Hi, I bought the EU model Galaxy S 2 off E-Bay that is already rooted and unlocked via software. I read online that the social hub uses the sim card to verify the location of the phone when adding IM accounts (not sure why but it does). My sim card is a US T-Mobile sim card. Whenever I try adding my windows live messenger account through the social hub, it says error occurred. I read that this happens because of the sim card not being EU.
So my questions are:
A) Would a custom ROM fix this problem?
B) Where in the source code can I find the application and modify it, if that is a viable option to solving my problem?
I also spoke to a T-Mobile rep about the 3G not working and he said it was because it was a EU phone. Anyone know if there is a workaround to get this phone on T-Mobile's 3G/4G instead of EDGE?

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the reason I even want to add windows live to this phone is because I want to take the contacts out of my wp7 and import them to this phone. Only way to do this is through cloud though.

build number gb .xarf124 flashed prl to verizon put on pageplus everything works but the data is there a way to fix this i had a mezmerize on us cellular got it workin fine but this one is a no go if i flash a generic kernal would that fix the problem and if anyone could send me a link to the one i need that would be great.
