Hi all,
Is there a phone profile software somewhere that I can have a "In Car" profile, in which the speakerphone is always on? BTW I'm on WM2003 rom on my XDA1. Thanks
The speakerphone has to be activated manually unfortunately.
to be more precise:
not always :-D

Forgive me for sounding dumb, but where the hell is the speakerphone option guys?
Hold down the green telephone button when making a call, it will activate after a couple of seconds. There is a way of switching it on so it stays on but its a convoluted solution.
I am interested to know what the previous poster means by "not always", which other method am I missing, is there a software solution?

Thanks for the replies. I'd like to know if there is a software somewhere to activate speakerphone automatically. Thanks

CareAce.net have recently developed a notifier for Windows mobile phones that vibrates for a short period after an outgoing call has gone through.
So basically, it vibrates when someone picks up your call (even if its through to voicemail). It does not vibrate on connection to the network, that's a different feature.
Please check out more about it here: http://www.careace.net/2009/07/23/careace-exclusive-connecting-notifier/
Love to hear your opinion/suggestions!
Well... this does already exist in any HTC ROM I know... Do you mean that it doesn't exist on samsung devices ?
Yes and yes. this feature was omitted from some of the Samsung smartphones/pocket pcs. So we do see this as a sort of patch as well.
Can someone please upp the app here? Don't wanna to register there...

I thought this app does something different than the option on HTC roms... from what i understand, the one we currently have just vibrates on connection to the network. This app, however, vibrates when the person actually picks up the phone, not connection to the network. Please let me know if I'm mistaken and there actually is an option already to vibrate on pickup. Thanks

This app vibrates when someone picks up the phone. It does not vibrate on network connection. I haven't tried the feature on a native (unmod) HTC roms, but from the sound of it (as you described), they are not the same function.

Yeah, I think people are confusing the two functions. BUT, please let me know if I'm mistaken and this feature already exists on phones like the HTC Touch Pro and Diamond. If it's not on these phones, i consider it a great find.
can someone pls upload the file over for touch pro. i guess this should work with the default dailer skin. thanks.
even my dumb nokia phone have this feature
And every HTC, too... I don't understand people here... The touch pro already has this feature.
Just go to Start > Settings > Phone > Advanced > Vibrate on connect (or something like that... my ROM is french, so I don't know the exact name for the option).

Maybe you should know what you're talking about before you start questioning people and start calling them dumb (person above you)...
The feature already on our devices is to vibrate on connection to network... meaning when our call actually starts going out. Then it rings.
This app is different. Your phone rings... the it vibrates when the person you're calling actually picks up.
Yeap. Reiterating: I don't have a HTC that I'd tested this on. I've only tested it on SAMSUNG Windows Mobile devices which includes the Omnia, Epix, Blackjack, Jack and Propel Pro.
The feature: When your call goes THROUGH = ring, ring, ring... Hello. Then it vibrates.
The good thing about this as compared to vibrating when calling out is that you don't have to keep an ear (or an eye) on the phone to see if the call has gone through. And as our article has (hopefully) humorously underlined, it provides benefits like: health, safety, etiquette and finance.
Would love to have you try it (http://bit.ly/IpDsl) and share any input/bug report.
Thanks!
Slide 2 Unlock 2 will also do this, but I found that when I used it, various people would complain about a noise when I answer the phone or they answer the phone.
I called myself from home phone/to home phone, and both directions I can hear "WHIRRR" where the vibration is being picked up by the microphone.
Just my experience ;-)

@khaytsus. Yeap, that is a known issue when it comes to Samsung Omnia as well. This is actually device-based, depending on the location of the vibration motor.
For the rest of the Samsung device that we've tested, the motor is near the mic, whereas for the Omnia, it is closer to the top, hence creating a vibration sound when connected.
And yes, S2U2 amongst some other freeware/shareware has similar function alongside the 'main package' that they deliver, whereas this is sort of like a patch, giving the Samsung (and other applicable devices) what other device like HTC, may already have.

First, you shall not tell me what I'm allowed to say or not Thank you very much.
Then, don't blame me because someone else said the word "dumb", i'm not responsible for that.
And finally, my HTC Touch Diamond only vibrates when the person picks up, answers and talks to me. AFTER RINGING. I don't see the point in vibrating just when the call is going out... I use this vibration to put the phone to my ear only if someone (or voice mail) has picked up...
So please stay calm, we're just discussing features here, not calling people names.

+1 for Touch Pro also.
this doesn't work on my htc p3450. is there any way to make it work?
During call, people on the other side are complaining they can't hear me loud enough unless i talk REALLY loud.
My phone is not rooted and I'm looking for a solution without rooting it.
A google search came up with this code: *#197328640#
but I couldn't find the proper settings to define , and where, to boost the mic sensitivity.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Edit: Something got screwed up now and I can hear myself as I talk.. very loud.. darn.. I put everything back to default, but still..
bump
really need help with this one.. mostly with the echo, its extremly annoying..
That code is for boosting the Earpiece volume in call and other volumes too but there is no code to boost up the mic. So try to disable the Noise Reduction feature to Off in a call by pressing Menu, see if it works.

It doesn't help for boosting the mic, but it does help for the echo.
Anyway I didnt have an echo before I messed with those settings..
Other ideas?
both of my problems are important for me now, so please try to help both..
You messed up with that code? Then just do a restart, everything will be back to default values. And about the low mic volume, I really can't say mate.

anybody?
Just have the S2 from my old faithful HTC HD2 - with the HTC I use to use it in the gym with my bluetooth headset listening to music but with the phone turned off so I would not be disturbed..........
And from what I can see that is no longer possible with the S2 - surely there must be a way to turn the phone off and still use bluetooth without having to hack the root etc
I know I can use WiFI while in flight mode and GPS but that does not help whilst out running / in the gym - that's basically my time and I do not want to be disturbed, or disturb others hence wanting to simply turn the phone off that's all

By "phone off" you don't actually mean powering the device off, do you? Because that would be neat trick, listening to your music while the device was completely powered off.
You could turn Auto reject mode on to turn away all calls. (settings > call > call rejection)
EDIT: and what's wrong with flight mode? I'm not clear on why this wouldn't work for you. Or is it that you still want mobile data, but no phone calls?
EDIT 2: Herp derp, I see, it IS because you want mobile data, right? Since if you're out running, you don't have wifi available. So yeah, Auto reject mode should work for you.

He wants to use his phone like an mp3 player with bluetooth headsets. He wants to "turn off" phone functions and use only the phone like a music player.
AFAIK in "flight mode" is not possible to use bluetooth.

D'oh... missed one little detail.
Right, it's not possible. Bluetooth won't turn on in flight mode. Sorry.
Auto reject mode should still work for the OP's purposes though.
AloneOnTheDark is spot on - really just a simple request one would have thought......
He wants to use his phone like an mp3 player with bluetooth headsets. He wants to "turn off" phone functions and use only the phone like a music player.
Only issue using the Auto Reject mode is that the caller calling me does not get put through to my voice mail and all the caller hears is that the call is unauthorised..... so not really that sensible as it might be a client trying to get hold of me, and at least a voice mail etc they can handle.............
Still can't believe this is such a major issue and that there are no apps / wdigets to do this, though did come across one potential one where you might be able to turn the phone off, but there was a caveat that it might not work and that you would have to do a factory reset etc

Then you can change your forwarding. settings > call > call forwarding > voice call. Activate "always forward", and put in your voice mail number for your carrier. It should be the same number as the three other forwarding options below it. Same menu options to disable it when you want to turn it off.

Call forwarding is built into the OS, so probably no one saw the need to build an app for it... Just guessing though.
ctomgee thanks that's the way to go - bit of a faff to do but worth it for some peace & quiet away from the phone, and I know I could have ignored the call, but can never bring myself to do that

No prob.
FYI, you can create a shortcut directly to the call fowarding settings menu too. Just download "Any Cut" from the market. Or if you're using Launcher Pro as your homescreen launcher, you can do this with a long press on the homescreen. It's a bit of a pain to find stuff you want to shortcut to, but you only have to do it once this way.

I honestly didn't even check the market for an app for it. I just assumed there wasn't one because you said there wasn't one.
Hi can you tell me which app you found please? I've tried several but can't switch on BT with any of them once in flight mode. I want to do exactly what you do in the gym! Thanks!
Currently , call setting--hang in notification-- call vibrating--vibrating when the others hang off ,but my question is how to set vibrating when the others hang after flashing JB11 over I605?
thanks.
if you could be more clear and use proper punctuation then perhaps I could help you.
Sorry,i mean how to set vibrating when the others hang on the phone if conmunication with CDMA2000 channels by I605 noteII.
Not sure that helped either.
I think he means - how do you set the phone to vibrate when the other party in a phone conversation hangs up?? Not sure, but that's my guess. And if that is the question, I don't know the answer. Sorry and good luck.

Make sure when you are switching from Speaker mode, you switch into "Handset Earpiece", and not something else like a connected Bluetooth. Also, be sure you didn't accidentally press "Mute" to mute the microphone.

Why do you need this? There are probably plenty of other alternatives, but this is most likely not going to be helpful for you. If you want to revert the issue, flash back the stock Lollipop.
