DOWNLOADING WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Whats the correct link to downloading windows media player for my XDA, PLEASE? I just recently successfully ran S E ROM I seemed to have lost it and I decided to totally erase it from my XDA and desktop. Though I have other media player progs like DivX now, I still want to have the windows media player too....
My device info:
-Version 3.0.12039 (Build 11178)
-ROM Version 3.17.03 ENG
-ROM Date 05/15/03
-Radio Version 6.18.00
-Protocol version 324e4
-Model No PW10A1
As always your help input is highly appreciated...Thanks!

as far as i know then it's in the rom and cant be installed
are you sure that when you mean deleted you dont mean that
the shortcut to the program is gon ?
if you have a file in your windows dir called wmplayer.exe then you just deleted the shortcut and can start that exe file or make a new shortcut yourself

Thanks, it worked. Now I'm still trying out how to open the files I want to listen to or watch. When I click settings, it takes me to 3 folders non of which is helpful:
-Local Content (which contains nothing)
-Web Favorites (also contains nothing)
-Organize Playlists ( New, Rename and Delete)
I usually store media files on my SD Card, but I cant seem to navigate/access them from WMP.
Also, how do I create a link or icon to either Programs or the Today screen?
Thanks once again.

I think media player likes files to be in my documents folder either on pda or sd card.

when i enter the play list and make a play list and want to add something i press the green +
and i get a list called all content
and it conclude every wma and mp3 file on my device then i add those i want on my play list and it play them
and yes all my media is also on the sdcard
of cause in general i dont use wmp at all
i use winipaq the winamp for pocketpc i like it much more then wmp

asking for help w tcpmp and video flash bundle

I downloaded tcpmp and the video flash bundle and am still having problems watching anything on the media player.....any time I try to watch something it goes straight to the windows media player and I get an error message....what do I do now to make this work for me? thanks
I have this exact same problem. I've tried searching both xda and ppcgeeks but haven't found the solution, although it's rumored that Youtube has stopped working, I think?
Anyway, I've also tried rolling these into dcd's 3.0.4 kitchen with no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.

Open the file from within TCPMP rather than from file explorer. You can also change the file associations from within TCPMP for the type of file you are trying to view (.avi, etc).
Are you trying to watch from Youtube? If so, make sure you are not on m.youtube.com. The flash bundle works with the regular site.
You installed TCPMP and Flash Video Bundle Correctly right.
Install TCPMP into your SD CARD
copy the flash video bundle cab into the directory where TCPMP was installed
Once you have copied it over install Flash Video Bundle to SD Card
Make sure the file associations on TCPMP are checked to play the files that you want to play also.
tcpmp and video flash bundle resolved
I found a site that finally worked and fixed my problem: http://www.sprintmogul.net/Default.aspx?tabid=54&ptid=370&threadid=3334&forumtype=posts

Windows media player in cocked ROMs

Having looked for a solution both by searhing the forums and playing with the files myself I try to ask the question here:
On all ROMs I have tested the windows media player have not been able to load playlists with even a few albums, due to memory problems. The original HTC roms have never showed this problem. To further investigate I have stripped the HTC 6.1 ROM to get the correct files, but I've only put them in a separate folder and did not burn them into the ROM so the about dialog still shows the same version.
SO - my questions are:
Do I need to replace all dll-files in ROM (that is, to the windows folder) to get the complete correct version, or is it sufficient to have them in a separate folder together with the exe?
Do some of you coockers have the detailed insight to tell me what files I need to change?
Or am I completely off - is the error in some of the registry tweaks, and not in the player files?
(When I asked this directly in the thread for one of the ROMs I was told to that WMP isn't the best choice - this might be true, but I have my music library in wma-files and I need a player that accept the volume control from the HTC wired remote. If someone can point me to a player that fulfil these requirements I will forget about the WMP )

[Q] How to hide unwanted mp3 files from windows media player

Hello
I wish to hide some audio files from Windows Media Player 10 Phone.
for example when I choose Update Library on Windows Media player 10 Phone, I want to WMP don't add audio files from My Ringtones folder & My SMStones folder to its library, because I don't want listen unwanted mp3s every time I use media player!
Everybody has a solution to help Windows Mobile Phone Owners!?
This is an arsed about method, but, remove the file you don't want media player to see, then update the library,, finaly replace the remaining files from whence they came
Thank u, But after next "update the library", they will be added to windows media player library.
A better solution?
for starters you could browse this thread "[REF] *Leo Hints, Tips and Registry Tweaks", if no satisfying solution is provided there, then:
- one option is to use different music player, e.g. Nitrogen (free) or Pocket Player ($$$)
- another to set folders you don't want to see as hidden in file explorer - but the you will not see them in other apps should the need happen,
- finally, you can edit the registry to exclude unwanted folders in the way described here - works for me, at least for the folders on SD Card

[Q] Problem with Music Hub.

Hello. I would like to ask for some help with my HTC Mozart 7 phone please.
Recently I have tried the "Wp7UsbStorageEnabler" tool and while testing it out, I deleted every empty folder I found within my phone.
After that, all the music I transfer through zune to my phone has no artist information. The artists show up on the zune collection but not on my phone.
For example I should have 16 artists on my phone I can only see one named "unknown".
I have tried resetting the phone and restoring even backups from many months before but the problem is still there. I have even formatted the disk through windows 7 while using the tool mentioned above but zune only creates the folder for the music when I synchronize music!
Is there a way to fix this please? Like manually creating the folder structure if this is the problem?
I am using the latest version 7.5 from the original operator (O2 UK).
I mean the phone is not unlocked/rooted...
Thank you in advance.
Problem solved!
It has nothing to do with the device. It is Zune. If you do not have an album name for the song, then it puts a name like: Unknown Album + Date. What I did is rename all songs with this behaviour with the same name for album like: Unknown.
It worked. That also means that the folder structure has nothing to do with it.
I am writing this solution for a future reference.

How to download complete mp3 files from a music website

Hi I am Rupesh from India. I have android mobile phone.
I have seen a music website which contains 9000 mp3 files and from that I need 3000 mp3 files and these files are contained in a separate category and again these files are arranged into sub categories.
I know about offline browsers and I have used some of them on windows os but at present I don't have Windows PC or laptop. some of which I used was neo downloader which is used to download complete image files from a website and it worked very nicely and it was easy to understand.
I am new to httrack and have no idea about scanrules, mime associations etc., I have tried to download complete mp3 files using httrack but I am unable to understand the options I mean filters, flow control etc.,
I want to download only mp3 files and discard all other file types including HTML,CSS,js,jpeg etc.,. The site structure must be present.
If you suggest httrack please try to suggest the options I mean scanrules, type/mime associations.
Is there any tool based on httrack which provides simpler GUI interface for android mobile phone.
Regards,
Rupesh.
