MDA backlight burning out? Anyone have this happen? - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

My second MDA just had its baclight die. Its on, but very dim, even when connected to a charger. This was a replacement MDA from TMobile, and I only have had it for a couple months. I hope their customer service will send me a new one, this gets to be quite irritating.
Will the US ever get an MDA2? If so, I have a AT&T T616 I can use in the meantime if I can hold out and upgrade there. I just seem to have bad luck with the mda 1's

MDA no backlight
I have the same problem. First, i thought it was the LCD Touch Screen, so i bought another LCD touch screen from Ebay and replaced it, but the same thing happen when i turn my MDA on, still no backlight. My next guess would be the flex cable. Anyone has solution for this, please share. thanks.

MDA parts (Flash light, Vibrator)

I recently determined the flash light and vibrator parts for my MDA are part of the problem for my MDA not booting up. Once replaced with my other MDA's parts or just removing it completely, the MDA boots up fine.
Would anybody know where to buy the flash light and vibrator alone?
The only search results I find on ebay are WHOLE MDA's sold for parts.
I would appreciate the help as having two MDA's is better than one ! Thank you!

[Q] HD2 screen light will not switch off

Please help!
Since yesterday, after plug off from loading, my HD2 (German t-mobile ROM 1.77, Radio 2.07) doesn't switch of screen. In the past week, I haven't changed anything or installed any apps.
By pressing 'off' key, screen becomes black and will be revoked with screen lock after few seconds. When screen light gets low after predfined time, it will come back will full light after few seconds.
I've tried hard reset, installed stock ROM from t-mobile (include radio ROM) - nothing changed.
Does anyone can help?

I've seen this issue periodically here on the boards. From what I've read from the users who experience this issue, it is likely to be hardware related. One way to test this is to turn off the screen when the device is plugged in (charging)? If the screen will stay off when plugged in then I have some bad news.
The only solution I have seen is to send the device in to HTC for repair. Sorry.
I believe it has something to do with the micro usb being defective.
Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
Many THX, the device is within warranty and I will request for repair.
this sounds like the "car kit mode" hardware issue.

Look at the end of the thread for the reason it is happening, and you will need to have it repaired or replaced.
Device has been repaired/changed by t-mobile Germany without any reservations within 48 hours.

[Q] Xperia MINI PRO sk17 , screen remains black, although working

HI everyone My Xperia Mini Pro worked just fine, then one day the screen remained black after unlocking it... it still worked, i could feel the touch and vibrations, i could basicly do everything just that i wasn't able to see it. After some shaking, pressing, sliding the keyboard out, it came back to its normal state, but would go black again if i pressed it hard and hold...Now the screen is always black. I hadn't really dropped it, it wasn't exposed to high temperatures, it just happened......i took it to some service centers and they have changed the flex cable a few times but didn't work..they assumed it was a hardware issue.....My warranty's long out.....WHAT SHOULD I DO???...Is there a chance that a screen change might help it and what would it cost me? please help

[Q] Help with Warranty

Two days ago I bought the Galaxy s4 black from verizon wireless website. Today someone dropped my phone. The screen is cracked and wont turn on. When I press the button the screen turns green for a split second and turns off. Is the limited warranty covering this? I really need this phone and will be in alot of trouble if this is not free/very cheap to fix.

This is not a warranty issue. The warranty will not cover someone dropping your phone. I'm sorry to hear you are in this position.
Your only option is to get the glass, screen / digitizer replaced and hope that is all that is broken. As it is, it won't be cheap to fix but cheaper than buying a new phone at full price.
Or, you could just buy a used one on eBay or Craigs List, just be careful.

Touchscreen not working

Hello all,
First of all I hope I am writing in the correct section... Otherwise please let me know.
Secondly: Something really strange is happening to my Galaxy S2.
Last year, the glass broke on the street and I changed it manually by buying one from eBay and following video instrctions. This year the touch and AMOLED part of the screen cracked (I don't even know how). This time I decided to buy a Galaxy S4, as I didn't want to "invest" anymore on the 2-year old smartphone, but I kept it. Later this year I decided to fix the S2 one again, and so I ordered a replacement screen (which costed a whopping $105!!!) and changed it. To my surprise, although I checked all the motherboard connections more than twice, the phone turns on, the Welcome Screen (configuration for first time usage screen) appears, but... The screen is unresponsive and I also can't change the volume nor turn the screen off by pressing the lock/power button.
If someone knows something about this problem or how to fix it, I would appreciate a comment with information regarding it to be able to understand what is happening.
Thanks in advance!
B.S.: I don't know if this information has anything to do with the problem, but the first screen I bought wasn't original, as it didn't have the Samsung logo on the ribbon cable, while the new one is original and the Samsung logo appears on the ribbon connector. I wonder: Is this a factory failure?
