Help changing Time Format - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

I purchased my phone from Ebay. It came installed with xda-developers.com . In intrigued by the modifications to the modifications to the system.
I'm needing help with the following:
The time automatically shows in 24 hour format vs 12 hour format.
Example Currently it reads 16:32, I desire it to read 4:32 Pm. What should I do?

goto start -> settings -> system -> regional settings -> time tab ... and change the time style to a format with small 'h' ... the capital 'h' is for the 24hr format.

Today screen modifications in ROM?

Hello.
My XDA Today screen displays 4 lines, they are:
- Tap here to set owner...
- No upcoming appointments
- No unread messages
- No tasks
I want to make a ROM without the first line and I want to add one line more for the number of files in \ProgrammFiles\Connections or which says 'no files' if there are not files in that folder
Can someone give me any clue?
Thanks in advance.
Hi ...
All of these are Today plug-ins ... and you can display/hide any of them.
Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items ... uncheck "Owner Info"
any additional data to be displayed on Today must be through a new plug-in either ready-made or you can develop it yourself using WM2003 SDK 8)
Changing Today items in registry
Hello.
I finally found it.
First I deleted the item:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Today\Items\"Owner Info"]
in default.reg, so It won't display anymore "Tap here to set owner information"
I didn`t add a new item but I think It is like adding a new line in registry, somewat like:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Today\Items\MyApp
"..."="\\Windows\\MyApp.exe"
Of course, after this modification I ran mkrom and made a new rom.
Tanks for your patient.

Click to collapse
that is the thing I DO APPRECIATE very much as I still have that weird looking phones setup in my phone book ... still without luck
maybe if you put step-by-step kind of information on how your connection settings look like ...
regards, monika
clciik start....
settings...
conections tab
hit connections
hit the advanced tab
click slect location
make sure use dialling rules is unticked
if it aint that then tick use dialling rules and put it onto mobile then press ok
hope this helps you
gaz
unfortunately I did not help ... it still looks like previously
go into the mobile tab thing and click edit
change country code to your one (you cant put + in this bit)
also do your area code.
click dialing patterns
change all the boxes to
+EFG exactly how i typed it
then try if nothing still press contacts button
then tools>options...
change the area and region code things in there.
if nothing still working
start> settings>system tab
then click on regional settings and slect the right country and all.
if nothing still then god knows lol

(Q) How ro set specific search folder for e-mail attachments

Dear community !
After an extensive search and playing around with the registry I have to admit I didn´t find a solution to my sepcific problem:
I am on Stock ROM 1.66/1921/WM 6.5
My problem:
When I wish to attach a photo/pdf/doc to my email the popup screen starts to screen my entire 32 GB mSD for files immediately without giving me the chance to select a folder FIRST BEFORE search starts.
Of course this now takes always some 5-8 minutes until the entire mSD card is scanned and ONLY THEN I can choose the MY Documents folder on the mSD
Does anyone know a tweak to make the popup WAIT UNTIL I choose a specific folder to scan ?
Might the tweak be in the registry, in an XML-file or somewhere else ?
(Or am I so stupid not find the answer which might have been given already on this ? )
EDIT: e.g. for album there is tweak to exclude certain folders or include only certain folders but nothing comparable for e-mail

[Q] Bluetooth problem after 2.3.6 upgrading

I have upgraded my atrix to 2.3.6 build 4.5.141 OTA and found that the app Bluetooth file transfer can not see files on other connected device, then I go to setting\wireless\bluetooth... and found that the discoverable check box can not be ticked! If bluetooth is on, the bluetooth adress is 00:11:22:33:44:55. Is that the problem related to this 4.5.141 build? Any help is appreciated
PS I've tried the PDS partition fix before upgrade but that time not solved my problem of top part touch screen unresponsive to touch.
Hello,
I'm from Brazil and my English is not so good, so if you do not understand something, please let me know.
First you need to root access, and install the SQLite editor.
Turn off the Bluetooth, then go to SQLite editor --> search for "com.motorola.android.providers.settings" --> settings.db --> settings
*Find the line: "bluethooth_discoverable_on", this is the line 135 here.
*Change the value to “1”.
*Reboot.
Now the most important part: go to Bluetooth settings, click to check discoverable, asap click in the box below, then set the time you want, but do not press the option "Never", this is the option that is causing the problem.
If you want, you can change the value back to “0”, however nothing changes here.
Am having the same problem
Hello Jmisturini. Thank you for the advice you gave. I have folliwed the steps, but the " com.motorola.android.providers.settings" --> settings.db --> settings" is missing in the list displayed by SQLite Editor. I have recently done an upgrade. I don't know if that's why mine is mot visible. Pls advice what next I should do. Thanks.

[Q] How to set 24 hrs time in Settings.apk by Default?

Hi,
I am Cooking ROM based on 4.0.4... There is Data and Time in Settings... it is set by Default to 12 Hour Fomrat. You have to check the 24 Hr Time Format to enable it.
My Problem is that there is a bug in my ROM with status bar which isnt accepting 12 hr Time. Status bar Force Closes non Stop until I go to Settings>Date & Time and change it to 24 Hr format.
Being ROM Cooker I dont want my users to see the first screen to appear as "SystemUI has Closed" after Flashing Fresh ROM...
The only solution I have to prevent is to set the time to 24 Hr by default. i.e enable Check ON like some other options in Settings which are checked by default..
I saw everyhere in Settings.apk but there is no place I could change it..
in res/xml I saw a file date_time_prefs.xml.. it has code below
Code:
<CheckBoxPreference android:title="@string/date_time_24hour" android:key="24 hour" [B]android:defaultValue="true"[/B] />
I added the last line android:defaultValue="true" to set it to default checked but still after a fresh install it isnt checked..
Can anyone tell me how and where I can set it to default checked?
Bump,
Looking for this as well
If you found it already, could you please share?
