I suppose we started today a looooong thread as it happens when rom updates are made available for download..
I'm trying to update from last t-mobile 1.72, the trick at that time (about 1,5 months ago) was to delete operator name and country id with Er2003, but this time things won't go as they should go: started the upgrade with himaupgradeut.exe "as is", and no way; tried the no-op and no-cid trick and still no way, the error is "ERROR:120 COUNTRY ID ERROR N-8-N-N-N".
Anyone updated his Himalaya successfully from t-mob 1.72?

problem solved, was bad operator specified in er2003, should have run himagetdevicedata.exe earlier and opened results file on the pc (on the pda it's unreadable..)

Can anyone explain me the reasons for installing the italian rom?
I always experienced various problems with it, and since the upgrade to 1.72 WWE my pda is much more stable.
OK, the keyboard is missing the "òàèéìù", but is that a good reason for using the localised version? Don't think so.
Or maybe the problems I had (i.e. errors in Outlook synchronization) are due to the fact that also on the pc I'm using UK OS and applications?

Download that modified version of himaupgradeut.exe, and I think you could upgrade himalaya's rom even feeding it with a windowsxp iso as it won't hang on any country or other stupid errors.. :lol:

u have to use ER2003edit and change the 3 nbf files
If you have an ORIGINAL iMATE you should try CDL as Operator and WWE as language...

Use WR2003Edit (download from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/ER2003Edit ) to change the Italian roms (ms_, NK_, and Radio) from ITA to WWE e from Qtek to CDL (because your Qtek is now I-mate WWE) and you'll be able to upgrade...

If you go to the O2 website you can download a WM2003 update for this device. All you need is your IMEI number and telephone number and then you get the update. Go to this site. http://www.my-xda.com/xdaIISoftware.jsp
Follow this page and get the download you require.
