Someone have an older radio version for XdaI?
I'm using 4.21, but it's problem with my GSM Card.
Can i have it? Then i install it again on my Xda?
I have tried to downgrade from 4.21, it doesnt work.
I think you have to flash the rom for it, it is found at www.yorch.net
sorry that was a quick reply..you first have to lower your rom version to 3.14 or 3.17 the you can upgrade your radio stack to let's say R 6.24 which is the best radio stack ever. I have had many problems with other radio stacks but this is perfect.
Want to downgrade to the earlier xda stack from o2 uk.
never tried that but why not go for any other RAdio STack??
What is Radio stack 6.xx?
It is for a 900/1800 or something else?
Is it the best you thing?
Where can i find it?
I'm using ROM A 30.xx in my Xda.
But the radio stack still problem with my GSM Card. (Stay with the 4.21 RSU, can't change)
in my opinion Radio stack 6.24 is the best operating system for the Gsm part of our xdas. you can find it at www.yorch.net under the title upgrades. all you have to do is unzip it and then send it to your device aftger that you run it from your device and you are all set. When unzipping you may need to use a software called winRaR . Something similar to winzip..not sure but if you try the normal winzip and you are prompted for a password than unRaR it. you can find winRar on www.download.com or any other site. Remember to send the unziped files to your device and then while your device is cradled go to windows explorer and then look for the files you have unzipped. One of them will have a .exe extension, simply double tab and then the upgrade will start. REMEMBER, RADIO UPGRADES ARE VERY DANGEROUS AND MAY DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE. YOU DO THIS UNDER YOUR OWN RISK.
RSU Downgrade
Hi,
I did the foolish thing to upgrade my RSU to O2 4.21. Now my phone keeps losing the signal and needs to be reset each time to get it back. I am desperately looking for an older version of the RSU. AT&T and T-MObile version won't do since they are for 1900 networks. If anyone has an older European RSU please contact me or send it to me.
Btw, you should be able to downgrade the RSU using an SD card and going to the bootloader menu, if everything else fails.
Best
Prezimir, I tried many times to downgrade from 4.21 with zero success.
You can download old radio stack from here, let me know if you get it to work please.
http://www.sourceo2.com/O2_Developers/Devices/O2_Xda/xda_ROM_Archive.htm
Still no luck
I tried this one already (4.16) but it would not flash.
I have a couple of other versions also that I've managed to collect, even the Microsoft official RSU release for Europe but still no luck in getting to flash it in.
No matter what I try as a sequence I always get the 1% Flash failed error. Actually I have managed to increase to 5% Flash failed by changing the RSUpgrade exe with another version but that's the most I could do.
Weird as it is, the 4.21 RSU flashes all the time perfectly, so I guess it must be some kind of protection incorporated into it or maybe I am being paranoid ...
All ideas are welcome, I have tried so many things already that probably could fill up my own forum. If anybody managed to downgrade from 4.21 please let us know!
Best
SamerFam. I've take a look at www.yorch.net for RSU 6.24
But i think it's compatible with USA ROM which using 900/1900 Mhz GSM.
Unfortun, my country didn't use that freq. They using 900/1800 Mhz freq.
I thought that would'nt work on my Xda.
Thanks for your opinion.
If someone have success to downgrade the RSU, plis give me an email at [email protected]
Thanks a lot
Simple download old RSU 4 files to your XDA in Windows folder, and execute it, it will downgrade your radio stack!

Wow! Amazing! Is it running smoothly when u downgrade the RSU?
I'm using V4.21 (GSM 900/1800) right now. And i really want to downgrade it to the older version. But never works! Like i told u before, it's failed when reaching 1%. Any special software or something to make it possible downgrade? I'm to desperate! Pliz, help me!
Hi again,
So I have managed to finally downgrade my radio stack from 4.21. Unfortunately the RSU version I put was not a big improvement so I will continue testing with other RSU versions until I find a good one. Keep in mind that I am not in the US so AT&T and T-Mobile RSU won't do.
Anyway for those who are still trying unsuccessfully to downgrade - it seems that the problem is in the RSUpgrade.exe program which overwrites the RS, not in the RS upgrade itself. So please try to find other versions of RSUpgrade.exe and run them with the desired RSUpgrade.cp64 and monitor* files. I have a version that worked and passed the 1%. If anyone wants to try my version let me know and I will put it online.
Good luck to all
Prezimir, yes please, I have tried many times to downgrade 4.21 to earlier O2 radio stack, I will be very interested in your method.
Or send it to me and I can upload for all.

i could hack Radio rom from Cinglar, and make Flashable file.
2 of them,,Version 1.10 and 1.16 were tested on my VarioII.
i tried to upload them onto xda-FTP many times but fialed.
so i uploaded to my FTP for you guys.
instruction of upgrade also there.
Please got to get them if you interested in.

Good luck
Asukaly yours!
WTF! This is _VERY_ good news!!
How did you manage to cook the type 2 radio rom??
Is Ma_Upgrade_NoID working with the hermes bootloader?? AFAIK the bootloader lacks wdata command... (replaced by 'wdatah')
Is it that you need only rwdata but not wdata to flash radio?
An explanation of the process to create the working nbf out of the extracted .nb files would be very useful!
Thanks!!
EDIT: I uploaded the files to xda-dev FTP and make a new wiki page:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtractedRadioRoms
Thanks for the new Radio update. Just updated my MDA Vario II. Will test if there's any improvements!
Seems to work like a charm!
ROM 1.18.255.3
ROM date: 07/22/06
Protocol version: 32.53.7018.01H
Ext ROM 1.18.255.106
Radio 1.16.00.00
And my Bootloader remains at V1.04 :!:
(I'd have pasted a bitmap, but I couldn't figure out how!).
Major kudos to Asukal!!!!!!!
Now if we could only find a new TyTN System ROM to go along with this spiffy new radio...
super Asukal, great news!!!
about the screen alignment problem, if you have some free time, could you please translate whats is the problem and how they do to fix the screen alignment problem please

thanks you so much Asukal!
I am receiving country id error : 120 while attempting to upgrade the radio from Cingular 1.31 ( radio 1.13). Even when i ran the upgrade second time device seems to go into radio update screen but just sits there and doing nothing.
then the radio updare error comes up. following the soft reset I have checked device information and radio version is still: 1.13
device is HTC TyTN, originally shipped with Italian ROM.
any ideas?
@superduper: I guess you need a 1.04 bootloader to perform the radio only rom upgrade from Asukal, but your current rom has bootloader 1.06
Let's see if anyone else with Cingular 1.31 rom can do the radio only upgrade or has the same problem you reported...
@Asukal: please give us details on how you did to extract the "radio_.nbf" from shipped Hermimg Cingular NBH file
this is super excellent. Now all we need is a rom image update then we can make our own aku 3.2 version.
Good job Asukal.

if no_id_upgrade can not work on Bootloader 1.06,

Is it any better?
So, a question for those of you who've done the upgrade - does it make any difference you can notice? Just wondering if it's worth doing the upgrade at the moment, or waiting for new HTC rom when it finally appears.
Tried this on a Orange M3100 with the 1.31 Cingular ROM, but it doesn work. Just sites at 0% and then you eventually get an error. Seems like you need bootloader 1.04 for this to work...
are there any improvements using these new radio roms? also, what's the difference between 1.10 and 1.16?
thanks
I wasn't having any radio problems previously, and so far, I haven't seen any issues with 1.16, either.
Bluetooth works fine, UMTS/GSM calls work fine, WLAN works fine, and UMTS data works fine...
If I see any strange behaviors, I'll be sure to point them out...

Please tell me if this process is correct to create the radio_.nbf:
Code:
nbh2dbh.pl HERMIMG.nbh HERMIMG.dbh
dbhdecode.pl HERMIMG.dbh
alpinenbfdecode.pl -e ./GSM.nb radio_.nbf
My radio_.nbf and yours differ, is it because of headers?
Thanks!
Just tried the procedure on mine.
Hardware = Dopod 838Pro
ROM = imate
Upgraded to radio version 1.16, the procedure worked fine! Except that after the flashing was complete the PC displayed "upgrade failed" but after a soft reset of the PDA, it worked.
You did a great job, Asukal!!!
I can see some improvement that I can see more wireless bar on my title bar after I upgrade radio ROM.
Thsi is cingular ROM, so I don't know somebody who lives outside US can see this improvement, but I can see it in my rural US state.
In addition, as you said, I can see OS runs smoothly than my original ROM.
I was usually stuck when I run "menu" or "button" applet in control panet. But after I upgrade to Radio 1.16, I don't have it.
I don't know why, but it is real.
I appreciate your effot!!
works great, thanks..
guys who can not flash Radio
One of my friends try to flash 1.16.and faild in that.
But could flash 1.11.
then tried 1.16 again, finally he could flash 1.16.

Hi,
I am a SoftBank X01HT user. Recently a rom update was released and I applied it.
ftp://210.136.175.150/F1_RUU/RUU_X01HT_1.33.761.4_1.14.00.10.exe
After update the bootloader version changed to 1.09, so I downgraded the bootloader to 1.04 and it seems to be successful (I confirmed it in bootloader mode screen). Then I installed the DoCoMo version shipped rom of following versions.
ROM Version: 1.23.731.2
Radio Version: 1.06.00.10
Bootloader: 1.04
Language: JPN (Japanese)
CID: DOCOM801
The installation finished successfully, but the radio version is 1.14!!
ROM Version:1.23.731.2
Radio Version:1.14.00.10
I tried to upgrade radio to 1.20 but in vain. I ran MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and it seemed to work correctly till 99% (however it shows ERROR 114 finally).
After soft reset, I found that the radio version was still 1.14.00.10.
What's the matter? Anyone can help please?
Best regards,

might be due to the new SoftBank ROM sold since December?
Even they http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m3100unlock.php couldn't do it:
The Unlocker it will NOT WORK with Japanase Softbank devices with SPL1.09 and radio 1.14.00.10 sold after 1st December 2006. To check your spl just put the phone in bootloader :hold the [OK] button (from the left side of the phone where the volume button is) and the [power on] button and in same time press the [reset] hole (near to the charger connector -- use stylus to press it!) and you can see IPL and SPL
Radio version can be checked from Start->Settings->System->Device Information:Radio Version.
If you buy the unlocker and claim that your phone is a 1.09 we will NOT refund you. We don't know when we will release a new update or IF we will release one!!!

Yes, I think the new softbank device has the radio area "read only" somehow, that makes impossible to patch the radio in order to SIM/CID unlock. However I would like to see a USB Monitor capture of the process when trying to flash a radio rom on it, to see exactly what the bootloader returns. If anyone can attach it, it would be great

Would be an explaination but uedam said he is stuck on 1.14.0.1 since he installed the new X01HT ROM. This implies he had another version before - so it seems that the read only effect isn't caused by the hardware but by the ROM and can't be removed by flashing another ROM (at the moment).
Perhaps there is a hidden command executed when the ROM is flashed. Something that write-protects a range in memory. But I have no explaination why the process runs until 99%.
Someone has to log the USB traffic when flashing the new ROM.
By the way: I'm not willing to test this on my own device

Here is the log files exported from usbmon. I hope it will help to solve the problem.

Sorry, the file was too large to attach to this post.
p.s. If you need further information, please let me know.
Thanks uedam, the process seems to be the same like in every other device. The only "minor" strange thing is that when flashing a 0x10000 byte block at address 0x6d0000 you get a failure the first time, then the RUU does an 'rerase' of this memory portion, tries again and gets a success, and follows with the radio flashing process. But I think this has nothing to do with the problem we're facing here.

I uploaded the USB traffic log and please view the file. Does the same thing occur when writing another rom? or this is the first case?

Hmmm, would it make sense to have him log the full-upgrade process - presumably the "locking" happened when he did the RUU_X01HT_1.33.761.4_1.14.00.10.exe
and hopefully it would happen even if Radio 1.14 were already on the system when he re-did the full upgrade.....

Hey uedam, nice work dude!
I've had a quick look and seems a normal upgrade to me, I see nothing related to the write-locking of the radio, but will look at it more deeply later, in case I skipped something important.
However I extracted GSM.nb from softbank 1.33.761.4 ROM and GSM.nb from HTC 1.18.416.1ROM which both should be radio 1.14.00.10 but the files are different, so I guess the locking is done in the radio itself (??).

So, if possible, we cook new rom which includes radio rom same as HTC 1.18.416.1 rom then the person who has 1st version of X01HT can upgrade it safely?

If it is impossible, the person who has contract with softbank will have much trouble. Because they have to upgrade their devices till 1st of April in order to use internet connection. Softbank announced that we would not be able to connect to the net without upgrading to new rom.

Where is this announced? My understanding is that it is not possible to use "Direct Internet" if you don't have the latest ROM but you can still access the internet via normal packet communication - it's more expensive though.

Only one short question! -Only one short answer! ;-)
I´ve flashed my hermes to the 1.35 radio rom. Now iam getting these ****ty
radio waves signals out of the hermes´s earspeaker . And it is possible that i have to send in my device, because i have several problems with sending sms. Because of these things it would be very nice if it is possible to flash back to the shipped version of the Radio Rom(1.27.00.00)
I tried to flash back with
RUU_Hermes_TMD-TMA_Radiopatch_1.27.00.00_107_GER.exe
and it completed succesfully but on the hermes is still the 1.35 Version of the radio rom.
THX
You will need the sspl version of the installer. It can be downloaded here.
hmm, so i took the wrong radio ROm version?
on this site:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291827
i took the first one because i have a herm300 from t-mobile.
So i only have to flash with the version you gave me, and thats all?
Update radio without Activesync connetion
Can I update this rom version without any activesycn connection. My HTC TYTN is hang out after rom dwwongrading and now it start unitl windows loading screen. I think that only alternative is download new rom with help of three colour screen usb connetion or with help of mtty program. My bootloader version is 1.09
Please let me know your opinions,

@Miliano: you are correct. The sspl download for v1.27 was created by wpbear.
Unbelievably, I found the link for you by looking in the Hermes WiKi....
@frontpage: sspl based flashing won't work unless windows mobile can load
Hi @ all...
so time has come i will return my phone to tmobile, because of the heavy problems with the slide-out-keyboard. i tried to solve my keyboard-problems with the orignal shipped rom, but i realised that it doesn't matter which rom i flash to my phone, the problem seems to be of hardware-ish nature...
so now my problem is: i want to fall back to the original state...
i want original IPL,SPL,OS,Radio, Boot, etc etc...
i tried to flash the "Original Shipped TMOB101" from the wiki, it flashed nice with CustomRUU...the original flash utility couldn't find my phone.
so i unpacked the exe and flashed the nbh with CustomRUU... flashed nicely, but didn't boot... first problem: whitescreen, second: hang on windows mobile screen, third: NOGSM... tried to flash newer GSM 1.43. this worked nice then, but isn't original... any idea how to get the 1.05.02 radio running? tried to reflash the complete tmobile nbh again, same result.
tried to flash with Vista, and also with XP, nothing changed...
next problem i assume is: how to downgrade SPL? and how to detect Bootversion? could it be, that i flashed some newer boot in between, because, i have always flashed newest radio roms, could it be that i flashed a boot together with a certain radio?
hope someone can help me... my device is also simunlocked, i hope they do not recognize it at tmobile. but i want to get everything else into original state before returning.
greetings
garfield
There is now an official wm6 update which you can use
it's available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337163
If you're wondering if it's properly been released, it's also available on the t-mobile business site.
Shaks
shaks1979,
I have just been to the tmobile business site and I cannot find the WM6 update - please can you post a link to it?
many thanks,
Paul
the german t-mobile site dies not offer to download the upgrade yet.
flashed the new WM6 from t-mobile yesterday, and it works really great, but my keyboard isn't functional anyway...
has anyone an idea how to enable the flash-utility to overwrite the SPl and IPL? because my tri-color-screen reads IPL-1.01 and SPL-2.10-Olipro and this means, both of them have not been updated... any way to overwrite these rom-sections with the now tmobile ones?
so when finished upgrading (IPL and SPL have to be upgraded before i can go on) i will return my phone to a tcom store, they have to bother with my keyboard issue... my phone isn't a half year old by now... keyboard issues like this shouldn't be there i assume
greetings
and thanks for the new wm6 links.
garfield
Extract the nbh file from the T-Mobile ROM and flash it with CustomRUU. This will overwrite IPL / SPL
[...see reason]
which settings do i have to use with CustomRUU? do i have to select same radio-buttons as always? (SPL 2.10-Olipro/Is it HardSPL) ?
okay, so i found the option via try and error i had to use use: Force UNSAFE SSPL.
i have another question now:
as far as i know, t-mobile DE has not released this ROM to its customers via their website, so i have to flash my phone back to WM5 original rom, and bootloaders, because this new tmobile rom didn't make my problems with the keyboard go away.
my local store told me that they will send the device back to tmobile, and tmobile then will repair or exchange the device.
so if they send it back to tmobile, i uess i have to put it into original state, haven't i? cause flashing the rom causes loss of warranty, doesn't it? i hope they will not recognize, that i sim-unlocked it (did not touch the CID).
problem occurring: i extracted the nbh from the original shipped-archive and flashed it with CustomRUU but when booting NO GSM shows up, and windows stops booting during first bootsplash... sometime during second bootsplash... any idea? might it be that it was like this, because of olipros 2.10 SPL?

I wonder why you SIM unlocked your device?
The German Hermes never was SIM locked, so, there was no need to unlock it!
You will either have to Soft-CID-unlock or Hard-CID-unlock your device if you want to flash it otherwise it won't work!
What settings are you talking about? You simply copy the nbh file to the CustomRUU folder and run the UPDATE UTILITY in there! There are no settings, it works the same way as the utilities from shipped ROMs - simply follow the instructions on screen and do not plug out nor touch the device until the job is done!
So actually it is not a hermes, it is a MDA Vario 2 from tmobile, isn't it?
partly you're right, the device wasn't sim-locked, but net-locked, wich means i cannot use my second sim card from vodafone with it. so i had to unlock it.
(i tried without unlocking, the phone asked me for a certain code and no, it was not the pin-code from the vodafone-sim )
if you launch CustomRUU you are asked for the version of your SPL, at least this is what happens when i start it. if you cannot imagine what i am talking about, i will make a screenshot, for better understandings.
I had Hard-SPL installed, this is a form of SOFT-CID-unlocking?
with having Hard-SPL installed i could not boot the original shipped german TMOB101-rom from the wiki...
can i flash the old ipl/spl/radio/os without worries?

Within the CustomRUU folder you should see a file called ROMUpgradeUt.exe - this never ever asks for SPL, it is nothing but a modified FLASHING UTILITY.
i only have ruuwrapper.exe
i used this customruu v5.2 from olipro's thread
what customruu are you talking about? actually i never saw a file named ROMUpgradeUt.exe
where to find?
thanks for your help.

EDIT:
i have just found this:
NOTE: If your radio version is currently HIGHER than 1.27.00.00 then it is very likely the radio bootloader is version 0108, this WILL NOT allow the radio to be downgraded to a radio containing BL 0106 and will result in a "NO GSM" error. As with other downgrade guides this is NOT intended as a guide for claiming the warranty of the device having flashed components which are not authorised by the manufacturer or carrier.

Good day,
I'm working on my friend's HTC HD2 (512 Mbytes version) (not T-Mobile HD2)
I'm working on it to run Android from the sdCard, but unfortunately I didn't succeeded !!!!
I've done that on T-Mobile HD2 version, but for a reason it can't run on my friend's 512 Mbytes version
What I did is;
I put the Android folder on the root of sdCard, and tried to run the Android by trying both (512/1024 MB data) but the result for both trial were the same
The phone boots up to the black screen showing small white text at the top and stuck on this
The phone has a radio version (2.07.51.22_2), is it possible that the radio version is old and can't run the Android??
I knew that on T-Mobile HD2, I have to go for radio version 2.15.50.xx to run the Android smoothly without problems.
But I'm afraid to try updating the radio in this 512 Mbytes HD2 and brick it by installing a not compatible radio version because I'm more familiar with T-Mobile HD2
Any hints and helps ????
Thanks
The minimum radio required ie radio 2.08.50.
So yes a update is recommended.
Ps; the .50 radio is compatible on each leo device.
I don't know what happen, before I was able to run the CLRCAD.EXE and HARET.EXE
Now, whenever I try to run them, the phone keep giving me an error message saying
"The file 'CLRCDA' cannot be opened. Either it's not singed with a trusted cirtificate, or one of its components can't be found. If the problem rersists, try reinstalling or restoring this file"
Any hints???

Try using android loaders, instead of directly run clrcad

All stock rom before version 3.14 has different radio, for non tmo us .51 and for tmo us .50. Since rom version 3.14, non tmo us has the same radio 2.15.50.
Don't ever try flash a tmo us with radio .51, it will brick your Leo, but for non tmo us (originally using radio .51) can be flashed with radio .50.
