Hi
When I recieve an SMS message, the recpients name does not appear, only there number, so I have difficulty in knowing who it is from.
The people I recieve from are in my contacts, so why does there name not appear?
Thanks in advance
Max

I have just got myself a XDA unlocked and using it on T-Mobile. My question is, when i receive call from contacts in my address book it shows who is calling, but when i receive a text message from the same person, it just shows the number and not their name. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to make it show their name because I don't understand why it isn't?
Thanks
Dr :? :?
I have sorted it myself thanks!
Hi ...
if you are happy with your current ROM you can got to www.yorch.net and search for "SMS patch" at applications section, or you can cook a new ROM that has this fix already.
Thanks for that, cheers
all sorted now

Hi i was just wondring if anyone can tell me how i can get the senders name of the SMS to come up in the SMS inbox rather than just there phone number. Its really annoying when you get a text message and the phone number comes up and not the name of the person who sent it.
install this

For some reason my incoming and outgoing text messages for some individuals are being split up into separate threads. Even if I send from the thread I am receiving messages in, they will appear in the other thread. This does not occur with most contacts. The "contact history" option in the contact will see the incoming messages, but if I click the text message icon from their phone number in that same contact (the only one they have), it will open to the outgoing message thread. This persists for those individuals after deleting the threads.
I'm on the OTA 2.3.4 update- not rooted or modified in any way.
I haven't been able to find any reference to this type of problem, so any help or insight would be appreciated.
Try checking your contact for duplicate entry(different name, same number or same name different number, etc). That was my issue back then when i was using a symbian based phone.
Hi,
I have TWO problem while messaging:
1. When I choose more than 10 numbers in "Enter recipient" I am getting pop-up message "10 contacts available only". How I can increase recipient number.
2. Getting BEEP tone with vibration alert when receiving notification. How I can mute this tone and remove vibration.
Someone please help me.
Can ANYONE reply me NOW.
Wow demanding...
A depressingly simple Google search produced the following:
http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...-a-group-that-has-more-than-10-contacts-in-it
I suggest you familiarise yourself with Google before demanding answers on XDA...
Thanks....
Hi all,
I didn't find anything or I look after the wrong words.
In the last time I was sending a text message to more than one people.
Android groups them into only one thread and when I receive a answer a new single thread is opened with the reply.
Is it possible, through settings or apps, to make that if I send the same msg to A, B and C he opens me 3 single thread and not 1??
Thank in advance :highfive:
