation apps. Im using the latest Malaysk ROM.
Thanks
Have you tried head unit system/gps/switching-mixing control ?
Sorry for not updating after my last post, what I have done is in the factory settings menu turned the radio right down (to 1 or 2), DVD down a bit (to 4 I think), system up to about 13 and the volumes are much better mixed. Its only a bit loud when doing Music from USB now so I'm getting there. Basically you need to turn some volumes down, and others up in the factory settings to get something to work for you.
Here's the fix if you have been struggling with this issue

Set the volume levels of correction for each full-time applications. When you switch to the application volume will be increased by the correction value, and at the exit reduced. So I solved the problem of the insufficient level of application volume "Music" in comparison with "Radio";
