Hi,
I have upgrade to 2.09.
It works with TomTom, but I was unabel to use others applications.
So I went back to 2.08 and Towa´s solution

Hi
Nothing prevents from using the 2.09 and Towa's patch I think!
For me everything works, with and without for the moment (tomtom, activesync ..)
I just tried this and it seems to work perfectly with my Socket BT GPS completely doing away with the need for Towa's patch. I deleted the pairing and created it again to be sure it was installed 'as intended' and then selected Bluetooth GPS device from the TomTom menu. Tried it 3 or 4 times and it seems to be working fine.

Hi,
I've an AMEO, i tried recently to upgrade to WM6 here is what i've done so far
1. Unlock / SuperCID by the tool provided in the forum (Successfull)
2. Tried to use the SuperCID only Rom in the forum (here the trouble started)
With everytime i try to upgrade the update process stops at random points, i extracted the rom to check where does it stops and i found that it stops when i tried to flash the GPS.. i did succesfully flashed the whole rom twice but neither the Wifi or the GPS worked, and now i'm running it with the official release wm6 (27/7) but without the GPS.
3. Extracted the GPS and tried to Flash it through SD .. same thing.
any ideas guys?
i've been trying this for 2 weeks now .. what is the hell is wrong with this phone ..
NOTE: it works perfectly with the WM5 ROM
Try a different ROM Image...
run a tool called GPSviewer to check whether it can communicate properly with the GPS module.
Doesn't work
It defenitly not the rom as i used it on the other AMEO i've and it works perfectly, i usually use the SD update, and it shows where is the error and it is at the GPS update .. i get the error 00018003 in red color on the top of the screen and the GPS- ( FAIL ) during the update. i've tried all the rom in the forums and it does the same. I've tried to downgrade again to WM5 and it is the same issue the GPS isn't working anymore.. is there a solution .. it seems it can't write at that address i think 00018003 or something like bad blocks in the NAND! is there any fix for that?!
Experts .. i needd youuuuu
Try the SuperCID2 unlocker, then try reflashing.
Never heared about SuperCID2 !!! What is that, if there is something like that where i can find it?! i did search the forum didn't find anything
Thanks for helping
I have flashed my Gene with the WM 6.0 ROM by mun_rus, everything was working just fine or lest say it was gr8 until lately
I have recently purchased the SatGuide GPS kit which comes with the navigation software , a few maps and a Bluetooth GPS dongle.
I successfully installed the software and the Maps but could not get the GPS dondle to work as it showed an error everytime i tried to pair it with my P3400 . and the instruction malual said that i should have a GPS port present n my cell. Currently my cell does not have the External GPS option under START>SETTINGS>SYSTEM. Earlier when i was on WM 5.0 , i used to have the GPS port.
Can some body help me!!!!!
My Rs.7000/- are on the stakes.
I recently picked up an unlocked Telus HTC Hero. I'm on Rogers.
After rooting the phone, the GPS seems to have stopped working. Specifically, I am unable to get my location via GPS satellites. I'm wondering if there might be some aspect of the rooting process that might interfere with the GPS working properly (recover, radio, rom, etc...) or if anyone else has ever experienced this issue. And of course how to fix it?
I'm working on an app that requires the GPS...so it would be nice if it worked.
Any ideas?
Currently:
- Radio: update-hero-radio-63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26-signed
- Rom: update-hero-generic-2.73.405.66-rooted-signed
This happened to my Hero once.... After I disabled the GPS in the settings menu, it would not retrieve any satellites when I re-enabled it. So I flashed a new radio and it came back.
Later I had the same problem on my Nexus One, and I fixed the issue by disabling both the GPS and "Use Wireless Networks" option above it, and then re-enabling both of them.
I've tried several different things.
1 - Turned off wifi, turned off gps, turned of network location & satellites enabled...
2 - Restarted.
3 - Flashed a new rom, several in fact (HeroDroid, Modaco, HTC Generic)
4 - Flashed several radios (I can't recall which it came with)
Tempted to just sell it and grab another...
same problem here...
i don't get an error message but GPS doesn't work... i try a reset to factory settings but the prob insists. Its really strange that although GPS is on there is not the GPS sign on the notification bar.
Currently:
- Radio: update-hero-radio-63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26
- Rom: update-hero-generic-2.73.405.5 146733
I'm running the rooted, 2.73.405.66 generic ROM off Modaco. I find that the newer radio's with the slightly older firmware don't mix well. I'm running the radio with the FU prefix in it, and GPS works fine.
I actually found when I was messing about with custom ROMs, that the 1.5 ROMs seem to do better with older radio's.
SOLVED for me...
i downgrade to 63.18.55.06FU_6.35.07.08 and everything(till now)seems ok...
Thanks Reverend.

Bravo, you flashed the HBoot from HTC Magic, no help for your hero if you dont use JTAG or kiss your Hero goodbye, put it under a closet do level it
I use stock rom 1.66 and latest radio rom. After installing few programs (5), I got this:
- when I open FM Radio, it starts searching for stations, finds none and then closes with no message.
There is a way to solve it, but needs a hard reset. I am tired to reinstall my phone every 3 days, so I am asking the HD2 doctors:
Can this be solved without hard reset ?
(Another post on this site suggests that the fm radio files can be replaced. I have the files, but I need a step by step, because I'm clueless)
You do know that the headphones are integral, as they are the aerial for the FM Radio.
I have had different results with different headphones or even a audio cable with a 3.5 jack on one side (and setting the radio to output to the rear speaker).
Some locations can be dead spots for FM Radio.
Instead of searching, actually set the frequency to a known radio station. I have on occasion been able to pick up stations (that I knew of) that the search just skipped past.
It's not a headphones or location problem. And I cannot use any button on FM Radio interface. It just say "search" and then dissapears.
More on the problem side, there were stations already saved in the FM Radio interface and all of them are now gone !
To be more exact, first I tried to install latest official Rom 3.xx. I didn't like it at all so I got back official rom 1.66. Then I saw FM radio problem. I've made a Task29 and reinstall rom 1.66. The problem was gone and FM Radio worked gorgeusly. After reinstalling all the programs I previously had, FM Radio dead !
Are you using any backup software? It is fine to do full system backup and restore if you are using the same ROM. Some backup software overwirtes the registry and on a different ROM this can cause no end of problems.
You could hard reset your phone then test the FM-Radio. Install a program, switch off & on then test the FM-Radio. Repeat till either everything works or you find the program that causes the problem.

I'm using backup only for PIMs and Messages. No registry modification.
I already took into account your suggestion and I'll do it next thing, but I hoped that there is someone who can help me revert FM Radio software and drivers to an initial state.
No one has a clue about FM Radio software ???
Hi,
I wanted to use my old HTC One V as a bike computer and remote for my Panasonic camera, but the GPS wont work anymore! All GPS apps/tools show the GPS as enabled, but they cant find any satellites, not even after hours of searching. I tried the following steps to resolve the problem to no avail:
- Went back to stock, relocked the phone, uninstalled the old TWRP recovery, installed two different RUUs, but the problem persisted, everything else works
- Went back to fully modded, installed four different ROMs, newest TWRP recovery, unlocked the phone, etc., still no GPS
- I tried the Ignorance v5 ROM, stock RUU, and CM11, 12 and 13 (everytime I used the correct kernel/boot.img)
- The phone didn't have a SIM-card, so I tried my working SIM, but still no GPS
- GPS was working when the phone was stock and also the Ignorance v5 ROM. After I lent it to a friend, I made a factory reset and wanted to try newer ROMs, thats when the GPS stopped working.
Now my questions are:
- Is there a way to view debug information on the phone, if there is an error? Like more infos, then the standard GPS apps give me.
- Should I check the installed radio and does an RUU overwrite the radio? Does the radio even interface with the GPS hardware?
- Maybe someone has a ROM-Backup with working GPS that I can try to put on my device?
- Is there a way to test the GPS antenna? WLAN, bluetooth and GSM works normal.
Here are my HBOOT/FASTBOOT infos:
PRIMOU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.18.0000
RADIO-3831.24.01.30_M
eMMC-boot
Kind Regards
No ideas at all? Maybe someone can at least say, where the GPS antenna ist located.
