So I have a habit of sliding the phone open and then pressing the hardware messaging key, and no matter what, it never seems to work. I press the button, and Ill see the today screen, but no messaging window. I have to slide it back closed and open again and everything sorts itself out.
I've tried looking, but haven't seen anyone complain about this particular problem. Anyone else fret about this? any solutions?
no one has this problem?

I find my X01HT in landscape mode when i wake him um with the "on" button, and have to wait for it to "think" a litle bit to obey me, while that, if I try to push any command he will go crazy and the image will stay locked in the last scene and will not get actualized... Kind of annoying thing, using black Satin... But i'll try schaps now to see if that goes away...

Im on WM5.
Vijay, I don't want to disable orientation permanently. Just sometimes, I want to start messaging, so in stanby mode itself, ill open and start it up. thats what confuses the 8525, thats all. I have to close the phone, and then slide it open again for it to regain consciousness!
Its no biggie, but i was just wondering if any1 else had a similar issue.
FINALLY... WHAT YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR

I've come to notice that no one REALLY knew how to fully disable screen rotation on WM devices.
Some offered 3rd party apps to get the job done, some only knew how to disable automatic rotation, but when the device went into standby and woke up again - the screen rotated back. So that didnt really work.
So if you're as desperate as i was about screen rotation,
this is what you need to do:
1. Get dotfred's free taskmanager HERE, and run it.
2. Go to "Devices" tab, and look for "MIS1:" device (oem_misc.dll)
3. Long-Tap on it, and tap on "Stop"
4. Long-Tap on it again, and now choose "Set Manual"
5. Go to "Notifications" tab, and look for "Notifications\NamedEvents\VCPowerWakeupEvent"
6. Tap on it to make it selected
7. Disable it
(In dotfred's taskmanager, there should be a button for disabling it, but for some reason some devices couldn't see the button icons, although the buttons are still clickable. Under the notifications list there is an empty light-blue line - the buttons are there, eventough you can't see them.
The disable buttons is somewhere i the middle of that light-blue line, just tap the center until a message box popps up and asks if you'd like to disable this notification - Tap on yes.)All those steps are a one time deal - they stick even after an SR.
This has been tested on htc universal and works great.
The screen will keep its orientation even if you flip your screen, take out your built in keyboard, or turn the device off and back on.
The only time your screen will revert back to the original orientation is when you soft reset your device.
Hope this helps

I know this is a stupid question but for the life of me I just can`t remember how to do it. I think senility is setting in.
With my Touch Diamond, my TouchHD, and now my HD2 and numerous ROM installs I`ve removed and adjusted my tabs and I now want to put my stocks tab back in the bottom slider bar. I`ve tried every settings page and searched here and can`t find how to do it. I can even picture the screen that lets me do it but can I find it.
It should be under;
Settings > Personalise > Sense Tabs.......
Tick the little box next to stocks and then ok..
Hope that helps.....
Thanks mate. I am a plank. I was on the settings page and for some reason it opened with the security tab at the top. All I had to do was scroll down and lo and behold there is the personalise tab.
Can`t believe how stupid I am, it must be the heat.
Now where are my tablets
lol......... we all have those kind of days

I did try to set up my place (Turin, Italy) as a default place, but even this way after few hour the watch display a totally wrong time. This way also the calendar and the alarm is totally messed up. My girlfriend and I both have an Evo3D. I've had mine for almost a year, and she just got hers this week as an Asurion replacement for her 3rd Evo Shift (digitizer issues).
This phone works well, but she pointed out that she can't attach pictures to a text message. From the Message list screen:
1.) Open a conversation
2.) Press the paperclip to attach
3.) Select Picture (or whatever you want)
4.) Press "Gallery"
5.) Select an Album
6.) Select a single item
7.) (return to 5)
The phone never actually completes step 7, it goes back to step 5 infinitely until you press the Back button. If you go through the gallery app and "share" through message, it works kinda well; but not really... Phone is up-to-date with ICS and stock ROM.
Should we factory reset and see if that clears it up? Anybody else seen this issue or similar? There are no add-ins other than Swift Key 3, and we've tried it using the stock keyboards.
I also noticed she can't add Widgets to her home screen (the list comes up blank)... so does the "app shortcut" section, as well.. All help appreciated, thanks
Sounds like a hard factory reset is required, no widget screen? At this point, that's all you can do
(Don't ask me for help as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh! )
There's apparently a setting called "Don't keep activities" under "developer options" and my curious girlfriend thought it would save battery power to turn that on... turning it off fixed both issues. Thanks guys!
I had Capture+ down on my bar next to the Square, Triangle, and Circle navigation buttons.
I also had it up in the menu slide bar next to my WiFi enable button.
I rooted, unlocked, put on TWRP, and by the time everything was done, I am lacking this feature now...
I really need this feature, please tell me how to get it back.
EDIT*
Settings > About Phone > Update Center > App Updates. There you should find quick memo+ which i believe is the same as capture+
This seemed to fix it
I swear I searched for it prior, but couldn't find it.
Thanks!
Go to settings, display, home buttons, button combination, and then slide capture + into the lineup. You'll then have it back at the bottom of your phone.

The G5 being my first LG phone, I had never used Capture+. Now I love it and would use it still on another model phone.
